I've built mine (as per instructions to start with) and feel it does not really work when placed next to the other modulars. The architectural details seem like they should be on an imposing building, but the scale seems wrong for the build style & it just looks unimpressive - particularly the side with the Laundrette on it. I do like the Brick Bank, but of the 5 modulars currently available, this is the first one I feel must be modded, rather than seeing it as optional. Now just have to wait to get a second set. I got some Star wars guy with my order too, but as I'm always hoping for more minifigures with hair rather than hats I was happy enough.

At last Lego have shipped my Brick Bank :-) I wish I lived closer to a Lego store. I'm planning on splitting off the laundromat too so it's nice to see how good it looks. So far only have one Brick Bank, if finances permit I'll get another one later on, but I want an entrance for an armoured car where the laundromat currently is, so I'm hoping it will work without a second set if I 'borrow' some of the sand green windows from the skylght to use on the floor above where the laundromat currently is for now.

I got an order confirmation email about half an hour after placing my order, but apart from that I usually only get an email when my order has been shipped which I am not expecting to be today. Sometimes I don't get any emails at all, guess it depends what mood the Lego store is in. I've always found if it's in my order history, it all works out just fine.

Problem seems to be fixed now, I just ordered my Brick Bank from the uk website for the expected price & was able to use my VIP points as well - had to log out then back in again first though.
-
All the prices are odd e.g. Winter Toy Shop goes from £59.99 to £57.10, so the price change isn't consistent.

I'm having problems too, £119.99 turns into £133.37. Sent customer service an email about it but who knows when it will be fixed.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
uksuzanne replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My son loves the Zombie businessman because he is holding a newspaper that says brains & wearing a suit, a bit like the zombies in the game Plants vs Zombies (who say Braaains a lot) He gets used as such in his PvZ builds with the Pvz Knex minifigs, because unlike them his joints don't break after a few weeks of play. There is no Cheerleader in the game, so he has no interest in it. Doubt that is anyone elses reason for liking the minifig, but that's mine. It has a lot of play value. -
REVIEW: 71011 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15
uksuzanne replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you for the review - the janitor, farmer (for the pig), animal control woman (for the skunk), jewel thief (to go with the brick bank), clumsy guy & shark suit guy are now definitely on my want list. Clumsy guy is my favourite. -

I recently bought both of those as starter trains for my 5 year old son (bought the train station as well) We had nothing train related at all before getting them. I then felt I needed to go out & buy a second of the High Speed Passenger train as it looked weird to me with just one carriage. The train looks much better with 2 carriages. As that particular train is less than £70 in most shops (it's £99 at the Lego Store)at the moment, it gave me extra track, another level crossing for my layout, extra stickers for the bits I didn't build plus a spare remote & motor so I can use that if I find another train I want that doesn't have one included. I also bought a box of 60 AAA Kodak batteries as it requires 9 of them (6 in battery box, 3 in remote) & I saw quite a few reviews saying some brands of batteries have trouble. We only use one remote to run both trains. In my house trains spend most of their time being chased by a 'giant' so I can offer no opinion on how realistic they may or may not look. If I had only been purchasing one, I probably would have picked the Passenger Train because I like the look of it better, but actually the Cargo train is a more enjoyable set for both of us. I didn't feel I had to get extra carriages for it straight away either. It has switch tracks included & the cargo station which make all the difference as just watching a train go round an oval is pretty boring even when you are only five. I also bought extra track (1 of each 7895 & 7499). Whichever way you go, I think extra track is a good idea because the amount that comes with these trains is not all that much & certainly not enough for an interesting layout. We'll be getting more track soon. I watched the Jangbricks reviews on You Tube for each train before buying them which I found very helpful. I'm sure there are other reviews which are equally valid & helpful, but those are the ones I watch. I'm in the uk & was able to get both trains for a good price as they are available all over the place not just from Lego.

If you look at the City Square 60097 set, it has a Coffee Chain stand(same cup logo as in the Lego movie, although the staff member has a different apron design to Larry the barista but in same colours), a City branded service centre/car showroom & an Auto Service 24-7 tow truck which has the same logo as the 60081 Pickup Tow Truck. Plus of course a Lego shop. The Pizza delivery man included in the set has a City Pizza logo printed on his back. Do any of those count?

I know in the uk that it is always Yodel who deliver my order, so I just go to the Yodel site & put the tracking no in there, where it works 99% of the time once the item is in the country. The Lego tracker works for me about 1% of the time.

I found the 2 new seasonal sets by going to What's New & sorting price low to high. They were at the bottom of the first page. Now just have to wait to see when they get shipped.

Thank you Therize, my eyesight is not the best so unless I can make pics really big I can get a bit lost on the details.

PastVPresent, I love your raised layout so much I'm planning on building mine sort of 'inspired by', although not the same of course. (Hope you don't mind) Just waiting for my new trains to arrive this afternoon. May I ask how many bricks high your underground layer is? I've been trying to start working out how many bricks I'm going to need to start building it, but haven't succeeded at counting from the pics to help me get a rough idea.
