Who will come to Eurobricks Event 2011?
CopMike replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Yes, but again - what´s the question !I vote for a 5 star hotel for loose change - Do It Now Ras! -
After a month driving around California (and a visit to Legoland Carlsbad ) with a extremely low coverage of Eurobricks from my side, I'm back here. I will do that, below are my thoughts on the questions for the time being. TLG has a policy of not talking about what will come in the future, I suppose that will be the answer. No yet, but the first one has passed the "1000"-bar and is now in the next stage. They will refine it and turn it into a real built model to see if the review of it is successful. Read more what Paal Smith-Meyer says about it here. See question 1. See question 1. Our LDD afficiado Superkalle knew the answer to that one, thanks !I just guessing here but I think you would like to see the supercar or a look-alike produced. Give Cuusoo a try, it's a possible way to go. I´ll be back asap when I get answers from TLG. UPDATE: I got an answer from TLG and it´s pretty much what I expected: than what I answered above (my added text). Sorry about that but I guess that´s just the way the competiton & market works and what the strategy needs to be !

Happy birthday guys!!! I hope the rest of the crew down in Malaysia gives you a BIG party Hinckley!

It's that time again to make your voice heard Go to the Embassy forum and fill in the survey and give your thoughts
-
From TLG: Now go here to fill in the new survey !

Please don't write my username within " ", I'm a real person even if I have a username. As you write in your last part of your post, the Ambassador Program is for one thing about feedback from the communitys. On Eurobricks this is done through the Embassy forum. A search there shows that you've posted there one time. That suggestion has been brought to TLG. So I guess there's two sides on how active one is on the forums. There's no way every sub-forum on EB could have an Ambassador! As you know? - EB are for all types of Afol's and the Amb of EB should represent ALL of them. That was what I said I would do when I put my name up for nomination two&half years ago. That's what I've done on EB through the Embassy forum and the frontpage. If you think that Technic haven't gotten enough attention, I feel for you, but you need to be more active in the Embassy! And I think you should apply through a special Technic forum, I'm sure you'll do a great job! I'm proud of what I've done here on EB so far, and hope to keep doing so!

Spoiler/Warning: In my reply here below I will use some non-megablocks language and really voice my opinion - it´s not directed to anyone specific and you all like me have the full right to have a diffrerent view ! C´mon, how much whining and crying about the minifigs can you puke out ! Let me give you my point of view on 3 things: The Hype & Price In thread after thread people want TLG to produce new minifigs that are uncommon, like new cool torso prints, utensils and professions. And when they do - that´s wrong ? There´s now way in a very warm place down in the basement that this would have happened with minifigs in ordinary sets, so just be glad and enjoy them. If you don´t want them - don´t buy them! As for the price of lowest $1.99 and then up, do compare with the magnet packs etc like someone mentioned above. I do understand when shops like TRU jacks the price but still ..... I think it´s a more than reasonable price. The Quality How bad is it - really ? How many minifigs have broken? How bad is the printing? Is it not possible to use them in Moc´s? I know the plastic materiel isn´t the same as in, for example a red 2x4, but nowadays TLG uses around 20 different types for different parts, like in Bionicle, weapons etc. This "lower" quality is what makes them possible to produce, and I don´t mind a bit!!! The availability Now for some BASIC things on how the world works. TLG makes a wide assortment of different set, lines etc and then invite the wholeseller, chains and other resellers to look at the products. They then decide which one they want to sell in their shops. That´s why some chains doesn´t have them and others do, and the quantitys they have. TLG can´t tell the wholesellers how many sets/which sets they´ll by - or break in to the toysection at night, fill up the shelfs and then bill them!! TLG only produceses so much that they think will sell and get orders on, they don´t want to go back to around 2003-2004 when they had made lots & lots of sets which wouldn´t sell - like the 7201. That one ended up being sold for as low as 3 sets for $1! TLG do sell them on S&H so there is a good chance to get them without even leaving your home!! So to conclude: I think we should be happy that we´ve gotten so many new and cool figs at this price at a quality that´s acceptable AND we should keep our eyes on quality issues, the price and suggest new themes/looks for figs. Now this rant is over and we can go back to the normal program !

Happy birthday my friend, have a super-duper day down under !

Picture from Classic Castle. The problem is that white needs 2 rounds of printing on red to be "white". Here´s the response from TLG Quality Department:

The hamburgers are good in the restaurant, it´s a dream to get in to the employe shop & go crazy and the modelbuilders & the models in the modelbuilders area is great ! And there´s a lot of nice people and cool large models in the corridors. But you need to get a visitors badge & hook up with an employe for that ......

Let's celebrate our Reviewers Academy 2nd Anniversary!
CopMike replied to WhiteFang's topic in Forum Information and Help
Congratulations on the first 2 years of great reviewing!!! Great job by all the teachers and congrats to all the students that have "gratuated"! -
Oki doki, here we go again ! This is a survey run by me here on EB, being an Ambassador I got the question to do it through the Ambassador program, and it is the Lego Group (TLG) that have requested it. Or more specifically the LEGO Community Development Team, that I posted in the first post in the thread TLG needs to know what colors are missing in existing elements here. There you could give examples on which excisting parts that are needed in not yet produced colors. After that TLG compiled the list that you´re now able to vote on. The outcome of most wanted parts could then appear in sets because the designers could argue for that part refering to what Afol´s need. An example of designers doing this (but without asking first) is the dark green windows in Grand Emporium. The upper brass thought plain white would do but the designers stood their ground and whoila!! I think that if you read around a bit, like the first post, and the other thread about this you might not be so outgoing and questioning about this, and using hard words like hell. I do give you that using color change might indeed have been a bad use of words. Now enjoy our newly won freedom to give input to TLG and let´s hope the pieces keep coming !

As seen on the Youtube clip which I put into your previous post, there will be two !
