Got some free time and finished (to a point) my 7991 moc. in this pics u can see i moved the container up to the cab, lenghtened the it by 1 stud and added dual rear axles. also i made the container lower by a few studs and added the reverse angle piece to the front of the rear axle. in this pic u can see the mild mods to the interior. i also changed the way the roof is help up for a little more sleek look. here u can see my version of a heavy truck mirror. it is held onto the roof. and here are two other angles to show the full lenght and mods.

These were FAR better police planes IMO http://guide.lugnet.com/set/1895 http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6344 IMO, a police plane is used for suvelience, why do we need such a large plane? not like they are going to be pulling over the other air craft in mid air. Lego releases so many police and fire sets because it whats appeals to little kids. a lot of kiddies have asperations to be police and fire fighters as kids.

i know this isnt no where as hard but we just got a puppy a few months ago and it is horrible to try to do something and watch him so he doesnt destroy the house. and forget about dropping anything on the floor, its gone before it even hits the floor right...almost like a puppy powered vacuum cleaner. glad to see im not the only one LOL X-D

Ever have lots of good ideas in ur head but no time to try them out? i been training for a new job and i have no time to tinker with my Legos, so the unfinished project(s) just sit there...staring me in the face. kind of disgusting to think of all the cool ideas layed out in ur head while staring at the MOC but no time to actual do them. i made this because i am working on the new recycle/garbage truck that Lego made this yr. its like half way done and i keep thinking "tomorrow ill finish it" but tomorrow never comes.

Picture-review of set 1656 (Evacuation Team)
Optikal Illushun replied to simonwillems's topic in LEGO Town
IIRC, these kind of trucks are used after the fire is done to clear the land and refurbish it. great little set, i wish i had this one. i had a lot of the early-mid 90s fire sets but this is one i never had :-/ -
u suck! i was going to add dual rear axles LOL. looks clean, makes me want to do it even more now. i have some more modifications (suttle but worthy).

Time to rationalise my Police Department?
Optikal Illushun replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Town
If u think u have to many marked cruisers, make some un-marked cars. -
I dispise my local Wal-Mart to the point that i want to see if crumble but they ran out K-Mart and Ames so its our only choice. They almost always never have ya i need and everything i dont. Thier Lego section is a joke, restocking is non-exsistant and they keep moving items around.

V-LV-10E I never cared for the trikes Lego offered but i did want a quad. i made my own quad version but those vastly oversized tires looked silly so i did a little tweaking and ended up with something much nicer. i suggest something along the lines of this: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2408901

4 or 6 stud wide cars, which do you prefer ???
Optikal Illushun replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Town
I think i said GENERAL, especially for truck dump bodies and flat bed trailors. u can argue this all u want, but it is all opinion. -

Optikal Illushun replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Town
Sava, u said exactly what i was going to. most cars and trucks are incedibly accurate if u base it on real life, which is what i do. my general rule of thumb is one stud is 1 1/4 foot...that works are pretty well. IMO, 6 wide cars look silly. unless its an exotic like a ferrari (which i would use 5 wide), anything over 4 is making is <insert that tiresome argument>. also having trucks 8 wide makes them look to big and bulky and they dont fit on the baseplates either. i can fit as much detail into a 4 wide as most can into a 6 wide car/truck so that doesnt bother me. 4 wide - cars and light trucks 5 wide - hummers and exotics 6 wide - flat nose medium and heavy trucks 8 wide - trains for my medium and heavy duty trucks i use a 4 wide cab with a 6 wide body. that makes it almost perfect scale. -
I like those, similiar to what i have. i do need a set of those technic treads, they look 10x better than the rubber tracks. here is mine: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=162726

i would love to do something like this as well. to make it even more real, i would add a mini construction site and a train yard.

But my 'rod is faster/quicker than the spyder or convertible *wacko* :-P

Lego Quality is Slipping
Optikal Illushun replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When i was a kid (90-96) and sets came with stickers it used to be small ones like for Octane gas stations or hologram panels for the space sets...so those i used. now at days, i dont use any stickers because there are so many |-/ i havent noticed any color differences but its kind of a shame, most of my pieces from the early 90s arent even dis-colored! -
i suggest something like this: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...l%3Den%26sa%3DN or this: http://www.publiquip.com/trailers/Manac-Re...r-992561589.htm give it a little shape but still useful.
