  1. Really nice MOC. Actually I build your forklift last weekend. Found it on Rebrickable. My compliments for the instructions, they are really good. Cheers, Robert
  2. When a model is complex, building from just an lxf file is not easy. I build several complex models from lxf files. My method is to cut the model into several modules and thus reducing complexity. You'll find an example here. It's D3K's swingloader. As you can see I copied the model several times in LDD and then I delete all the parts that do not belong to the specific section I want to build. Good luck!
  3. Hi, Modified the 8051 B-model to create an extra fat Harley style motorcycle. I uploaded the pictures in my brickshelf folder, here's a preview: http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5651776 Cheerio, Robert
  4. This is exactly the reason that I use basebrick (www.basebrick.com). I entered all my sets and all the loose part I bought on Bricklink and e-bay. After that Basebrick can compare the parts list for any model with my own parts list. Well, look for yourself. Cheers, Robert
  5. Well, my folder is not public yet. So, some deeplinks to my pictures: Robert
  6. My brickshelf folder contains a lot of pictures. However, I just created it before starting this topic. It should be public soon.
  7. Thank you for posting the picture. It didn't work when i tried. Robert
  8. Since I like to build and my four year old son likes cranes I decided to build a tower crane. Building the tower was easy and took some evenings to complete to my satisfaction. After that it got harder. It took me a while to build a rotating system that I liked. This was good practice to learn studless building. I build the crane's arm upside down to create a nice flat surface to move the hoisting system back and forth. An XL motor is used to rotate the boom, using a clutch gear for smooth starting and stopping. 2 m motors are used for lifting and moving the hook back and forth. I'm quite satisfied with the result. The crane is 97cm high and the arm extends about 65cm from the tower. Lifting big loads is a bit too much, because the whole system balances on one turntable. Smaller loads are no problem. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Robert1969/Towercrane/10-01-2010_020.jpg See my brickshelf folder for photo's and movies. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=473607 Greetz, Robert
  9. Hi, Let me introduce myself first. I'm Robert from Holland and I played a lot with lego technic since I was 7 years old back in the seventies. And now my children play with lego and I rediscovered technic, so this winter I couldn't resist anymore and I bought the 8049 set (it was on sale :-)). And now I am an AFOL and I'm wrestling studless technic:-). I started building all kind of stuff I found online and surfed a lot on eurobricks and also lowlug. And I discovered bricklink and e-bay. Last week I got inspired by Grohl's blue tongue and I tried to build a copy, modifying it while building, and I decided to create a brickshelf gallery. Here's the link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=466470 I don't have a lot of blue beams, so my moc is yellow. I also made some technical changes. I replaced the 2 m-motors with one xl-motor and a differential. Since I don't have a small "return to center" spring I slowed the steering a bit to make it more "controlable". And I moved the rear wheels one stud (longer wheel base) to compensate for my heavy battery box. Thanks to Grohl for inspiration. Cheers, Robert
