  1. Thank you very much for the comments! It was a fun build and I am looking forward to keeping this as a permanent part of my yearly display.
  2. Nice log cabin Jameson. It looks like a nice place to warm up from the cold. Speaking of which, the Ranger's shorts look a little chilly for the occasion.
  3. The large brown backpack would have been from the original explorer series and the other backpacks are from the Artic series. Both released about a decade ago. I am not 100% on the orgin of the large ski but possibly the Space Ice planet series? Thank you for you comment.
  4. B-OV-15D I am excited to share my entry for the expand the Winter Village competition. It is a Winter Sports Store. The store is a 2 story shop with all of equipment one needs for winter fun! On the main floor you can find an assortment of snowboards, ski poles, ice skates, hockey helmet/mask, warm winter coats, hockey sticks, and snow shoes. Outside you can find a variety of skiis in different sizes and some old fashioned wooden sleds. In the top floor you will find an office with desk and chair and a heated fireplace complete with stockings. One of the many services offered by the store is free ice skate sharpening for skates purchased from the store. Like the Lego sets so far I have included a light brick but with a twist. Activating the light brick eluminates the lower floor and lights up the fire place. I had a challange illustrating this with the pictures. Also different, is you can turn on the light from the front of the shop. Simply turn the big brown wheel a notch and it turns and stays on. The accessories included are an old bridge over a creek that is meant to attach to the skating pond from last years' set. The bridge pathway was built "snot" using shades of new and old grey Also included is a dog sleigh / sled. The sled is able to be ridden from the back or front. I don't think Lego would approve of useing a whip on dogs so I choose to borrow the bone idea from this years set and use a more positive method to get the dogs going. But just in case the whip is there should the dogs get out of line. In total there are 7 figures of which 2 are children. I used the boxing gloves from series 5 to give the effect of big red mittons on the kids. Thank you for looking. I welcome your comments, questions, and feedback. Unfortunatley I could not fit all of the details into 5 pictures, so feel free to visit by Brickshelf folder: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=491187 or Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43769067@N08/?saved=1 to see more details and my entire winter village. Play well! Shane "Soundwave_sw"
  5. It looks very cozy. I like the chandeler holly/ivy string. Good luck in the contest!
  6. Very nice bus! Great use of the small white windows. The only thing missing is the series 7 hippie as the bus driver.
  7. Nice store gcanik. I also like the snow sculpture. The stocking on the side is a nice touch. Good luck in the contest!
  8. The Church is very nice. It looks like it could fit into a variety of layouts of different times and themes. It could use some more unique mini figs. I don't think I could see this as a future set in the winter series but it is still a well built moc.
  9. Very creative and nicely built house. You also could have called it an Ice house which would have been more winter appropriate. The residents of this house may want to remove those stones from the yard. They could be quite hazardous.
  10. Not true. The toy shop came with a pair of singing minifigs with song books and the Post office came with 2 musicians so the music componant has already been included.
  11. I was hoping to see a contest again this year. There were some really great entries last year. Speaking of which, perhaps we should not allow any more train stations since 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place last year were all train stations.
  12. Very nice candy shop. It looks like a natural fit in the series. Good luck in the contest!
  13. There are 2 light systems both with a 2-AAA battery box which takes up most of the space. The wires also take up some space so there is currently no room for a stretcher. There are smaller power modules avaialble (size of a 2x4 brick) which should allow more room but i don't have any in that size yet. I plan to make another similar sized model without the lights and with working doors and inside detail. Thank you for your comments
  14. Very nice build! It also reminds me of a Ferrari. I may try to duplicate some techniques from this model. Well done!
  15. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to point out the decal. I cut the decal out from the larger Spider Man ambulance set. like fhomess said, what the real decals should say is. "IF YOU CAN READ THIS THEN GET THE ---- OUT OF MY WAY!"
  16. Thank you for the feedback so far. I will consider the tips when I work on my second version. I won't be restricted by LED lights and wires the 2nd time around. I did come up with a better prototype using the curved arch for the fwd wheel well but it was not compatable with the lights. Hopefully I can still pull it off. @Lightningtiger pictures have been resized @Ralph aka mad pyhsicist, when i was looking up ideas for my ambulance i did notice your door technique on your version. I really liked it and may incorperate it into my next version.
  17. I could see a train station followed by a re-release of the Christmas/holiday train the following year. or vice versa
  18. V-LF-5F This is my model of a B.C. Ambulance. Commonly found around Vancouver, B.C. Included are lego compatable electric LED lights (lifelites) The cab is six studs wide and the back is 7 studs wide. The frame is a generic 1-ton with dual rear wheels. There are 16 LED lights in total. 8 flashing & 8 non flashing. All decals are from Lego sets. I hope to build another version with functioning doors and perhaps a smoother angled side stripe. I also have a video clip here of the flashing lights - I havnt had a chance to resize the files yet, so if there is a delay in loading please go to: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=488228 or http://www.flickr.com/photos/43769067@N08/sets/72157625254593926/with/6317022154/ to see the full set.
  19. the Post office was released at the retail stores Oct 1st. It appears these sets are only available seasonally. chances are some of them will be available next fall/winter as well
  20. For the missing sports fig, I would be surprised if we don't see a (American) football player soon. The face mask from the series 4 hockey player resembles a football player more than a hockey player's
  21. I love all the Toy Story comments. Perhaps I'll convert this to a LGM machine for Brickcon. It is ironic that the lime green prompts people to think Toy Story when Stars Wars sets were an important pioneer for lime green lego (Bounty Hunter Pursuit for example)
  22. Thank you for the comments everyone. I had a blast building for this contest. Good luck to everyone. There are some fantastic entries!
  23. thanks for the comments guys. I have now posted pictures for the planetary prowler. Once you see it, it will explain the design and color use. http://www.flickr.com/photos/43769067@N08/
  24. And finally I am proud to present Jengo Fett's Planetary Prowler. This treaded head turner is ideal for those who like to have their toys and be noticed. The Prowler acts as Jengo's mobile planetary base of operations. Manufactured by Purple Pant Industries, this vehicle has everything you need. It is powered by twin fusion reactors that also provide a recharging to the shuttle and speeder bike components. The fusion reactors are outfitted with thrusters at the rear which allow for short bursts of additional speed when needed. This feature is especaially advantageous on low gravity surfaces and can allow the Prowler to jump wide canyons. (think Amrageddon) It is armed with the two G1-84 series blasters and 2 surface to orbit plasma missiles. The tracking and scanning systems are second none. With this machine Jengo can hear a Bantha poodoo from 2 parsecs away! Although the size and color make stealh movements improbable, the Prowler has a cargo bay that can hold a steathly speeder bike to close in for the kill. There is also room to spare to bring back targets with bounties worth more alive. The cockpit is also a space shuttle with limited speed and range. This feature allows it to act as an ejection pod. Sadly the payments were too hefty for this vehicle as the interest rates offered by the Hutts were downright robbery. This forced Jengo to trade in the Prowler for the Slave and sell his DNA to the Kaminos to pay off his debt. Please take a look at the pictures for more discriptions. I also have higher res photos on my flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43769067@N08/ There is even proof that the treads are functional here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43769067@N08/5737187145/in/photostream in case you have ever wondered what to do with 180 purple pants side view rear view with cargo door closed cargo area perfect spot to stow a speeder bike The Prowler was designed to have the cockpit component become a space shuttle that can dock with the Prowler to become a single entity.
  25. Thanks for comments guys. I will take up your suggestion and re take some pictures.
