Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Honestly, whether the movies are good or not shouldn't matter, at least when it come to Lego stuff. Fantastic 4 can be a complete failure and I wouldn't care because it still means we finally get minifigs of them and Galactus too. Same goes for these avengers movies, I'm excited for a chance to get the characters from the x-mansion in retail sets and a few new mutants as well. Same goes for Shang Chi, (didn't get any of the og sets, plus they can fix the skintone) Dr. Doom, doombots, and maybe even some Fantastic 4 variants. (shirtless thing, whatever version of Johnny we don't get) That's not even mentioning some of the crazy rumors we've heard or the other characters we haven't seen yet. We also have no clue what the builds could be, Doomstadt would be awesome and I would certainly welcome a playset of the fox x-mansion. So to me, as an AFOL, I don't really care about the quality of these movies, as long as they provide new figures and builds to fill in the gaps of my Marvel collection. -
My biggest issue is all the bright blue on the mech. I thought it was because of the mech cockpit piece, but it was used in dark blue for the Thanos mech in 2023 so I'm not convinced it wasn't available. I'm tempted to switch the cockpit to dark blue and the evo limbs to dark grey to see if it works better. The other blue pieces should be easy to switch, so it's really just about those 2 parts. As silly as it sounds, I feel like the red horns really push it over the edge for me. I don't mind the hands and the belt, but the horns just makes it look jumbled. I also wonder how they would have looked with silver armor, a white helmet, and white wings/mini dragon. I think they would have looked much better than they do currently

These sets are pretty wacky. Rontu, as a set, looks pretty good to me, but it doesn't do a great job of looking like the show. The mech dragon is not really what I expected, it's like a mini version of Jiro from season 1. It doesn't even look much like a mech, other than the jet boosters on the wings. The color scheme is also very weird with all the light grey and white. The mech is cool, but I'm not convinced by all the bright blue it uses. The combat vehicle is what I expected, overpriced but not terrible. The minifigs are strange. The spectral dragonians have too many colors, and the color blocking is also weird. Why is the armor dark blue? Why the gunmetal helmets? The red is so out of place, but I guess they wanted to tie in the reveal blade feature into the general color scheme. The ninja are cool though, and the reveal blade is an awesome new mold. I'm a little confused about the Rox minifig, because in the individual picture, her arms and hat look reddish brown, but in the picture of the Rogue mech dragon the arms and hat look dark brown. Which one is it? Or am I seeing things?

That's not what it says though? The text says "illustrated cover art treatment", basically acknowledging the fact that there's some work done with the lighting, shading, etc. That's my biggest thing with the set, the box art looks phenomenal, but the irl picture doesn't look that good, and it has me wondering which is closer to how it feels in hand...

From my experience, this is far more pronounced at Target. Walmart is much more likely to offer not only more sets but the larger ones as well. Still not 100% guaranteed though. If I had to guess, so many sets are ordered online nowadays that the costs (not just money, but shelf space!) of offering every set physically is not worth the number of sets that would be sold, especially for larger ones. Not even my local lego store offers everything! I also prefer physical shopping, but I've had to resort more and more to online shopping nowadays because the shelves can be so spotty. These could be very interesting, but I'm worried they won't mix with the current dragonians. I like the idea of displaying all of my season 3 sets together, but if they obviously clash I'll have to reconsider.

I'm not sure if this has already been done, but I'm having a hard time finding anything, so I'll just ask. I'm making a SP3 moc and I need the torso and leg decals from the officers. Jawson's torso and legs would also be useful. Can anyone here help? There's two other things I'm looking for: the green alien head from the 2024 BAM (this one might be tricky) and the 2024 prisoner jumpsuit (ideally transparent, I want to try using reddish orange) I got this one through the Lego Builder App, still looking for the other requests though!

Jurassic Properties 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
One important thing to note: these rules only apply to members of LAN (lego ambassador network) so they won't really affect the sources of leaks very much. It will effect who covers them, but that's all. -
Jurassic Properties 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

Are you sure? I don't see anything that says they are customs. The same page is posting about a bunch of other Jurassic World toys being revealed -
Kur's look was completely unexpected, but very cool. I'm hoping the actual figure has a printed arm, since it seems they didn't add any printed arms to the other minifigs. Also, supposedly, the jet mech has a spectral dragon side build that combines with Thundefang. Makes sense given the unused clips on Thunderfang (wrists, back of the head, lower back) and very interested to see how it ends up working. My most hyped set by far!

The new info we have makes this summer wave feel repetitive in a few ways, but I'm still very excited for a lot of what's coming! I'm very confused by the red knight mech and the ninja combat vehicle. It just feels like different (and worse ppp) versions of what we just got in August. Another large ninja vehicle for $90, and another large display-oriented mech. I don't really expect much from either of those sets right now. Rogue's mech dragon having less than 600 parts for $70 has be disappointed. Hopefully it'll still be cool, but I'm tempering my expectations when it comes to value. Arin's spinjitzu mech could be fun, especially if it has some kind of feature that allows the mech to do spinjitzu (maybe a spinning waist function?) The transforming jet mech sounds like it could be fantastic, and seeing the part count has me all the more excited! I wonder what direction it's going to take, something like starscream or maybe a gerwalk mech (look it up). If Sora's bike mech is anything to go by, the gerwalk is more likely, but who knows. The temple bounty is the most interesting of all of these! Getting a huge villain set is really unbelievable. Given the name and size, I'm expecting this bounty to have a significant structure on it, with at least 2 levels like the movie bounty and maybe a smaller one closer to the front. I'm also hoping the set comes with all of the F5, or at least Zarkt and the two summer ones, since I have no interest in the arc dragon and would like an easy way to finish the collection. I'm looking forward to hearing more about these!

What's stranger is that New Elementary lists pretty much all ninjago minifig parts as being available. I remember looking at things like the purple wolf clan warrior parts since I was considering ordering more. Why are they all gone now?

I was excited to see this set and it doesn't disappoint! They improved Arin's color scheme from the buggy this year (no more sand green or purple!) and the build itself loos very substantial for $50. Ras' dragon looks very dinky, but I think that's because the Riyo head piece is oversized for the size of the dragon. I also wonder what the second cockpit underneath the dragon is for, maybe there's another craft that can separate out? That would give the 2 sets of wings a practical use. I'm very surprised to see Ras be a reuse of this summer's minifig, but I'm super glad since I didn't get either of the sets he comes in. Arin looks to be new and different from the one in the chaos dragon, which is great. Only getting three figs is a bummer though, and has me worried Zarkt will be exclusive to the arc dragon. Can't wait to see more images!

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
From what I understand, there's some confusion as to whether the set is MCU or comic based, the rationale being the design is close enough to the comic design that the people who saw the set got confused about what it was based on. I actually commented on this back in September, but it seems it was lost in the discussion. And it seems most lego leak reporters only looked at the initial leak and not any of the followups. I would enjoy getting a Fantasticar set though, since the comic design is classic and the film design looks quite good as well. -

This is the comparison that sours the set for me. It's not just the part count, the museum is larger in every dimension except for width. The x-mansion is just a little too small, and it makes the interior feel more limited that I would want. I understand the Mansion has always had a large yard, but part of me feels they could have made an section that extends forward and lets the mansion itself fill the baseplates a bit more. Also super weird to have what is obviously Beast's lab but not have him included. As for the minifigs, the new ones look great! My only issue is that Magneto's chest printing looks weirdly saggy, but everything else is pretty good. Gambit, Bishop, Jean Grey, and Iceman are all done about as well as I expected, very nice. I'm super disappointed with professor x though, not getting the dark green suit is just silly. Using the super generic face doesn't help either, I feel like he should look slightly less stern. Cerebro looks awful, it looks like he just slapped a bowl on top of his head. I get they wanted to have the cable coming out the top, but I feel this helmet in light grey or silver would be a much better approximation (https://brickset.com/parts/6469876/mini-helmet-no-87) Sadly, the best existing color, sand blue, is rare and expensive. I'm really hoping we get a Sentinel set next year, because I'm not really interested in picking this up for myself. -
Woah, these leaks have been crazy lately! Very unexpected, but there's some great stuff here! I want a better look at the printing on the draconians, especially since the one we got a close up on appears to have a mustache? Very strange look, but the dragon backpack is extremely clever! In conjunction with the shoulder armor and helmet it looks fantastic. The ninja are also strange to me. I don't mind the techy look, but the top of the hoods throw me off. It looks like hair or some kind of energy effect, not armor. I like getting more transparent katanas though, they look great. The forbidden five look plain to me, but hopefully that's just the low resolution. Same goes for Arin and Sora, since it looks like both are still using their season 1 torsos. The sets are pretty neat. The spinners are the best we've seen in a while, hopefully the two pack has one that looks like shatterspin. The forest dragon is nice, but I'm not excited for another small dragon. The storm rider is super unique and looks great! It does look small for the price though, and I would like to get another draconian too, but it's ok. The chaos dragon is fantastic! I really like how the dragon has an ogre like stance, super unique for Ninjago. The wings look huge, and the colors are great. Also like the chains hanging of the arms and the neck, with the cuffs as well. Hopefully this does interact well with the draconian village, that would be fantastic. I'm completely sold on the chaos dragon, and the storm rider may win me over, but I want to see more! At this rate, it shouldn't take long, right?

Ongoing Transformers Rumors and Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to NoOneOfImportance's topic in LEGO Licensed
You know, ever since the rumor of a non 18+ transformers set got out there, I've had the same terrible thought in my head, and I haven't seen anyone here say it either. What if it's just a brickheadz? Despite clearly being marketed for collectors, they're only marked as 10+, so it would be correct to call it not an 18+ set. A leaker also confirmed there's no new themes coming out in the first half of 2025, so either this transformers set comes out after may, or it's under an existing theme. We do have a list of brickheadz for 2025 and there's no transformers to be seen on it, but I do think it's still possible we may see one soon. Maybe I'm too much of a downer, but I feel like it's likely that's what this means, unless there's some evidence to the contrary that I haven't seen. Hopefully we find out soon. -
Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm very torn on the Cyclone. Metal Sonic looks great, very happy with that figure. The body of the Cyclone is pretty good, but the legs have issues. I have a feeling the design was very constrained by Lego's standards. The upper legs are too tall, such that when the legs fold up, they stick too far down. Also, the feet are too long, such that they can't fold up against the wings. This makes the 'plane mode' look less like a plane and more like the walker just sat down. Looking at the version that appears in Sonic Frontiers, I guess they based the transformation on that version? But the look is definitely based on SA2, with the black lower legs. I'll probably still pick it up and heavily mod the legs to see if I can make them fold up more compacted. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Ok, there's actually a few updates on the Galactus set. For transparency sake, I'm getting this from the Brick Tap discord, from members LDF10 (lego_minecraft_goat?) and its joever. It might actually be based on the movie, just that the design is similar enough to the comics to confuse someone who saw it. The set has <450 parts and The Thing is a minifig, not a big fig. There is also no fantasticar included, meaning most of the parts go towards Galactus himself. As for some personal speculation, with that part count I suspect the set will be very similar to the buildable figures we've been getting, but it still has more parts than most of them, so maybe it's a bit bigger or more intricate? It could be more like the Iron Man one from 2022, since that one has more parts than the others we've been getting. I personally wanted bigger (think Monkey King Mech and Cole's Titian Dragon Mech size) but this scale would be good enough for me. Thing being a minifig doesn't annoy me that much since he isn't too huge in the film anyways, from what we've seen so far. Hopefully Silver Surfer is also included. Very excited! -

They could use the 'hulking out' face we got from the hulkbuster last year, but still would look weird. In other news, the Galactus set seems to actually be real, likely comic based, and 'much bigger' than the sentinel from the x-mansion. This has been my dream marvel set ever since the Fox/Disney deal was announced. The hype is real! -
Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree with the rest of you, the campfire set is pretty bland. I like the robot builds, but with them being G.U.N and not Eggman's, they don't really have a place in my collection. The Sonic minifig looks weird too, especially the mouth. for $20 dollars, it doesn't feel very substantial either, I guess that's just the cost of included the speed sphere in such a small set. The biolizard, on the other hand, looks fantastic! I was expecting Super Shadow to be the only minifig included, so I'm very glad to see Super Sonic too. The build looks very nice, and a good size too. For $40, it's perfect, but it looks like the actual price is $45, which is still good. Definitely looking forward to picking it up! I hope so too, but I feel like it's more likely that we'll be waiting for at least a month or two. My mind goes to the reveal of the Death Egg Robot, which happened months after the initial reveal of the rest of the wave. I would love to be wrong, but we'll see what happens. -
Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
This set list is very exciting! I've been waiting for a Cyclone model ever since I realized that the Red Tornado would blend too much with Eggman's builds. I built one in Mecabricks earlier this year and found it to be a challenge, so I hope Lego can do it justice. Super Shadow vs the Biolizard is also very interesting, the Biolizard feels like a relatively obscure pick compared to the rest of the theme, but I'm interested to see how Lego tackles it! When I built my own, I quickly realized the in-game transformation makes no physical sense without any disassembly, since the wings appear from nowhere, and the thighs and feet split apart to go beside the tail wing and under the main wings respectively. I managed to get the thighs to where they needed to go, but manually detached the feet to put them under the wings, and had the wings remain in both modes. I suspect Lego will make it work in a similar way to the DreamZzz sets, where the body remains the same for both builds, but you have to reassemble the rest to convert from one to the other. Same, I think expecting otherwise isn't realistic. In all honesty, I'm not sure why everyone here thinks he shouldn't be a minifig. Sonic also has very thin limbs, and yet everyone is happy with him as a minifig. Metal Sonic also has humanoid limbs, so I don't see why normal minifig legs and arms wouldn't work like they do on any other robotic character. His proportions are much too similar to Sonic's in order to justify a wildly different approach. -

Definitely true on the point of him needing to fit on Thor's couch. However, that makes me think that if they make a set of the fantasticar, they could make Thing a mnifig so he can fit inside. Honestly, I just don't want to get too excited and then disappointed. -

I would prefer a big-fig, but I'm expecting Thing to get the Korg treatment. From what I've seen, he doesn't seem to be hulk sized. If Lego thinks Korg and GOTG 3 adult groot are still minifig sized, then I'm pretty sure they'll find making the Thing a minifig perfectly fine. Hopefully they give him some shoulder armor or something to bulk him up a bit more, but I can't say I'm expecting much. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Super happy to see it confirmed we're getting more comic based sets. MCU stuff can look cool, but I really like the more saturated and clean look of most comic designs. Plus, I find the builds more creative, even if they're silly. Speaking of, the news of Hulk's monster truck makes it seem very likely that the Red Hulk in 76310 will be a minifig and not a bigfig. I was hoping it would provide an alternative to the overpriced cap 4 set. As for RDJ as Doctor Doom, as long as he isn't just 'evil iron man', it could work I guess. Everything they announced about those avengers films feels very desperate though, which doesn't give me a while lot of confidence. I'm just happy we're getting a new Dr. Doom minifig soon, alongside the fantastic 4 and hopefully a good Galactus too! These days, the minifig potential excites me more than the films themselves, lol.
