  1. Its a Jousting Plaza entrance. Someone posted correctly that if you had 2 or more you can link them to make it look like a stadium. Plaza entrances had no gates, its just an arch. The Knights tents should in reality be placed outside the walls, inside was only the pubilc and the jousting arena. Also the walls could be better as normally you would have a lot of back sides of houses on them (there is the blue one, but its really small) Some pics to clear things out:
  2. I don't see the photos :) Flickr says they are private.
  3. To many of the sets were a disaster. Maybe the castle was ok compared to the Dragon Knights' Fire Breathing Fortress but it stil lwas bad compared to Black Knights Castle. The Witch's Magic Manor was a joke, just like Witch's Windship. You also have a strange line of small flying machines.
  4. To bad the Fright Knights series was a failure. The figures and parts from Fright Knights are the cheapest at BL.
  5. I really like the "non-square" castle.
  6. My 5 year old son has some Ninjago and Bionicle and currently the Bionicle robot lies dead in a box and the Ninjago parts we implemented in a Castle set that he likes to play the most.
  7. Hello could someone direct me to a region inhabitet by a builder so i could make my MOC's in character and in place :) I saw the big map on the first page with some regions placed on it. How can i find a place for me new character?
  8. Yes i confirm it's a challenge to get familliar with the rules, etc. Altough you have pinned the important threads new people like me still tend to miss out on some basic stuff. Like what to do after i join? Just freebuild or do some tasks? That sort of stuff.
  9. Generally i don't like the raised baseplates. I know it takes a lot of burps and bricks but you can do a better job yourself.
  10. Thanks guys, i will try to make a photo of my character soon and post it :) Oh one more question, what if i get a cool new torso or a cape for my char, can i then update his looks?
  11. Thank you for your answer, i just saw in the topic the figures are using green themed torsos and thought that my blue ones will look bad on Avalonia MOC's.
  12. Hello i would like to join Avalonia but i dont have the figures displayed in the Avalonia thread. Will it be a big problem? I currently have figs with blue lions and blue crown symbols.
  13. It also comes to my mind that LEGO fails to understand what the Castle theme has become over years and who is the potential buyer of the sets. If you look at Caslte MOC's you will notice what is the desired brick arsenal. Making huge castles made of big parts that are not used in MOC's is just a fail. If they didn't have any idea for a new line making a couple of medium and small sets containing some unique usefull pieces would be totally a seller. So maybe instead of asking for big projects the castle fans would be satisfied with less but more usefull sets.
  14. Medieval and fantasy castle theme has so many different possibiliteis for new sets thats it's silly that LEGO can't come up with anything for the fans of those series. City can get another "truck" for the - i can't count how many there was - and yet they still produce new. So it seems that the sales for castle dropped and they try to move out of the theme. Which is sad.
  15. Darn it. Well i would vote Fantasy Era too. D&D has just rights to a certain gameplay setting. On the 2nd place i would like to see new Wolfpack sets.
  16. Dungeons & Dragons They already have all the figures needed to play a RPG team of adventurers exploring hostile places looking for treasures and fame. You would have them all orc barbarians, goblin minions, wizards, halfling rogues, dwarven fighters, human paladins, elven rangers. A great chance for fun with making sets to tell about your team's adventures.
  17. As a castle builder i'm not appealed to any of the new sets. We have there 6 sets that are vehicle based, so forr me this is a clear sign thats its space and sci-fi aligned as castle was always a structure campaign. Furthermore, half of the minifigs dot even have arms and the robots are brick-built not figs. Only thing linking this to castle are couple of helmets, some weaponry and thats it. Just take those away, put a laser gun in figs hand and you have a new ninjago. And LEGO doesnt even decline that. This is a Ninjago follower. Its a set for boys to collect and play just as ninjago was, it has the same factors. Differnet sets are designed to have different powers, so they have a collectability factor. The big point for making this theme was: As said before as a castle builder i have nothing to look in those sets besides couple of unique parts i will probably get eventually at BL. Most of the "vehicles" are built using LEGO Technic parts with addition of Space parts. everything is kept in a totaly non-castle themed colors (to much blue, to much orange)
  18. I just wonder if LEGO has deals with so many different brands, why cant they make a good one for the next castle set. Someone argued before that Lego Castle lacks good themes to follow and i disagree. Just as an example. Lego Dungeons and Dragons "Forgotten Realms" or Lego Heroes of Might and Magic. There are so many more great fantasy-medieval themes out there and they camu up with mechanical knights :/
  19. should walls have windows?
