  1. The whole information package from Jan B: LEGO User Group Bulk Order Program Dear Community Leader, The “LEGO User Group Bulk Order Program” (LUGBULK) will be offered to LEGO User Groups as a pilot/test program from August 2009 and possibly going into 2010. Due to new legislation in the USA, we will unfortunately not be able to offer the program to USA based LEGO User Groups until we implement some additional processes. We expect to open up the program to US LEGO User Groups at a later date. This document explains to you how to get access to and use the program to order smaller amounts of LEGO bricks from the whole LEGO assortment directly at the LEGO Group. Please notice again that this is a pilot project and it may be terminated on short notice at any time. Who will be able to order? LUGBULK will only be accessible for registered LUGs. A LUG need to meet the following requirements and submit the following information to the LEGO Community Team to become a registered LUG – the LEGO Community team will follow up on the requirements every time a LUG places an order: • The LUG need to consist of minimum 10 members • The LUG need to feature at least 2 public smaller or bigger displays each year • The LUG need to exist for at least 1 year • The LUG need to have an official website • The LUG need to have at least a 1 page description of the LUG and the goals of the LUG on the website • The LUG need to take part in possible surveys issued by the LEGO Group to the LUG • The LUG is responsible for securing the needed written accept from their membership according to the local legislation to submit legally the following basic information about the LUG and the members to the LEGO Community Team: -Number of members -Name of members -Address of members -Email of member s -LEGO ID of members if applicable Only the personal data of the members who accept the terms can be submitted and also only these members count for the order amount. The data will be used only by LEGO System A/S and its affiliated entities and never issued to 3rd parties. Rules for LUGBULK: - Only active elements (no restricted elements and no licensed elements) can be purchased - The minimum order for one LUG is 2000 DKK - The average amount per member to purchase is max. 200 DKK - The minimum order qty per element is 50 pcs. and increase in 50 pcs. steps until 500 and from then in 100 piece steps (except building plates) - The maximum amount of different elements per order is 100 - Every registered LUG can order 2 times a year - The orders will be taken in between February and September each year – every LUG will get 2 dates - The lead time per order which means from order is accepted until it is shipped can be up to 3 month - It is not allowed to resell the bought elements – there will be a penalty for the LUG if a member is reselling the elements. - The shipping costs and possible taxes/custom clearings are not included in the element price so they will get on top of the price. - Only one single defined member of each LUG can place the order and will get the order shipped - The order need to be submitted in an Excel file containing as much information about the elements as possible (Bricklink number or LEGO Brick ID (4 or 7 digit code)are preferred) How is the process? 1. The head/founder of the LUG that wants to become a registered LUG to participate in the LUGBULK program contact Jan Beyer at Jan@LEGO.com and submit all above requested information and fulfills all needed requirements. 2. After Jan Beyer has checked that all requirements are fulfilled and how many of the members have submitted their data, the final max. amount for the purchase is defined. 3. One by the LUG defined member of the registered LUG will submit the wish list, the shipping address and his/her contact details to Jan Beyer – this person is now responsible for the order and the complete payment in the timeframe for this specific LUG 4. The wish list can containing max. 150 different elements in prioritized order and will be send in an excel file to Jan Beyer. Among these, up to 100 will be selected based on LUG priority and TLG availability 5. Jan Beyer will proceed the list. 6. Jan Beyer agrees with the contact person of the registered LUG the final order list of max. 100 different Elements – based on availability, element cost (not to exceed the average max. amount per member of 200 DKK) and the costs and amount per element. 7. After having an agreed list, the LEGO warehouse will check the list and determine an expected delivery date, which Jan Beyer will communicate to the LUG in question. 8. After that the LEGO Group will send an Invoice to the defined LUG member who is responsible for the order. 9. The order will not be shipped before the money is on the LEGO Company account (payment can be made in DKK/EUR/USD) 10. The order gets shipped to the LUG member who ordered. ___________ CopMike
  2. Just some phones I wipped up, Fabuland one in front.
  3. Nice one Inventor ! I like the design, that you worked with the walls/windows so they go in/out which makes the walls non-flat! It´s a good mix between Fabuland and City. The interior is well done also. And of course there´s extra points for using this guy hard at work !
  4. I´m looking forward to see this new theme, I think it will have interesting pieces and new cool minifigs ! Man, you really need to re-think some of your posting style ! Today´s children suck? Why should´t LEGO (and what is LEGO/TLG if not people - it´s not a artificial intelligence) show people new sets before they´re released? I´ve seen stuff way before it´s released and so have lots of other people. The same happens in any company. - I love you Peppermint! On-the-spot comment !I´m really fed up with all those comments on how bad everything new are ! Just look at the amount of new sets being released each year, take 2008 for example. Compare those with for example 1977. Of course some sets/a lot of sets could be even better designed but there´s always the price/selling point to watch for a company such TLG. But we´re Afol´s and often have the parts/$$$ to make them the way we want. Everybody is of course entitled to their own opinion on the sets, what I really mean is that everytime we get news of new stuff people ALWAYS start complaining about how crappy the sets are! If you really mislike Lego so much - choose another interest/hobby! TLG is a company - they are doing this to make $$$ - but at the same time TLG is one of the best companys (IMO) in the world to have a dialog with it´s end users. End of blowing of steam - back to staying on target!
  5. Happy B-day Sne!! I hope you enjoyed it !
  6. Yes, Wal-Mart for Ahsoka, Death Star from S&H shipped from the US (thanks Hinckley) which I actually bought last Brickworld but brought home now . Yes, suitcase & bag after some boxes removed. My friends had to haul the five 10186 General Grievous sets and the five 7676 Republic Attack Gunships & four 7675 AT-TE Walkers ! And this is what I did in Vancouver.
  7. Vancouver, BC rocks!
  8. !
  9. I don´t know but I really don´t guess think that´s a permanent change in the design. As for the piece itself I´m glad TLG made it, I could see many uses for it. I have a bunch of them and will soon put them to use. And I´m sure we´re going to see many newly well designed pieces in the future ! To be clear about the design itself, it´s NOT a "reverse" piece - it´s just like the old 4073.
  10. Their from the back of comic magazines, mostly Donald Duck ones I think. The text says - "The challange! In the LEGOLAND Space heroes meet eye to eye ...", scary stuff !
  11. More swedish ads, especially old space scanned by Frasse on BS !

    Canadian Eh?

I´ll be in Vancouver until the 11th, where is the best places for Lego? I´ve checked out TRU on West Broadway, pretty good selection but no Home One yet . Vancouver is such a nice town, and now is host the World Police & Fire Games ! And it was hot thursday, +38 degrees !
  15. Great job Pellaeon , I like it a lot! I might just have to do like this when I get the time to build my set. As for the minifig issue, put in one of these guys instead :
  16. Well done, raw talent yet again !!
  17. Vestabuyer - I have trouble understanding what really took place ? * Did you just send a message asking them if the parts XXX could be held for you until 14+ days? Then the answer seems to harsh. * Did you actually place an order for the parts and telling them "I believe I can keep an invoice open for up to two weeks." thus ignoring their stated terms of business, then I don´t see anything wrong with their answer. A BL-order is a business contract - they make the offer and you accept it under the terms that are stated. You can´t accept it AND at the same time change the terms. The world doesn´t work that way, sorry.
  18. Hi danin! God job ! Looks a lot like the Swedish navy stealth covettes, like the HMS Visby: So maybe your thought was to make it stealthy ! CopMike

  22. From Steve : its a fair question to be sure. I've covered it before, but its good to get any questions out of the way for the new folk. the more people who know the answer the better. The box sizes are a standard set now to improve palettization. What this means is that when we load a pallette onto a truck, the more full it is the better. We changed to a standard set because it allowed us to maximize our pallettes and what this has done is allowed us to significantly reduced the amount of trucks that hit the road. so while larger boxes may seem like a waste, they have significantly reduced the carbon foot print of the LEGO group (significantly). This is why sometimes you'll get a set that seems small for the box. the set may have been 'just' too big for the next size down but since there's no in-between size (as this would screw up the whole system) it just has to go in the next size up. now as for the trays. I remember how cool the stuff in the 80's and 90's were. one thing that you need to know though is that the LEGO Group didn't pay a whole lot of attention to what everything going into a box was actually costing them. This means that when we made this insanely nice boxes and didn't track super well the implecations of that, we actually were hurting ourselves badly. This is why we moved away from flip tops (for the most part, sometimes it's used as a marketing tool) and internal trays. hope that helps you get a better understanding. steve
  23. Now the lights were turned on inside Mr CopMike´s thick skull - Stupid Mode On!! Now for the lame excuses:1. It´s a trap! 2. It really is an optical illusion. 3. I had little time to build, had a train to catch. 4. It a MOC in Andy Warhol style. 5. I need a brain surgery. 6. Everybody knows they never went to the moon, it´s taken in a backyard in Enfield, CT. This picture shows it a bit better: Read more here! Thanks DJ for getting the facts right and me straight ! CopMike
