  1. If I could have three features in LDD in the next update they would be exporting to a Blender compatable format for the models, A way to add in custom elements/bricks, and a easier way to add custom decals. My reasons for the 2nd one is what if we want to suggest a new set on Ideas and want to add a new head piece for a Minifig or a new tool? Well as it stands from what I've learned you can get in deep trouble trying to add such things currently and the only other way to show off such a idea would be to have a knack with blender and make the set from the ground up in that. I think based off some of the sets I've seen on Ideas Lego is far more tolerant to custom decals in LDD seeing as there are new face decals and labels in quite a few sets I've seen and am supporting. By the way if I'm wrong on the new piece thing forgive me. I only looked into it for a hour last night before bed and I'm currently running on like 4 hours of sleep.
  2. Funny you should say that. I agree to the inclusion and am designing a set to submit over on Ideas. I 'm going to do a series too. Truck Ben, Johnny and Newton Crosby. Someone I support over there has a Technic submission under way but mine is minifigure scale. Just got to finish up the truck in LDD Before I submit the first one. "Hey Lego lips! Your momma was a double decker couch!"
  3. Thank you Ram. You both are great help.
  4. Ok small update but I wanted to show off my first Lego face decal for a custom as well as the companion Torso. Everyone say hello to Geno from Super Mario RPG the legend of the seven stars. A simple torso really since he is a living doll/Mannequin hero. I do hope he don't look too angry.
  5. Thanks again Lux I'm sorry to keep posting these silly topics when they are so easy to fix. Heh time to get looking for my measurements.
  6. Ok I have been looking everywhere on the excellent http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=12324 and I may have missed it if it's not already posted somewhere but I'm in need of some numbers. Specifically the HxW dimensions of certain decalable pieces. So far I have only the Torso measurements. The measurements I am looking for are for the minifigure head, minfig arms, Minfig Waists, Minfig legs, 2x2 tile, 1x2 tile, 2x4 tile, 2x2 round tile (not just for Pizzas and Waffles ), 1x1tile both square and round and a 8x16 tile. Geh thats all I can remember for sure tonight. I'll post more tomorrow if Lux or anyone else nasn't pointed me to a proper index. Anyway Take care everyone. If your going to Brick 2015 have a great time and get as many customs as you can. Never know when a idea may strike and you may not want to wait for the post.

  8. Thanks for the advice there. I will take a look at the index see if it helps and if so post my results. It is quite a rare color isn't it. Only one I can think of thats rarer is the Dark Purple from the Knight Bus set. Now thats a rare color.
  9. Nice history for ya screen name my friend. I never even thought about the soundtrack and vocie actor cost. That is indeed a costly thing I hope it works out though. As for your PS3 I have to quote a old bronze robot. "Not a clue." I only have a Wii U and it's a US model. Hope you figure it out.
  10. Oh I'm from the US myself I just want Lego to be truly international. I do hope that the testing phase in the US and Denmark go well. Or should I say Leg-godt?
  11. I'd hope Toy Tag podiums would be region free much like the Nintendo Amiibo. So as long as you had a copy of the game for your region it would work. No not stating a fact here just a hope. Also why is Italy getting such a embargo on the game? Are copyright laws tougher there or something cause I hate to hear anyone not get to play these games.
  12. Hope I'm not committing thread Necrosis here but I wanted to ask on a certain color. Anyone know of a good match to the Dark Turquoise that was used for the Technic Cyber Slam/ Competition series? If at all possible I want to find a Vinal Dye of this color for a minifigure Torso and such. Short of that does anyone make custom color parts like a Minifigure Torso thats in a color not of the standard bunch? If so I could use that service as a loop hole. Again sorry if this is a necrosis post. I don't want to break the rules but this is the official topic for colors as far as I'm aware.
  13. Dang it I knew it was. Thanks for that wish my post was better for the topic. Well I can fix that. I honestly hope Lego make a world based off the first Lego game ever made. I'd love to see a return of the classic Infomaniac and Brickster.
  14. Hey all been enjoying all the hype for Dimensions and am saving up for the Wii U copy. But I need your guys help on figuring out somethin so I can do some custom builds. The Midway exspansion is to be released next year and I fully plan to buy it but I want to make some arcade cabs to go with it in the meantime. I know how to go about all the pieces except one and that is the Joystick. Anyone know if the one being used for Defender in the Midway pack is a existing one or a new one? Link to a photo of the set: http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/lego/images/6/6d/71235.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20151004013827 Way too big to post in thread.
  15. Thanks very much for that Lux. I am glad you like em. I was thinking so. Glad the lines aren't too thin. I'll be sure to do the color change for the outlines when it comes time to print too. That logic makes a whole lot of sense to me. Thanks for the advice my friend.
  16. Hello everyone got a few designs I want to show off and get some feedback. So with out further ado let's show off some of my creations. Octan gas worker suit. Based off my late Grandfather who was a gas truck driver long ago. Syd Enoch's shirt. A bit of promotion for the game I'm developing with my team Terrier Games. Yes that is a Rope belt. A personal decal as this is my T-shirt. That is Plokman's. So what do you guys think so far? I'm not 100% on line thickness so advice on that would be welcome. More to come as I make em.
  17. Hmm nice find there Ram. Those could work. I'll have to look at em.
  18. Ok got a bit of a odd one here. But everyone has helped me figure out the other things I needed advice on so why not. Anyway I was thinking of some minifigures I want to make for my Collection (and possibly offer as commissions if I get good at it. Who knows?) and I thought of a couple from a old video game The Neverhood. Now decals for these characters couldn't be more simple if they were classic Town designs from the 80s. No that ain't my problem. The problem lies in their head shapes. The game was designed by Douglas Tenaple and one quirk his characters have if they aren't human is their conical head shapes. Now most of you would read that and say a cone of some type in place of the head would do. Well I'll let Klaymen here explain. http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/theneverhood/images/3/35/Bioklaym-1-.gif/revision/latest?cb=20120718032218 (sorry can't post the image for some reason) As you can see it's more of a upside down cone. Now for my question. Does anyone by chance know of any custom parts or normal part that would work? I may have to go the sculpty route but I want it to be as Lego as possible and sculpty just isn't plastic enough. Any ideas or tips?
  19. Oh thats what you meant. Hmm that may be a good index we should put together here. If Lux thinks it's a good idea of course.
  20. Easy there Dark he was just trying to help. Plus it's not that much of a Blanket saying Laser printers can do white. Hmm Wax printers I don't even know how those would work. But I do know Dot Matrix printing. Google is indeed your friend. Also my enemy when it comes to priceing stuff. Laser printers are a expensive bunch but much cheaper than thermal. I think next time I get a new printer (Which won't be for ages seeing my HP inkjet is a beautiful little thing.) It will be a laser printer. Heh just a crazy idea I just thought of and I may make a custom of it if I can get the right Dimensions for a 2x2 plate. A old Dot matrix print out with the green and white paper and all.
  21. Well I guess tan is a easier thing. Yeah I thought so on the white and yellow. I figured that printing on the Trans paper would be like Sharpie on tape. I guess I'll try the double decal method for the glasses thing. As for the torsos I was planing on useing white paper for them always. Just faces are smaller and I have no clue how to just cut out the pieces that small.
  22. Drat I'm kind of hesitant to ask but would texturing the white work? I mean on one of my decals I have a name patch on it that is meant to look like a old embroidery tag and as such The white on it is textured to look more cloth like. Hold up one sec This is the one. I know the Octan wouldn't show but what about the white around Ray? Ah so more or less have a double decal for the situation. Thats actually better than my idea if that is how you meant it. Also the tan used to signify wrinkles on a yellow face would it come out ok with clear Decals?
  23. Ah that makes more sense there. I never even though about the white being labeled plain. I have no problem with making it a proper white to suit the part. (I work with color pallets all the time as a sprite artist) But yeah I need to take that into account. I'll take a good look at the old thread. Thanks Lux Hmm true for plain white anyway. But if you make it just the right shade of grayish white it'll pass I suppose. It definitely won't be Lego white. I'll look around see if I can figure it out. Yesh I can't afford that kind of ink at the moment. I just had a thought. How about a stencil for applying white paint to go under the decal so it'll show up white? I'm not steady enough with my hands to do it free hand though. That is a idea.
  24. Hey all, Been getting my bearings around the threads and all and I noticed something kind of worrying on the Custom Decal front. From what I've read there seems to be a difficulty with having white in you decal design. Especially if your are making your decals with something like Testors Waterslide decal paper or similar. My question is is there a reason that White can't be printed with a inkjet printer and show up on the decals. I know the reason why Metallic colors can't be done since Printers can't print metallic (which you think by now we would have ones with addable inks that can) without it just being Grey. I'm sorry if this has been explained else where I don't want to make a thread on a covered subject. But I thought I'd ask the experts. Main reason I ask is I want to have whites for the eyes of my minifigures with glasses like Good Cop's and also you got to have white for the Octan logo. Anyway let me know and I'll figure it out from the pros. Thanks all, Plokman
  25. Ah I misunderstood what you meant then. Pardon me for that. Now that you mention It all you'd have to do with your method is use clear decal paper (I think) and just have the metallic parts of the design be white so they would be clear and allow the metal to show through. I hope thats a working method I'm not sure if Clear Decal paper would be viable as I've heard it makes decals lighter than intended. Very true I mean there are many factors. I guess I never saw the old prints seeing as the oldest Mini figure I ever had was a M-Tron. I will have to ask Raminator on his sucsess here. I do hope it works as I mainly want to pad print the faces for my Minifigures. Decals for those are tiny after all and while I'm sure I could put them on I just want a method thats as durable as real Lego ink. With nothing short of Po'leesh Remover of Nah'ee rubbing it off. (Sorry had to use the movie quote. Such a cool idea.)
