  1. Thanks for the comments, Cheese. I didn't mention it in my last post, but I actually have you to thank for cracking my Skeleton Men dilemma. I was looking through your Flickr when I saw your Onomatopoeia and realized that Lego made giant eyeball heads. As soon as I saw that it all fell into place and the idea for the motorcycle helmets came almost immediately after. You're helping me even when you're not trying to. So, this is a fun bit of coincidence, but I've known that guy for years from a completely unrelated forum having nothing to do with Legos. And we're friends on Facebook. And him posting that image on Facebook is actually what got me into this whole crazy Lego customization thing in the first place. He actually gave me some real helpful hints to get started. And I really have to thank you for the Scarecrow Robot ideas. I was actually beginning to run out of ideas for villains. I actually hadn't had any ideas in a couple of months until happened upon the the alligator man figure at a store selling individual mini-figures and had a realization that he would be perfect for the Gator Ghoul. It probably helped that Gator Ghoul was one I'd been trying to figure out for awhile. But I'm definitely going to have to build myself a little army of Robot Scarecrows now thanks to you.
  2. So, I recently got back on a kick and have come up with a few more Scooby-Doo characters (mostly villains). Forgive the reposts, but I took newer, better photos and have updated a couple of figures since the last time I posted. Many of these were made with much thanks wholly or at least partially to BigRedCheese. 3. Does anybody know what the torso from this Mad Hatter is from? https://www.flickr.com/photos/132469960@N07/20032492146/in/pool-2861544@N21/ I also can't figure out the torso and leg pieces for this Archer. https://www.flickr.com/photos/68920439@N04/19646864530/in/pool-2861544@N21/ I'm trying to make my own Batman '66 villains and these designs are too good to not use.
  4. I've had these for a couple of weeks, but I'm just now getting around to putting them up. Charlie is finally finished and I found a nearly ready made figure for a monster that only needed one small tweak. Charlie: https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/ The other monster I have is the Ape Man from the original series. http://scoobydoo.wik...om/wiki/Ape_Man I just used the Gorilla Suit Guy and popped a Stormtrooper head on underneath his mask. I really liked the added effect of the zipper. It reminded me of the buttons on the back of the Zombie's mask from the Mystery Machine set. https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/ https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/ https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/ http://alpha.brickli...62#T=S&O={} http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb0817&idColor=90#T=S&C=90&O={"color":90}
  5. Hey, guys. I'm sorry if this has already been stated somewhere(I looked, but I couldn't find anything on here), but is the AT-AT retired? It was everywhere before Christmas but it's suddenly sold out every single place I've looked. And if it's not sold out, it's been jacked up by a third party seller.
  6. That's terrific. Do you have a picture? I'd love to see it with that helmet.
  7. Oh, man. I really like that one, too. I'll wait for the aviator helmet I ordered to come in, and see how I feel about it. But that one looks really great, too. I'm not even sure which I like more.
  8. Sorry about that, guys. I saw last night that my links weren't working, but I passed out before I could fix them. I've gone back and changed all of the links in my previous posts, so they should be working for everyone now. But. just to save some time from having to go back and look, here are the Charlie and Space Kook images I was trying to share last night. Again, Charlie's going to have a different helmet and purple hips, but it gets the idea across. But Space Kook is finished. Charlie: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12498562_1029247820432119_1072100772_n_zpsgqzsoasp.jpg Improved Space Kook: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12476489_1029250067098561_1935334510_n_zpswtso4s6a.jpg Old Space Kook: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12442977_1026044177419150_1624812169_n_zps65kn7gzq.jpg It's hard to tell in photos, but I actually changed more than just the helmet on Space Kook. I made his entire body dark azure instead of the darker blue it was originally. It's easier to tell the difference by looking at Charlie. He has New Space Kook's azure arms and Old Space Kook's blue hands. Besides the fact that his new helmet didn't match his old body, I just felt the dark azure matched better with the pictures I was seeing from the cartoon.
  9. Don't even worry about the customization thing. I wasn't upset. Thanks for all the help. I'll keep those things in mind for the Hex Girls a little further down the road. But I'll probably order a pair of legs for my gargoyle soon. I have a update on Space Kook and Charlie, though. Most, but not all, of my pieces have come in. But by mixing and matching I was able to see about what they'll look like when I'm done. Space Kook is actually done outside of some painting I may eventually do. Maybe. And Charlie is almost there in the picture I've got, but his helmet hasn't arrived so I just used Space Kook's for an idea. And I realized today that I should use purple hips instead of blue, so those will be on their way soon. Charlie: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12498562_1029247820432119_1072100772_n_zpsgqzsoasp.jpg Space Kook: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12476489_1029250067098561_1935334510_n_zpswtso4s6a.jpg And thanks for the credit, but you don't have to worry about that. I don't mind. I think I may actually like yours more. I know you suggested that top to me, but I didn't know how I'd feel about it until now. It looks good.
  10. Thanks for all the compliments and advice. I had to look up that Chima character, but I think you guys may be on to something for Cutler. I may have try that. I don't have the right shade of gray legs for the gargoyle, and it's kind of hard to tell what shade pieces are in pictures. I think the gargoyle is blueish-gray, but I'm not sure and I don't want to get the wrong shade. I like your Space Kook, but it still seems too drastically different for me. I think it's mostly the chest with all the wires. I really like the head and helmet though. I think the real issue with Space Kook isn't our ideas for how to make him, it's that his design is just very minimalist and it's hard to translate into little blocky people. I have, however, had a slightly better idea for my own version. I'm changing his entire body to dark azure to match this new helmet that just arrived for him. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271781424072 I already like his look much more even without doing actual customization. And I know it's not really the right forum, but just little red and black highlighting and I think it might be perfect. Like this. http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/Space%20Kook%20helmet_zpslbnpaveo.png Again, sorry if it's not the right place, but I wanted to share my idea and it seemed more pertinent for this conversation than going to another thread just to show that one picture. And this is only a thought I had. I may not even end up painting it. As I said, I kind of like it as it is already. As far as Charlie goes, his arms and legs look very bright to me. And looking at an actual dark azure Lego piece in hand, it seems like the right shade to me. But, all that really matters is whatever makes each of us happy. And I guess we'll see how it turns out some time this week because I ordered all of the pieces a few days ago and they're on their way now. Also, I realized recently that the skeleton guy from the Halloween wave of blind bags makes for at least the start of a good Skeleton Man. I still haven't figured our how to give him a giant cyclops head without painting, since the only two cyclops heads there are are A)the wrong colors and B) have an eye on the front and back. But, you know, if you just don't mind them not having a cyclops head, you have ready made Skeleton Men right there. And I saw you mention the zombie cheerleader's hair being good for Dusk from the Hex Girls. To further that, I think that the Vampire Lady's dress and face from that same wave would do for a pretty good Thorn. Do you have any more ideas for making the whole trio?
  11. I can get behind this. I'm constantly on the lookout for Scooby-Doo Lego customs. And they're about impossible to find. And literally all I am interested in making as far as Lego customs go are Scooby-Doo characters that likely won't get made.
  12. Welp, I went ahead and ordered all the pieces I just mentioned for my Charlie, so we'll see how this turns out. I also, ordered this helmet for my Space Kook because why not. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271781424072
  13. Sorry, I just saw this. When I wrote that I didn't have any figures constructed, but I now have a few put together. They're all to varying degrees of success, and the best two really are Miner Forty-Niner and the Puppet Master(which I fully stole from your designs). But I still haven't made a Charlie. I'll share my recipe though if you'd like to give it a shot. But first, here are the few characters I've made so far. Old Iron Face: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12467701_1026044197419148_1889839250_n_zps66mnyjoq.jpg Captain Cutler: (I'm not completely happy with this one as it's just the diving suit with a blank glow in the dark head.) http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12468229_1026044194085815_1485709613_n_zpsw4n2ih5q.jpg Spooky Space Kook: (This one is a work in progress for sure, but I am at least happy with my idea of using a glow in the dark skull.) http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12442977_1026044177419150_1624812169_n_zps65kn7gzq.jpg The Creeper: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12436017_1026044167419151_651920445_n_zpsvdivh0ul.jpg Puppet Master: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12463510_1026044160752485_1684748285_n_zpsz6lsejgk.jpg Miner Forty-Niner: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/702824_1026044140752487_964605020_n_zpstporviva.jpg The whole set: http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12467777_1026044210752480_116466352_n_zpsdxvcojbr.jpg Also, these aren't figures I've altered in any way, but I am using them as Scooby-Doo villains for my display. http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/comixlegos/12463581_1026044200752481_853410670_n_zpsyzafvfhl.jpg The gargoyle makes for a decent enough Gargoyle of Notre Dame from What's New Scooby-Doo. I'm sort of using the de-horned wampa as a half decent Snow Ghost, but I feel like it would make a really great 10,000 Volt Ghost if it were painted Orange with some yellow accents around the pointy fur. And finally, the two specters make for pretty decent versions of the Green Ghosts. I'd certainly like to make them green and give them new faces, but I have literally no idea how to go about properly painting Lego figures. As far as Charlie goes, I thought about using these parts, though I have yet to buy them. Blue aviator helmet: http://alpha.brickli...7&O={"color":7} Flesh smiley face: http://alpha.brickli...lor=90#T=C&C=90 Purple torso, dark azure arms and legs and darker blue hands.
  14. You know, that was my immediate thought. But when I looked on Bricklink, they heads I saw looked different. Thanks. I'll look harder next time.
  15. Does anybody know what head that is? I'm trying to cobble together my own Scooby-Doo villains for the new sets. The parts for Captain Cutler and the Space Kook are already on their way. And I'm very close to a Miner Forty-Niner and Charlie the Robot. And I could actually almost put the Puppetmaster together with the few old figures I do have if I could just figure out where that head came from. The torso is obviously a Jedi Knight Luke, so I've got that much covered.
