  1. I can't wait for Unikitty. All those Rainbow puzzles to finaly solve and just what is behind that big door in TLM world...
  2. If you mean in the adventure world, you only travel between 1885,1985 and 2015. No I didn't. It was Bart and Krusty that turned up early for some reason. Hopefully when I get home tonight The Doctor and Unikitty will be waiting...
  3. Well UK Doctor Who isn't released until the 6th and I've just had a package delivered message from my online retailer, so hopefully, I'll be playing it tonight! Maybe the stricter release dates are for video games are due to servers needing to be prepared for mass activity?
  4. Can't say I agree at all. Gwen and Co appear in Doctor Who and are mentioned as being away on a mission in another episode to explain why they are not there to help out. If you are a Doctor Who viewer that has never seen Torchwood, you would know Jack had a team and even saw them in the show. He also explains to the Doctor that his new version of Torchwood is diffetent to the Hartman one. No surprise to see it referenced, given the loving attention that TT have given to the Doctor Who content in general.
  5. Torchwood was the story arc for DW series 2 and was first mentioned in series 1. The cast of Torchwood made cameo appearances in Doctor Who. It is a big part of the shows history.
  6. Well firstly, anyone who has mentioned future Doctor Who content and not suggested 'Bessie' as a build isn't a Doctor Who fan. At the moment, we have a set number of figures that are yet to be released and there are corresponding tasks that their abilities can do in the game. People are suggesting new figures and themes, but what value will these bring to the game? Do we think that future figures will have new abilities and when they release them, the game will update with new tasks in all 14 world's? What is going to make me want to buy a fun pack if there is nothing substantial I have left to do with it in the game?
  7. I used Wicked Witch from Oz...
  8. Yeah, it was for combination of 'flight' and 'sonar smash' to get the 3rd floor 'smash-able' blue glass on the end of Wayne Manor in DC World. There's a Unikitty Rainbow block underneath it which I had assumed would need to be removed before it can be reached, but after realising that Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet (Build 2) can be used to smash gold bricks that are only reachable with flight, I thought that there might be a vehicle that can be upgraded to flight/sonar to help me get it. I'm going to have to play with them myself and see if there is a way(any excuse to spend a few hours playing with LEGO Dimensions ) or wait 'til November!!
  9. Slimer trumps the other 'hatch ability' (Bart,Gimli,Gollum) characters because he has the 'underwater, pass ghosts' ability that no other character has. Cyberman trumps Doc Brown because it has the 'underwater, silver LEGO destroy' ability that no other character has. So you can get rid of the options in italics from the list!. While I'm here...does anybody know if there is a Wave 1 vehicle/gadget that can be upgraded with 'Flight' and 'Sonar Smash'?
  10. I noticed this a while ago and #askLEGODimensions on twitter, but they wont reveal how this will work in the game. A few Dutch news websites are bemoaning the limited availability of LD in their country as it will be restricted to just one chain of stores. This is because 'limited production availability' is restricting full launch in Europe to just UK,Germany and France (and Denmark I think!) so I'm very glad I've got all the packs I wanted from wave 1 on pre-order now! They seem to think that a full launch will take place in the rest of Europe in spring 2016. Is this standard TLG behavior? Do they normally restrict initial availability on new sets to the, presumably, more affluent territories and countries?
  11. Thanks for the answers, much appreciated. Its difficult to put an individual value on the expansion packs because of the change in value after an initial purchase, which has the massive added value of unlocking the Brand Adventure World. Leaving out the cost of the Starter Pack and looking at each brand as an individual game,if I assume the Ninjago releases so far announced will be a standard for all brands; 5 Fun Packs x £15 250 pieces 1 Team Pack x £25 100 pieces 1 Level Pack (TBA) x £30 100 pieces That would be £130 for 450 bricks and 8 minifigures. So I'd estimate £45-£60 for the LEGO and toy tag tech content if purchasing as a standard LEGO set. I can cope with top end valuation of £60 for the LEGO content as being comparable with other LEGO products. That values the video game content of; a Branded Adventure World extra ("minature") story levels 3-1 vehicles/gadgets in game ability differing abilities of characters at £70. I have a pretty good yardstick for value of an Open World Tt LEGO game in LEGO City Undercover, and that cost me £50*. So should I expect 50% extra of the scope of LCU for each brand?. That would be a big ask, all those gold bricks, super builds (or LD equivalent?) , pigs to rescue and so on, so I think it's unlikely that these 'hubs' will be that expansive. So there seems to be at least £20 worth of value that we can't account for in the LEGO Dimensions Expansion Packs. Of course, it's still 6 weeks until launch and LEGO & Tt could yet announce more features and content. All in all, I don't think LD is too far away from providing real value for money in spite of the mystery £20. Thats looking at physical and virtual content compared to thier nearest available equivalents. Even if there is no more to the game than already seen, or that we can guess from how Tt games usually work, I am fairly comfortable with the price I'm paying for a quality collectable toy and well developed, highly playable, expandable, astonishingly beautiful looking and fun video game. (*As a Wii U owner I automatically lose out because our games usually cost £10 less then Xbox and PS equivalents, but we pay the same for LD,so to be fair I'd value LCU at £50 not £40.)
  12. Hi. I'll be honest, I have only joined this forum because of my interest in Dimensions. I haven't touched LEGO since I was a kid but one of the things I'm really looking forward to is doing the builds. Virtualy every article or discussion I read mentions the hefty price tag and I am interested in how real LEGO fans view the cost. To me, LD is the first genuine 'toys to life' game. LEGO is not a contrived lump of resin that is being used to inflate the cost of a video game, it is a genuine tactile toy with an established value. I've already preordered about six of the wave one packs and it's a large amount of cash. So I've been looking at normal LEGO sets for comparison. But how much would a LEGO collector expect to be paying for the LEGO in a £15 LD Fun Pack? They have about 50 pieces and a Minifigure and I've looked at the Star Wars Microfighters sets and these are about £9 for 100 pieces and a MF. The Scooby-Doo sets roughly work out at about £10 for 100 and a MF. So I'd value the LEGO in a Fun Pack at about £7, would that be a price you would pay for MF Batman and Mini Batmobile? Do movie licenses normally increase the cost of LEGO or is a themed pack priced the same as a LEGO own theme? Is the number of pieces info on LEGO pack inclusive of MF's? Do the type of bricks influence price? Do sets with more intricate pieces normally cost more? Does the 3-1 'buildability' of the vehicles and gadgets increase how much you are prepared to pay? I mean, if you knew that a SW Microfighter came with instructions for three different configurations, would you expect to pay extra? I'm about to pay about £250 for some plastic toys and a video game and have already decided that I would be prepared to pay about £9 for the physical content in a Fun Pack (i.e. LEGO, MF's and gizmo bases) if this was a top end LEGO range that I was going to collect on its own. I'll factor in £1 for packaging and stuff which means Tt have got £5 worth of video game to deliver... So anyway, I was getting bored of video games and can't remember the last time I really enjoyed one. But the idea of little LEGO builds has got me really excited about this game. The Minifigures look fantastic and Tt always deliver a fun experience, but it's clicking bricks again that I'm really looking forward to..
