  1. id certainly like to have this fire station in my town! all those bays and rigs makes ya feel real safe. any plans for a hospital?
  2. ur exactly right, my idea is most passenger car/truck/vans are 4 wide (im experitmenting with a 5 wide Hummer and exotic sport cars :-X ). all my heavy trucks are 6 wide. being im soon to graduate from college (second time) for diesel technology i have a lot of hands on time with the rigs and came down to the conclusion that 6 wide is the right size. for example, those trucks will fit right in with my 6 wide tractor trailor... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=162721 and i think this is a better size for a dump truck (note mine is a tri-axle, not rlly happy with the lenght yet)... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=242011 those 4 wide heavy trucks just seem way to small for my taste. there are a few that i will re-build from the sets i own and mod them to be 6 wide...
  3. wow, those look great! i dont have it in me to mod my Tie army (besides, ill go broke... *n* ). i like the blue on black mainly because it stands out and gets noticed but it does look funny now that i seen what a gray version would look like. any thoughts on the Tie Bomber in terms of being modded?
  4. i dunno about u, but ill take two rocket launchers, a flashlight and maybe that snazzy fire fighters water cannon, whatever the hell this is (http://shop.lego.com/ByCategory/Product.as...75&cn=207&d=443), police detectives kit and go save the world 8-| *wacko* almost forgot to get myself some squishy squids, pirate sword and meat clever and a knights sword incase i run into the black knight *knight* and a tea set incase i get thirsty *y*
  5. ah yes, i seen these the other night but the garbage truck link wasnt working. i definatly *wub* the garbage truck...there will be at least three in my fleet. the dump truck...well...that will stay on the shevles as far as im concerned. far to big and bulky for me. just like that bridge transport rig.
  6. i like that, definatly looks like it will handle some rough terrain and not miss a beat.
  7. Working on the door situation, im slowly piecing together another order from BL. i ran out of some windshields, car chassis and fenders (thats why half my vehicles have such blocky bodys LOL). BTW, misterphes...that the new "off-road" fire truck...just worked it a little bit. im not completly happy with it so its going in for surgery again. *Edit* im re-working the structure of my BS folder so all the pics/links wont work. ill correct them as i change things around. gunna try a new way to set up the folder.
  8. go ahead man, thats what building is all about!
  9. Cant believe i didnt reply when i added new pics |-/ anyway, i added 2/3 of the pics. i am still debating weather or not ill make a switch to photobucket because i dislike brickshelf. ill get around to adding the rest ASAP, its been so nice outside that i been grillin, chillin and drinkin lots of beer :-D
  10. i have this reoccuring dream for the past few years, maybe once every month. im in a department store (cant remember the name, sometimes its wal-mart, kmart, boscovs, value city, etc...) and i find the lego section stocked full of old ealy 90 to late 90 (before they went down hill) sets. the themes vary from town, space, western mostly. they are all marked down on clearence to super low prices. sometimes i talk to a sales accossiate who said they found a pile of old sets in the back, other times they just magically appear. then i gather every set on the shelf and thats usually when i wake up. last night my lego dream happened again and it was chock full of spyrious, those robot sets like the dinosour, the spaces ones with the magnets, space police 1 and 2 and blacktron. man, i wish that was real...i <3 those space sets. sadly, something like this happened a few times. for the longest time i was at value city and kept seeing 1896 trama team (about 10 on the shelf) and a few times i went to boscovs and found some sets from the previous release or two.
  11. Anyone else having a hard time finding this set? Alex, that garage is so nice...i definatly want to get this now so i can mod it *sweet*
  12. no thanx, ill stick with my town/city *wacko*
  13. haha, i was wondering what happened to my thread. i went back to edit it to add more and it was gone 8-
  14. Wow, i bought this set last night at TRU with thier B2G1F sale and i had my doubts on it...well let me tell u, it suprised me. The good: - Great size, feel and swooshability - Above average parts usage - Nice hatch area for the stretcher to be stored - Winch has a solid mount and feels sturdy The bad: - Only one real bad point for me, the blades on the propeller. these seem bulky, will be replaced ASAP i just cant get over how great this set feels and looks. i cant wait to get home to set it on display, this also give me modivation to re-build the helicopter from the town set that has the police van. while in no way does this come close to the ResQue helicopter of a few yrs ago (which i also own) but this will make a perfect life flight style copter. sorry, no pics. if wanted i could provide them with captions (batteries are dead, hence no pics >:-( )
  15. took some more pics (about 50), they turned out great. will upload ASAP. also ordered 48 wheels/tires of Bricklink so now i can accessorize :-D
  16. |-/ thanx, i may look to move it to photobucket instead...
  17. so i dun screwed up and revised a few MOCs. fine and dandy, but is there a way to move pictures or folders? for example, i have a folder name XYZ but then i update it. instead of putting the revised version inside the XYZ folder, could i just move the original XYZ into another folder?
  18. Thanx y'all... the police van is just a standard van from the one set with the helicopter but i added a few touches. so i did some more work today (still am), hope to get pics. also i have more to upload to my BS gallery from before. right now i have two almost finished rigs, box van, new style SUVs. several dump trucks. revised hot-rods, modded 2-face van, and more!
  19. Ok folks, added more to my gallery last night and i wanted to wait till it was public to make sure it looked ok. lets start with some cars... Fullsize: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=241977 station wagon, sedan, muscle-esque car and a "pimp car LOL Midsize: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=241988 little sedan and two hatch-backs Compact: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=241989 Just some generic econo-boxes Time for the SUVs... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=162715 Aww ya... and my favorite, the pick up trucks... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=162717 a Dually work truck, lifted truck and a stock truck (now heavily modded) and my small trailors... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=242010 just a regular boat trailor, i have a few others but no pics Rollback Tow truck... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=112803 version 1.0, currently in devolopment of v2.0 thats it for now, brickshelf takes forever to upload pics :-/
  20. Just picked up this set tonight because it had intrigued me since i first saw it...being im so into trucks and the like. id like to give my impressions on it. first off, the vehicle as a whole isnt as bad as i had thought it would be. The good: - the new windshield is actually pretty nice. - overall dimensions are pretty good to the rest of the new released "SUV" style sets. - new pieces (wind shield, "tailgates", nozzle) The bad: - axles are WAY to wide for the size of the truck. - the bed is small and unperportional to a real pick up. - the new "tailgate" is crude, still dont like the new hinges. - no doors, where have the doors gone? i miss them |-/ - new nozzle, WTF is up with this? can u say...akward? overall its not a bad set, the trailor is pretty nice and is easily combined with the fire-trucks trailor to make a nice utility trailor. easily modded into a slightly different vehicle, think explorer sport track-esque...or even a full fledge'd SUV. ill definatly need to use different axles, as these are far to wide and the tires stick out to much. i like this set and will definatly buy a few more.
  21. Im really diggin the pier, especially the beach. looks like a great addition to a city. that would be perfect for the Pier police set.
  22. Fairlane has a 390 "S" code (335 hp/427 torque) with a 4 speed. i used to wheel my truck but after my second yr of college it became a burden and i retired it to street duty LOL.
  23. So i dont have as many pics as i thought, so ill post what i have. Most are going to be of my cars and older versions of my other vehicles. most have been refined several times and finished since these pics were taken. Please note, i dont have the pieces to make these all one color so most of my MOCs are multi-colored...i know for the purists its a crime but its all i have to work with *wacko* My Brickshelf gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....Optikalillushun Police vehicles; two cruisers and one SPEC van: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1571199 i also have two patrol motorcycles, not pictured... ATVs: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1571074 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1571080 total of four ATVs, three black and one blue... Hotrods: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1571087 been HEAVILY modified since these pics... SnoKat: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=162726 Pretty much all i have uploaded for now, im going to upload the rest of my more current ones tonight and add to this later. Enjoy!
  24. I love cars and trucks... here are some pics of my truck: our 1966 Fairlane GT:
  25. thanx for the welcome, its hard to find a good general Lego forum. sad to say, i dont have pics of my newest MOCs like i thought i did. if i get a chance this weekend ill get some pics. little more about what i build...mainly pick up trucks, SUVs, construction equipment, dump trucks, cars, hot rods and the sort. i would LOVE to make a giant town one day like i seen on here and on Brickshelf. i plan on picking up the corner cafe to sorta start my town and rebuild some of my old fire depts. and such.
