  1. I presented my monorail at Skaerbaek Fanweekend in Denmark last weekend. So much feedback and so much commendation on my work and the RaspberryPi controlled switchpoints. It was so crazy overwhelming. I'm totally flashed. Thank you to all who visited me in Skaerbaek! By the way: The trains where runnning two and an half days without any problems but changing batteries all 3,5 hours. Remote controlling the switchpoints via WiFi from Trigger-Shed works seamless. I have also demonstrated the new designed components: Y-switchpoint, crossing and the trigger-rail. All works fine and if i find the time i'll build it in LDD. I'm sure Dave will then made new building instructions for you. But just be patient with me...
  2. Sorry wrong thread...
  3. Hi David, there are a few issues to solve, but when the switches are working really properly ans have a stable construction i'll send you the LDD files. By the way: Snottingen Monorail goes to Skaerbaek Fanweekend 29th an 30th of September. I hope to see some of you in Denmark! Just follow the yellow tracks he he ...
  4. Today i've tested the new remote switchboard. Who can find the 5 raspberrys on the picture? ;-) The buzzer on the switchboard turns both cross-switches simultaneously in straight position. You can also see two new type of switch points i've made in the last months: A crossing (in the middle of the picture) including trigger switches for automatically turn the rail in correct direction when a train wants to go over. The remaining 3 PF outputs are configured for hosting further switch points, so the crossing is a 3-port signal box also. Second i have made a double-curve switch point. (lower middle of the picture) The point of interest on this switch point is a piece of track wich is able to bend in both directions.
  5. Because my switch-points are controlled by RaspberryPi systems they are also able to receive commands via wifi network. So i've started building my personal "world domination console". And YES! I have also build trigger rails you can connect to the little shed with a RaspberryPi inside. Meanwhile my whole monorail-system consists of 5 Raspberry's ( three Zeros WH and two model b+ with usb wifi) communicating to each other over TCP/IP. Using RaspberryPi's is much more flexible and cheaper then using LEGO's NXT system.
  6. Getting in the same trouble during my display last month i've also have redesigned the motor carriage. In a first attempt i have simply build clamps around the old design wich results in a little bit tubby carriage. But this solution is tested an runs more than 4 hrs without any maintanance. Disadvantage is, the the space between the gearwheels don't have the 100% correct distance and this leads to a slightly jamming behavior. I'm convinced that the incorrect distance was the core problem of the older constructions leading to pushing the bricks apart. BUT IT WORKS in long runs and you can also use a M-Motor instead of a XL-Type. Using the M-Motor will multiply the driving speed by two but reduce the power for climbing on solped tracks. ;-) See attached some pictures and a link to a LDD File. :-) LDD File
  7. Thank you David for publishing these wonderful instructions. As usual any building instruction is a noncommittal recommendation and not a "must do". Indeed you can chose the colors as you want or parts are available at bricklink and other sources.
  8. I've just finished the little movie showing the track layout in action. You can find it on flickr. Link to my Monorail album (you can find the movie at the very last end)
  9. Yiiiihaaaaa - i was out for playing at the weekend! Snottingen Monorail at RHEIN-MAIN-STEIN, Rüsselsheim, 10th June 2018
  10. I have just published some new photos of my signal box and the monorail switchpoints on Flickr. There is also a new movie showing the switchpoints in action.
  11. The Corner Deli is build from two 31050 Corner Deli sets with additional 282 parts (in 50 Lots). 35 parts are left over form the sets. As you can see on the photos, I have sockets below the modular house but you can put up the MOC on plain baseplate also. LDD file and partlist for the extra parts are available on my website. snottingen.de is in german language, but i'm sure you'll find the download links. It's also possible to build up the Deli on a 32x16 Baseplate for a smaller version without garden. Just leave off the stairs. You then need less extra parts. Find more photos on my Flickr pages.
  12. Another Monorail for my System: "Sensai Wu's Emerald Dragon-Mono of Tassel Spinjitzu" This is a funny Mod of LEGO Set 70612 - Green Ninja Mech Dragon based on my test vehicle no. 3 You can fin a little movie showing the "dragon" in action on flickr.
  13. The Frog Prince - A Monorail using boogies and the "Middle-Motor-Boogie" as introduced by legomonrailfan. A little movie you can find here: Frog Prince at flickr
  14. Everything is awesome! … is not the only fafourite song at radio Snottingen running in heavy rotation. Nicole Schwatzinger (Nicole Talkative) moderates the breakfast show with the best hits and latest news from Snottingen and surroundings. Of course, there are also serious news from the newsroom with Klaus Kleewer and Gundi Grause. So the Snottingen public is always best informed, where just the next bag of flour falls over. Gossip from the streets on air ist provided by Linda Zackwasis. She has just grabbed Alice Finch in front of the radio station and "interrogate" her about her Super-MOCs. And then there's the tech troop. Notably Mike Faxflicker, technical manager. Ralf Donnerwetter, responsible for transmission technic, vehicle fleet and girl for everything. And last but not least trainee Tim Turnschuh (Tim Sneaker). They keep Radio-S technically running. As official cars Radio Snottingen has two classic cars from Hugo (the guy from the vintage car clinic). A fiery red old Rover and a old LMW-Flitz truck built in 1965. The LMW-Truck carrys the mobile transmission technic. Radio Snottingen is located in a nice old house built in the 1890th. A modern extension has been added to the house, which carries the entire transmission technology and houses the newsroom. A magnificent building on 48 x 32 studs. Everyone calls in gets directly connected to Sondra Kreischberger or Maifritt Killner. They two are "Chief on duty", Offroom and telephone hotline in one person and they are the secret bosses of radio snottingen. Their boss, Nick S. Zukamelle somehow tries to manage the whole bunch - which he does not always succeed. Keeping track of this totally crazy radio troupe is like watching fleas ... Statistics: Godfather for the station of course is the litte radio station from my hometown. Radio Snottingen has about 3,150 parts. I've created it at the end of last year. Find more pictures on flicker. Radio Snottingen can be seen live on the RHEIN-MAIN-STEIN Exhibition. June 9th to 10th 2018 in the Stadttheater Rüsselsheim , Germany. …and as always: I apologize for my horrible english.
  15. I've build a signal box for my Monorail switching points. You can watch a litte movie at flicker (Click on the image)
  16. Playing around with LEGO-Spheres and a small sand green minifigure brings up the iconic book cover from Antoine De Saint-Exupéry's litte prince in my mind. What then follows was a "must build" The sticker on the minifigure is self-made using inkscape, (www.inkscape.org)
  17. I've build a train according to the motor boogie design of MonorailFan99. This train runs smooth in a 52cm circle. (96 Tiles 2x2). There is no noticeable speed difference between straights and the 52cm curve. ...and YES! Parts in the "correct" color are ordered already on BrickLink.
  18. The clock face is a self designed pattern printed direct on the tile. I've ordered the tiles at a brick-print service. For shure, you also can do it with stickers. The Lamp post shown in the photo is slightly different from my design below. When I build this vignette I don't had the parts in the needed color at hand.
  19. As mentioned above i've tested out some techniques in this MOC. One of it was to build a black stem instead of a brown one and of course how to fix a hair-part upside down on a limb element to create a birds nest. Hint: I've used a round plate 1x1 with hole and a litte pice of hose rigid 3mm to tailor a kind of "double-stud" element.
  20. I don't know if the dice ever used as a clock. I've never seen it before. But i don't think that this use is an "idea" rather then a logical step... ;-)
  21. I've made a little vignette to test some building techniques. Find more Photos and details on my Flickr Photostream

A little gimmick for outfitting my latest MOC. ;-)
  23. The Firefighter consists of 255 parts and was build in may 2017.
  24. Öncam & Egzoz Inc. chauffeur services mineral oils & lubricants Team Öncam & Egzoz by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. Öncams are ottoman immigrants in second and third generation ... Well ... emm, they are Germans! As the ancestors of the Candagios the Öncams migrate in the early 50th to Cross-Axleton for working at LMW motorworks. After work and on weekends they not only do a second job as taxi-drivers but breed many more little ottomans. (in the 50th there was no Turkish satellite TV available...) 15 years ago the old father Öncam realized that his children and grandchildren will never go "home" to turkey because they are all Germans. They only spent their holidays in Turkey.However. After the old Josef Fuhmacher retired, Öncams took over the fuel station and the taxi central in Snottingen. Öncam & Egzoz oHG by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. Taxi Central by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. A few years ago Akin added a Limousine-Service and today they are big in business driving VIPs to the airport or "Palixa and the Bricks" to concerts of the Band. Fuelstation by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. Akin has refurbished the old gas station next to the taxi central in a lovingly manner. He turned eBay upside down for snatching historic Octan Sings, oil cabinets and fuel pumps. His personal highlight is the old cash register. Octan-Figure by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. Today is big reopening of the fuel station. In last second Erwin Pumpöler delivers fresh fuel into the underground tanks. Hakan Güler, chief mechanican at Önvam&Egzoz Inc., blow up the giant Octan figure this morning and is now helping Erwin at filling the tanks. In the afternoon the Octan Racong Team will visit the fuel station with the huge 4x4 Offraoder. Hakan is big fan of the team an wears already the Octan-Racing-Shirt for welcome the racing team. Filling up the Underground tanks by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. Meanwhile the first customer refueld his car an pay for the gas. Handan Egzos-Öncam today operates the cash desk. Normally she manages the taxi central but today the temporary staff does her job. Cash Desk by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. Rriiiiiiinngggg! Taxi for Schrippenkneter, Bricksuferstraße, to train station please! Taxi Central by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. Now the moment of Adem Özwurst comes up! The talented taxi driver and Elvis fan knows all shortenings and radar traps in Snottingen. Every time you have a discussion with him the talk ends at "Elvis" and "driving Memphis". So let's keep fingers crossed that this order really goes to the train station... Adem Ützwurst by Filius Rucilo on Flickr. Persons Akin Öncam (The Boss) Berkant Öncam (Son of Akin, today in the Kindergarden ) Josef Fuhrmacher (retired ) Handan Egzoz-Öncam (Wife of Akin, Manager of Taxi-Zentrale) Erhan Egzoz (Limo Driver) Adem Özwurst (Taxi Driver, driving Memphis...) Hakan Güler( Chief Mechanican ) Erwin Pumpöler ( Octan-Truck Driver ) customers and passerby Statistics First documents of the Fuelstation dated in October 2015. I finalized the MOC on LDD in November 2016 and bought the parts form January to April 2017. The final build up was done in end of April 2017. The MOC consists of 5.800 parts plus street elements and vehicles we have overall 7.700 parts. The taxi cars and the Limo are rebricks of 60050 (Taxi) and 60102 (Limo). Some elements of the Octan-Figure are not available in the desired color, so i've took grey ones. Find more pictures on Flickr. More storys about Snottingen at snottingen.de (Only german) And now something totally different: I apologize for my terrible english. :-)
  25. Indeed there is enough room for the pilot! The car is a mod of LEGO Set 3177. :-) As mentioned in on flickr: The Rennsemmel is fit for the 24 minutes of Le Mans! ;-)
