  1. 48 vehicles and gadgets that each cost 10 gold bricks to upgrade, and there are 480 gold bricks available. Just enough!
  2. They could spruce up the 'ghost catching' mechanic a bit. It looks brilliant and is a lot of fun for a while, but it lacks challenge. I'd like a bit more of a wrestle, if you know what I mean.
  3. Yay!...Go Britland!! I was quite surprised to see LD in the top 30, TBH. I accidently got Infinity for Christmas from a well meaning relative and it's OK as a game, but the toy element is pointless and annoying. Not a patch on the LEGO builds and the toy pad. 'Best not biggest'?
  4. I was being slightly 'tongue in cheek'... Sales figures are beginning to come in. In the UK, LD was the 25th best selling physical game of 2015. DI 3.0 (with Star Wars!!) was 33rd, DI 2.0 was 41st and Skylander was 50th. World Wide LD sales amount to about $150million. It is in sight of Amiibo's but is still about $300-400 million behind DI and Skylander. Market analysts predict steady growth for DI and LD for the next quarter, but Skylander is flatlining and predicted to fall. All in all, a decent entry into the T2L market with a good customer base to build on. Activision seem to be taking the biggest hit from LD's presence.
  5. It's a safe bet that the Flintstones and Jetsons secret levels were made accessible with the TARDIS for the very reason that two beloved pieces of American TV culture would help sell the level in the US. I can imagine that quite a few stateside Toys 'R' Us customers could be baffled by the 'old limey fruit in a flying shed' level and giving it a pass.
  6. Difficult to answer without knowing what you want out of the game. Out of those 3, Scooby has the best adventure world, it’s cartoony look is delightful. Portals world is very good, but feels a bit more serious. Jurassic is my least favourite of all the Aw’s, mainly because of the lack of Dino’s!. Portal offers the extra level, and it’s one of the best! It offers game play variety that makes it distinctly different to the other levels and Chells gun is brilliant! Of the characters, Chell is totally unique and I doubt that any further releases will give access to her gun. I think Owen is the only character that can cut vines and the Gyrosphere has a totally unique switch ability. Scooby has underwater tracking which is unique. But Shaggy and Scooby are two of the most fun characters in the game! Of the builds, bits keep dropping off the raptor and the gyro has a better in game presence than its build. Portals turret is a great build and the cube has a unique switch ability, used with Chells gun. Scooby snack is basic but Mystery Machine is great and build 3 has hazard clean ability, so you won’t need Krusty if you can’t wait for Aquaman. Personally, I’d get Portal, if only for the extra value of another level and Chell nostalgia! But you will have fun running round with Scooby if you go for that.
  7. As massive Doctor Who fan, and someone that very probably would not have bought the game if it wasn't included...I couldn't agree more! Now I've got the game, I don't want to see one IP dominate, even if it is one I love!. Flying the TARDIS round Middle Earth gave me a special kind of joy that I can't describe, but I've had just as much fun with the other stuff...Scooby singing the Batman theme won't ever not make me smile! I fully expect Sept 2016 to May 2017 to see level packs for Scooby Doo, Jurassic World and the other IP's that havent had them yet. This year is a big one for DC in cinema and I just cannot see a game, that will have Superman and Batman as already playable elements, failing to capatilise on this. I would bet good money on Wave 2.1 having an extended DC level pack as it's main headline grabber. As for the rumours surrounding 'the list'...they are just rumours. For all we know the initials on that list where referring to the colour of the packaging, and nothing to do with the names of new franchises! My guess is the 5 packs listed as 'connectables' are nothing more than the spaces for the next wave of LP's and these will be mostly, if not exclusively, existing IP's. What I also expect is new game play elements. There are two spaces on the portal for keystones, for example, and these I expect to be filled. The Gold Brick total will have to be upped, and new characters will undoubtedly introduce new abilities. Add to that some head-to-head elements (racing games, for example) and maybe even a creative feature and I think LD has enough in its locker to satisfy existing owners and attract new ones without adding new IP's.
  8. I had problems with the escorts quest. Make sure that anything that looks destroyable is destroyed in the gyro's path. I used to get them to the gate, then they would just stop. I then discovered a velociraptor was getting stuck through the gate behind the wall. Kill that and the quest finishes! Are you on Wii U, by any chance?
  9. Are they for minikits? I've got 10/10 in a couple of levels and they have still got as yet unused cabinet 'switches'. I think they do something different..
  10. I' m probably about where you are. I haven't really touched LD much since before Christmas. I'm waiting for Aquaman, than I'm going back to it. I've left DW and GB world's untouched, apart from Red Bricks, so that I've got a couple of things to properly do with the other wave 4 releases. Also, don't forget Midway Arcade. There is pretty much a plug in point in every level for the Kids Arcade Cabinet gadget, and what they will do is not known... I quite like the lack of guides out there, it's like old school gaming, having to try and figure it out yourself!
  11. I'd be hopping mad if Amazon UK did this to me, but they don't offer any reductions here, so full price and we have to wait until 22nd for release. I hope GB doesn't have any crash issues or bugs, like DW had!
  12. Missy has a cameo in a DW Level Pack hidden stage and the grandfather clock is there!
  13. Yeah, they have fixed a couple of noticeable issues. I played through the DW level with the RAD brick left on with no crash! Yay. Unrelated...I'm really looking forward to the next two level packs, but they seem a mighty long way off! I'm already holding back on doing stuff in DW & Scooby Adventure World's and a couple of levels, so that I've got something to do over the Xmas hols!
  14. There is a noticeable lack of official information on how to resolve problems, but we all seem to be muddling through. I've had a few issues with crashes and dodgy toy tags and Twitter has been the only place to go for solutions. The DW crash issue is a case in point, why they didn't put the 'turn off red bricks' advice on the in game bulletin board or official LD webpage is a mystery. It's a big game on multiple platforms and has had lots of niggles, and they should really have anticipated this and provided an official 'FAQ and Advice' service. Still a great game though!!
  15. Homer-All new Simpsons level to play. Abilities are sonic smash and 'big transform' for super strength. Vehicle comes with tow ability in first build and can be transformed into a submarine if you haven't got underwater mini figs. Gadget is a TV that can be used to distract enemies and has a silver blow ability. Wicked Witch- only way to access Oz Adventure World, an absolute must have IMO! Abilities- flight, mind control, magic and silver blow up. Vehicle-Winged Monkey, but I never use it and know little about its ability!
  16. I agree. You can't really compare Wii U with PS4 and Xbox One, it is closer to PS3 and XB360 then the other two. The biggest pro in its favour is the gamepad, which allows you to keep playing without need for TV. But if you want better graphics and smoother visual then don't even consider it! As for which next gen is best, price wise they roughly match each other. PS4 has slightly better graphic capabilities, but nothing that gives it a significant edge over XB. PS4 is more of a pure games machine and XB leans towards being a multimedia centre. I guess you need to decide which one is going to offer you the most fun with game lineups and other features. I've got a Wii U but am thinking of upgrading and am leaning towards PS4.
  17. Pretty much everybody I think! Turn off Red Brick extras, especially the RADS. Seems to do the trick.
  18. Here is the Hire a Hero costing First use of a character: 50,000 studs Second use of same character: 75,000 studs Third use of same character: 125,000 studs Fourth and more uses of same character: 250,000 studs.
  19. Same amount of Dino's on Wii U and I think it's the same on the next gens. It's definitely the least well realised of the IP's. Shame really, I quite like rampaging Dinosaurs.
  20. @Cpt.Nemo. I got JW at launch and there were no dinosaurs at all! I think there was a bug in the Wii U edition. After the update for wave 2 they suddenly appeared, but I've already got 27 of 29 Gold Bricks in there so I can't really enjoy them now! I envy your world with its (admittedly mainly pointless)dinosaurs! Also, Hire a Hero is a bit limited. The cost of a hire increases each time you use the same character, so if you're thinking of, for example, not buying Aquaman and hiring him you'll need to do a lot of stud farming! In levels, you can only hire heros with coins collected in that level, so avoid hiring hero's in Adventure Worlds before you are sure you don't need them to get a minikit, or something else, in a level!
  21. Giant Robot Omega Master's Grandfather clock TARDIS A salute from Cyber-Brig Bessie!!! This level pack just keeps on giving!
  22. I totally agree, this expansion is superb. The 'puzzle' element to the Adventure World makes it feel distinctly different to the other 11 and captures what Doctor Who is all about, whizzing about in the TARDIS doing stuff! Mark Warburton, Andy Holt and the rest of the Tt developers really have delivered the best Doctor Who video game experience yet. The Story level is pleasingly timey-wimey and looks stunning. The K-9 build is brilliant and stuffing the TARDIS with bricks for the alternate builds makes it feel heavier than it looks and really robust. And you get a spare Sonic Screwdriver!
  23. There do appear to be ongoing problems with some Expansion Packs for Xbox360. The BttF LP wouldn't load for a lot of owners and recently there have been issues with Simpsons LP and Jurassic TP. So this might be part of that issue. TT/WBG say they are aware of problems and have been working on a fix since launch. Yesterday was a bit of a disaster for me. Only Unikitty turned up and half of the LEGO is missing and my DW LP didn't arrive until this morning! Gggrrrr.
  24. What console have you got? I turned on my Wii U on Tuesday and the wave 2 characters and 'Hire a Hero' were all shown as updates on the bulletin board. I can't test the HaH feature because I've got all the wave 1 packs and it doesn't give the hire option if you own a minifig that can do the task. I do hope there won't be a lengthy update when I get home or I might be going a bit 'Unikitty' myself!
  25. There were reports of game freezes and crashes in the Level Pack. @LEGODimensions advised to turn off any Red Brick extras, especially the RADS mini kit indicator. Hopefully, this is now fixed, but if you do have problems, try the above...
