Battlefront 3: Renegade Squadron!

I'd like a sniper with a jetpack. It'd make a good combination, so the sniper can get to a good vantage point. -
Foolish LEGO Human Errors You've Made.

Hm, it took a bit to answer this... As for the dock... It's a bit more functional than it is attractive... And some of the MOC ships are the same... I have a limited amount of baseplates, so those are a bit multicolored, and most of the moc ships are multicolored as well, seeing as I need to buy large quantities of grey(or other color) to color-code. In my opinion, the dock and ships look nice, but as I said, they aren't color-coded. I could still put up a pic if you want, though. -

Ooh, this sounds good... Well, I hope we'll be able to make customized clones. They'd probably be the easiest to change, seeing as they do have the most wide array of armor in the movies. (such as the commanders) -
Exclusive EB Review: 7093 - Skeleton Tower

Hmm, can't beleive I missed this reveiw... -
excellent MOC! This one is a lot better, the claws actually fit him! I noticed that your first pics were a bit dark, so I took the liberty of clearing them up a bit. I couldn't fix the blurriness, but I could lighten them up a bit.

Welcome back to the addiction we call Lego! ;-) Those are some interesting cannons on that upgrade. Good design. About the camera, is it a relatively good camera? (a usually reliable way is to check the price!) I don't have an extremely good camera, but it works well enough. I'd suggest putting it on a tripod if it isn't, and maybe putting in a white backdrop, like a sheet.

You guys time yourselves?! X-O That's bad! ;-) I try to enjoy it. Lego is about building; why not have fun when you're constructing your model?

My turn to rant. :-| I mentioned this in the 'What movie have you seen recently' topic, but I'd prefer to rant in longer detail. For starters, I'd like to mention my annoyance at almost every ship in POTC. First, lets take a look-see at the Black Pearl. If you take a look at the her, she is not what you would call fast(for a ship her size). In the first film, the Pearl is a set on land. In the second and third, she is a floating, notice I said floating, non-authentic model. Take a look at this picture. To put it kindly, she is a leaky tub. Those masts aren't quite done, but even if they were, the ship would not really be much of a threat to the Caribbean. Then, there is the Endeavor. I do not know much about this ship, but I agree with Norrington. It was pitifully inadequate in the film. If the Peal and the Flying Dutchman had that kind of firepower, they would most likely tip over from the weight of the cannon. That brings me to the Dutchman. She should not look like that. It is true she is a cursed ship, but that doesn't mean she is covered with sealife, or even rotting. She is actually doomed to try to sail around the Cape of Good Hope, which her master vowed that he would sail round, even if it took him till doomsday. As for what she looks like, there is a varied description of her. The most usual description is that she is seen from afar, glowing with unearthly light, red, or the green glow of Saint Elmo's fire. Anyway, she is grossly overpowed. What is with those triple guns?! As for the third ship that appeared for any bit of lenght (and that has some background) there is the Interceptor. She is the only real tall masted ship in the movie. Her real name is the USS lady Washington, an american ship that was built in 1750, and then rebuilt in 1987(she was repainted for the film). I have been aboard her, and she really is quite a beautiful ship! So much so, she has been used in many movies- POTC, Master and Commander, and Enterprise in Star Trek Generations, I almost cried when she was sunk in the first film. Even though she was mentioned as the fastest ship in the Caribbean, she isn't that fast of a ship; her hull speed is around 10 knots. Then, there's the mythology of POTC. The only thing that really bugs me about this is the fact that Davy Jones is not captain of the Flying Dutchman. The real captain of the Dutchman is Captain Hendrick Van der Decken, or just Vanderdecken. And, also Norrington's complaint that all the British soldiers are idiots... But of course, that's probably just an American veiw! :-D Did anyone notice, that as Lord Beckett is walking down the banister, cannonfire is advancing behind him, but the Dutchman and the Pearl are going the other direction? In other words, Beckett (and the cannonfire sounding behind him as he walks) is walking towards the bow, but the two ships are going towards the ships stern? *wacko* Even though it sounds like I despise the movie, I don't. It's just the few problems Hollywood put in it. "My peanut."

I saw POTC 3 yesterday. It was very good. Great scenery Great music Funny characters However, I am very bothered by a few things throughout the series: 1. Davy Jones is NOT captain of the Flying Dutchman. Cap'n Van der Decken (I like to say Vanderdecken) is. It's here on Wikipedia The Dutchman Does not guide souls- it is a cursed ship, doomed to ply the seas forever. 2. The Black Pearl does not have the lines of a fast ship. The hull was built onto a barge. If the Black Pearl were a real ship, it would be slower than a snail in glue. 3. Why are they after Calypso? If they want true power, ask Poseidon. Other than those, I really liked the movie. Rather anticlimatic ending, though.

"Life... is like an exploding whale. It goes up on you, and then it just falls to little smelly peices all over you!" -me I invented this quote after watching the great exploding whale in Florence, Oregon. Truly a stupid moment in history.

MOC: Servant 1- Mandalorian short range fighter craft
Corvus replied to johnsocal's topic in LEGO Star Wars
He was one of the richest individuals in the galaxy before he found the Mandametal. With all that money, the only company he'd chose would be Kuat. Nice moc, very nice. *yoda* is right- it does look a bit like a snow speeder. Though I doubt Boba would chose the name 'servant-1'- not likely to strike fear into the hearts of the enemy. I think I can answer your question, Piranha- 1. I think the helmets were on sale on the pick-a-brick shelves in the lego stores. 2. Forgot what the theme was, but the torso there is from an old alien theme. -
Though I imagine that people who are new at making MOCs like to get a little pat on the back, a "good try, keep up the good work" sort of thing. These comments add to the cosy atmosphere, making the new people (yes, including me) feel more comfortable here.

Inter Galactic Command Base. It's just so *wub* a tie for second with the Message Intercept Base and the Space Lock-up Isolation Base.

Very nice, the weapon arms are beautiful, but he looks a bit topheavy. Try modifying the legs to be bit more armored. I took the liberty of trying my own version, albeit darker, and with an odd looking arm. I'm experimenting camera angles, and new cameras. You'll notice that the mech is a bit fuzzy, any tips on how to fix that?

ARGH! IT BURNS!! Bellville in space... What's next? KK in Exo-Force? Hmm- that could be interesting.

Target practice? X-D Good review, *yoda* , are you planning to review the base, as well? Please? I'm begging!! X-D

What is that design on top? Looks like bat-things attacking a cross... I agree with you SW4J. The engines are okay, but the rest is kind of boxy. Where's the bridge?

I have a friend in Biology who happens to have a very funny teacher. One day, the teacher was slightly late, so the students were stuck outside in the hallway. One student, Gabby, was trying to open the locked door. The teacher came up, and said to Gabby- "Insanity is the act of trying something over and over again, under the same circumstances, expecting a different result." This quote fit perfectly to the situation, and of course every one started laughing. Gabby tried to save herself. "But, Mr. Miller, the door could have been jammed!" Mr. Miller just stared calmly at her until she quit blustering. "Gabby, I make fun of other students, but you just do it to yourself!" There was another time when I was walking down the hallway, and overheard a loud conversation: One girl was talking to her friends, and asked why it was always hotter upstairs. Her friend replied that this was because hot air rises. the girl answered this as follows: "oh really? I didn't know that!" So sad... :'-( Not to insult these people, of course. Gabby just had a bad moment (who hasn't tried to open a locked door?!)

Foolish LEGO Human Errors You've Made.

Here's another one. Do NOT set your fragile Lego dock (with all the fragile Lego ships) on the floor where you think it is safe. That is an illusion. There is nowhere safe on the floor. I realised that when my cousin's dog chased my sister's cat up a window- directly through the lego dock. The dock, along with Jabba's sail barge, the Black Seas Barracuda, numerous MOC ships, and that-white-imperial-ship-whose-name-I-forgot were either smashed, bashed, squashed, or utterly deatomized. The dock was gone. So, I just started from scratch. Now, luckily, my dock is better than ever. Unfortunatley, it took a good three weeks to completely fix the rest of the ships. The BSB has a huge gash in the galley, along with knocked out masts and other minor problems. I had to completely reassemble the entire stern. :'-( I'm glad to say, though, that my fleet has made an excellent recovery. I'm just glad the cat didn't hide underneath the table. Moral of the story: keep your lego in a very, very safe place. Preferably in a room with a solid metal door and no windows. -
Even though this ship has no place in my 'modern' dock, I proudly keep it there anyway. :) It's just too beautiful- it deserves a place in my fleet. Though I must admit: I made a deck to go over the cannon pit so I could have some room.

The part with them falling off the cliff was the best, and kind of brough you in. Then, the rest wasn't quite as good. It was pretty good, though.

I'm with mixed feelings about these new sets. On the one hand, I absolutely love this set. It captures the originals well. On the other hand, I'm tight on money. Summer 2007 is going to be murder to my funds- there's the MTT, the new exo-force sets, castle sets, and of course more than my fair shair of battle packs. The only plentiful thing I have right now is space. (nice house, practically every room in the place has vaulted ceilings :-| ) But, alas, space and lack of lego money don't mix well. Oh well, enough of my problems. Excellent review, *yoda* You'll have to excuse me, I think I hear my wallet dying...
