I never buy a set to get a minifig and then toss out the rest of the set (or sell or whatever). However, I will buy a set specifcally because it has figures (well torsos) I want/like and then put all the rest of the parts in my collection. I know everything is useful eventually anyway and would rather not pay 50% or more the cost of the set just for the minifig on Bricklink.

Really neat idea Flipz. It took me a while to read but definately worth it and I hope a lot of folks take the advice and especially new people that maybe have never done any kind of roleplay online or in paper/pencil games.

Heroica RPG - Quest #27: Badger Badger Badger

"Thank you so much sir!", Sanjay exclaims through gritted teeth and a forced smile as Eric tosses him the gold. "Safe journey." As Eric leaves, Sanjay mutters something in a strange dialect under his breath. He puts away the gold and looks up at Tesni as she approaches. "Ah yes, you have the receipt I trust?" Tesni hands him the receipt for Box 3. He scans it quickly. "Excellent. One moment." He ducks behind the counter, taking the receipt with him. Tesni can hear a lock clicking an a large chest behind opened. Sanjay then stands up and places three boxes on the counter, each is locked. He hands her one, but keeps his hands on the other two. "These two just arrived yesterday. They came with a note stating that the person claiming that box would also have the recipts for these two if they wish to claim them, something about a great contest starting soon and the shopkeepers couldn't wait for the party to arrive and sent them here." He shrugs. "All I know is they require separate receipts and came with my holding fee, so are these yours as well?" Tesni slips the tube out of her pack and pulls out the next two receipts. Surprisingly they match the information on the boxes and Sanjay hands them over. Maurice takes all three boxes from Tesni and toss them in the "special" bag, rolling his eyes as he remembered the silly pride of the shopkeeper that showed them the bag. "Is there anything else I can do for you? A rare gem perhaps? I have only three left." Friends head on standard minifig torso
Darkdragon replied to GLHTurbo's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I don't think this will work out well. the heads are very small and it will lose too much to drill it out. A better way would be cut the neck stud off a minifig torso and attach a bar in its place. that will give you the mounting point you need. -
Great review. I love all the extra parts in this set and the zombie eye Frodo head. I think this is a great value in this theme and giant spiders are fun to play with.

As the afternoon sun starts to go down, the ship's first mate can be seen talking to crew and passengers all over the ship. Everyone he talks to stops whatever they were doing and packs up, heading off the deck. The party does notice that he never actually approaches the man with the eyepatch playing poker with the grey man, he only waves at the man in the eyepatch who nods. He then approaches the party. "Hi folks. We are due to arrive at port within the hour. At this point the captain has asked that all passengers wait in their cabins. You'll know when we arrive as the ship will stop moving." He chuckles at his own joke and heads away to talk to the next group of people wandering the ship. The party heads back to the cabin to await the time when they can finally leave the ship. After some time, they feel the ship coming to a stop and the first mate knocks on the cabin door. "We have arrived at Port of Miranda. This is the end of the voyage for you folks. Your cargo if you have any will be unloaded for you and waiting on the dock." With that he leaves, the door wide open. The heroes head off the ship, most of them happy to be on solid ground again. Once they enter the port, they see an inn and tavern, some small homes, and three small shops. The deck hand told them that there would be three shops called Greebie's Good Weaponry, Sanjays Spells and Stuff, and Freeda's "Fresh" Fish. Since there are three shops here, this must be the right place. What will the heroes do now? Ah yeah that is silly. I do like the printed mosaic and logo tiles though.

Thanks. I think regular legs are ok since it's all children, there are no short yellow legs yet unfortunately.

I'm working on a large project which calls for figures to represent the boys from the book Lord of the Flies (wiki). This is what I have so far for the four main characters. Please let me know what you think and if you have other near-purist ideas for the characters that might look better. For the two leaders Jack and Ralph, I've put them with their defining items. Ralph has the Conch shell and Jack has his knife and spear. Why near-purist? I had to modify the head for Piggy.

Also, forgot to mention this last time - you could have just quoted the photo and not the whole post I thought about it, but I think a break will work.

Heroica RPG - Quest #27: Badger Badger Badger

The party heads out of the cabin, toward the fishing dock. On the way there they see the two men from the night before but they are having a nice fried fish breakfast. Nearly passed out behind a barrel is a man Eric recognizes from the galley. At the fishing dock is very crowded this morning. Many folks fishing and others presumably heading back to the galley to get their catch cooked up for morning meal. Looks like the waters are still today and there is a plethora of seafood being brought in by the fishers. The captain is at the wheel as expected, but the first mate isn't there by his side. They finally see the first mate come out of the door to the galley. He's carrying what appears to be a fish sandwich in one hand and the ever-present bottle of rum in the other. He waves down the party and heads over to speak to them. "Hi folks. Lovely day, isn't it? We are making great time and should be able to pull into Mystara by mid afternoon! Feel free to wander around and talk to folks, or if you like just wait in your cabin or in the galley until we dock." He heads on up to the deck and hands the sandwich to the captain. Where will the party go?
