Heroica RPG - Quest #27: Badger Badger Badger
Darkdragon replied to Darkdragon's topic in The Heroica Archive
The party exits the bank into the dark night. The street is pretty empty, but looks like the shops are still open. It doesn't seem like anyone knew what happened inside the bank, and they don't see any of the customers that were there. Where will the party go? -

The group heads over to check out the gold box. Namyrra opens the box and to her disapointment it is not holding the missing Mythril. There are some other items inside it though, and she pulls them and places them on the counter. Two Gold Bars (worth 50 gold each) Black Key (good for unlocking things) Note She opens the note and reads it to the group. Hahahaha. Heroica Heroes, not too bright! You should have just taken the Mythril, where will you find something like that again? It was a good deal! So here you sit alone in the bank. I've left you a consolation though, we really did appreciate your help with the guards. If not for you we would probably not even be alive. Enjoy the gold bars and the key will unlock the front doors. Hope we never meet again! -- You Know Who What will the heroes do now? -
Heroica RPG - Quest #27: Badger Badger Badger

The bank manager's face changes again and he whips his wand out as he ducks Namyrra's spell and grabs hold of Toby's arm. "Wrong decision ladies!" He yells, starts laughing maniacally and then waving the wand in circular patterns he chants. "Effugere non possis mutare pecunia capiat nobis." Both men turn into the tiniest of flying insects and fly out of the bank under the door. The Mythril that Tesni was holding disappears, though the gold box it came in is still sitting on the counter where the manager had set it. The heroes are left standing at the locked bank door, alone. What will the heroes do now? -

Tesni and Namyrra's thinly vieled threats seem to amuse the bank manager. He looks over at Toby and rolls his eye then back at the party. "Look ladies, we really are not afraid of you. I don't think you want to cause trouble and threaten us. What do you think you see here, a couple scrawny bank employees?" He laughs. "And I see a couple pretty ladies. What does that mean? Nothing, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Honestly, I have a lot to do here before we leave and I would rather not have to kill you fine folks. It's really not my style." "Boss, they are Heroica..." Toby says to his boss under his breath. "Quiet now Toby, you've done enough damage. Well, heroes, what will it be then?" -

The bank manager glares at Toby and then looks back at the party. His previously kind expression has been replaced with one of anger bubbling under the surface. His skin seems to darken slightly and, perhaps it is the lighting near the door, but he seems older. He puts his hand under his vest and looks at the party sternly. "Do we have a problem here or do we have an agreement?" -

"On the contrary, I don't think we owe you any kind of explantion. We weren't throwing it away, we were hoping you would take it without causing any undue issues." "Toby, what's going on over there?" The bank manager calls from near the vault. He starts heading over without waiting for a response. "Why are they still here?" -

Toby's smile disapears as Eric speaks. "Excuse me? Mythril is very rare, this piece has been kept in the vault for five years. There will be no more, we did not need to give you anything, we could have just ki..said thank you and called it good. You are heroes right, from Heroica Hall? We know those guards had gold on them, yesterday was pay-day after all. If we can't trust you then we have a problem here." -

Toby stands there waiting, the door still locked. His smile starts to fade slightly. "What'll it be folks? Can we count on you?" -
Yeah it was pretty lucky, his parts were spread through 3 bags.

YEP they were. Just hoped for some good minifigs and some nice white bricks (since most of my white bricks are not nice). Here's what I ended up with (I've so far only sorted out minifig parts). 3 Complete figs (Darth Vader, Davey Jones, and random parts fig, plust a bunch of extras) [darth vader torso not pictures, found it after this photo] Here's the rest. This is 6 bags worth, they were not very full (looks like 1 large PAB per bag) but great parts.

As Toby shows them out, he is in a good mood. Nothing like when they walked into the bank. He talks to Tesni as they head to the door. It's amazing how fast he can talk and hardly taking a breath, let alone time to think about what he is saying. "Really is great you all showed up. I thought we were goners for sure, those Pongcanis don't even use weapons but they can kill in an instant. Do you know they eat PEOPLE?! Savages. I don't understand why the company would hire them to guard anything because they could of killed us, they don't know friend from enemy in a fight. I wasn't even sure we would be able to get past them, and that key was well the key, figured he had it, guess we were right. He starts to unlock the doors, then looks at Tesni and the party very seriously. "Anyway, I'm glad you like the gift, I trust you won't tell anyone what happened here. I mean, all the customers will be silent and I trust in your discretion. It's an expensive gift, if you know what I am saying." -

It's been a long time coming, but I got my first grab bags today! Just got home and starting to sort them.

Heroica RPG - Quest #27: Badger Badger Badger
Darkdragon replied to Darkdragon's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Oh my, thank you so much! I don't know how he got this, but he still needed me to open the vault. I'm the bank manager and It's not just a mechanical lock, you see. If you wouldn't mind waiting a moment, I have a little something for your trouble." The man walks over to the vault door and puts the key in a slot the party hadn't seen before. Suddenly the whole door starts glowing and pulsating as if it was alive and about to attack. The man takes out a wand and waves it in a pattern that matches some of the symbols on the door. He mumbles some strange words and the glow lowers dimmer and dimmer until it finally stops glowing all together. There is a loud click and the door swings open slightly. He stows the wand again and opens the door, then nods at the other man who walks inside. He emerges quickly holding a golden box which he hands to the manager. "Here you are then, a token of our appreciation." He opens the box and hands Tesni flawless Mythril. "I hope you can find it useful, and thank you for helping us, Heroes. You are free to leave anytime, Toby here will let you out." Mythril - A very rare metal that can be smithed into weapons, adding 10 WP. What will the party do now? -

Tesni turns around and the bank is totally empty. All of the bodies are gone and so are the customers. It's eerily quiet. After shutting and locking the front doors, the man in the red vest runs over to stand next to the man in black vest who speaks to the party. "Yes, of course. It's great that you showed up in time to stop them. They almost got into the vault, we couldn't have that, no we could not. Did I overhear someone say they found a key on of them? It might be the vault key, would it be too much to ask you for the key?" -
Well yeah you are right about I should have posted them, but like i said before I don't like posting PMs, but I guess you don't mind. You posted them though, so there it is done and my moral code over posting PMs is still intact. So there you go everyone, the complete PM thread. Anyway, like I mentioned in my PMs I was on my phone - at the time I couldn't post here and after I got back to my computer I posted. We have to take everything seriously, or at least with enough caution to bring it out and share the information with everyone. So, that's what I did as soon as I got the chance.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. I didn't make up the fact that he said he is scum. Not sure how this is putting my reputation on the line, I'm trying to bring a little bit of actual facts to this day filled with nothing but looking for clues under every pixel and coming up with nothing but conjecture. If by innocent, you mean town then there's nothing I can do about it if he says he is scum and he isn't - well maybe he shouldn't say things like that because I can't think of a more damning piece of evidence. I feel like I've given him plenty of time to tell us what's going on, he's gone totally silent since I mentioned what he said. He hasn't said a word here or by PM, so what else can I do but assume he was telling the truth about being scum and then trying to cover it by saying it was a joke? Vote: Ensign Brian Pewter (Palathadric)
-
Ok, I can paraphrase and give you some actual small quotes, that might help. We were talking about red shirts and red flowers. And I said that if I had a red shirt I couldn't give it to him because he might be scum. He said. "I am scum." (and some other stuff about red shirts and there were smilies involved) I asked if he was joking. He said. "I never joke about such matters. " A few messages later he said he was joking the whole time. Now I need to go ice this black eye I just gave myself.
-
I can, except for my serious moral objections to quoting actual PMs in the day threads without permission. I mean, when people do it to me it makes me really upset. It would be so hypocritical of me to get as upset as I do over it and then do it to someone else right here in the day thread. I'd have to punch myself in the face for being a jerk.

I'm not sure about Mandel yet. The things he's said and done today are really making me say "huh?" and wondering why he is so easily swayed by anyone/everyone. I'm sorry Mandel but you can't just agree with everyone, otherwise it looks like you just want to keep everyone happy and really not make any decision of your own. On the other hand, you are defending yourself pretty well and trying to stay calm, and I do appreciate that - after all, I was on the receiving end of that kind of word-twisting abuse in the simulator and I know it does not feel good at all. Something a little more troubling for me though is Ensign Brian Pewter who messaged me (and others I believe) a few hours before this day started. All told it wasn't that bad, there have been others who have messaged people and we've already discussed that. However, the thing that confused and frightened me was that a little while ago he said that he is scum. He could have been joking, like he said, but I've been thinking hard about it and I don't understand why someone would joke about that. I'm not ready to vote for anyone yet, but I wanted to at least bring up these two things that have been troubling me the past couple hours.

'fraid not. Was a quick break.
