  1. I helped my girlfriend finish building "70146 Flying Phoenix Fire Temple". Her 3rd Lego set.
  2. Holmes on Homes, Season 6 Episode 9.
  3. YAHP is something I usually say when I register somewhere new. In the meantime, here's "Crazy Bunny" watching the OJ chase in space... Thanks for the welcome samuraiturtle. :)
  4. Plastic bags in bins... * I recently separated my Technic from my other parts. I really thought I had more Technic parts... :( * Figures are in a bag that don't have a MOC or set to sit in. * Clear/colored bricks are in a bag. * Minifigure tools and parts in a bag. I recently bought a lot of someones Legos and there's a mix of megabloks and lego that is unsorted and in many small containers with no system at all. Oddly enough, I guess its because I'm an 'adult' Lego builder because this is the first time ive ever sorted my Legos longer than a week.
  5. I'm not as hardcore as many of you guys... (I only wish I was... :p ) My most difficult set build, was the 42009 crane. First motorized set & my first large set after my decade plus Lego hiatus, and first experience with the studless parts. My most difficult 'creations' usually involves the following... When creating elaborate models, I build it from the perspective of my Technic figure (yes, I have and use them) as if I'm going to be operating it as a Technic figure. I've always thought the engines were neat, but its disappointing where the engine runs only when the model is in motion. I'd like to have the engine constantly spinning (like the real thing), and create a functional gearbox with a reverse which is accessible where the figure sits. Sadly, Ive never actually been able to motorize any of those creations, and also I have a mix of a lot of colors and not enough to create a completely elaborate model in a single color so my models overall look... lame. My other challenge was when I created a working model of the human hand using the pneumatic system using 2 switches and 3 cylinders.
  6. Here's my Lego regrets... * Staying away from Lego for so long. I was a hardcore Lego Maniac as a kid, but put them away and didnt touch them for over a decade... Until a couple years ago. * Destroyed my 6 wheel mech transport truck. kicked it and bodyslammed it against my apartment metal door and left a dent in the door. I had a really lousy day and came this close ---------->
  7. I've had minimal luck as I just typically buy sets just for the 'parts' & figures, but lately I'm short of many kinds of parts for the assortment of stuff I had built over the last few months. Been out of Lego for a long while but haven't bought much until in the last year or so. Havent run into any hard core deals though. But heres what I managed to find in the last year or so. * Cheap Lego lots on Ebay. Cheap price per pound. Lots of flat plates but I needed flat plates. Ended up with nearly 19lb of legos for about $140 (inc shipping). * Bought someones lot of Legos for $50 who is going into bootcamp. A bit of megablocks mixed in but there's a LOT of Lego parts. * Several sets on clearance. Yea, I'm lame... :P
  8. Warning, scatterbrained post incoming... I'm 33, and a Lego addict. I started with Legos (the square blue bucket) when I was a small kid in the mid 80s, and could hardly ever put them down. Got into doing the Technic sets and just enjoyed myself with them. I could only keep the sets together for a few weeks until I got the stage of taking them apart for my own creations. Of course, once I "grew up" (pff, debatable) my Legos remained in the bin for over a decade. It was only a few years ago when I dumped out the old bin and built stuff with one of my old time friend whose a Lego addict too. We bought a few 'recent' sets (mainly for parts) for our "Lego Movie" we were going to make. My situation changed and ended up having to move. Just a few days ago, I ended up deciding to get back into some Technic stuff and bought the 42009 Crane MK2 while my girlfriend decided on one of larger Chima sets ($350 USD in Legos!?!). Her first set, ever. Not to mention buy *2 more* Chima sets 2 days later (another $150!?!). During construction of the crane, I seen many things I wanted to do differently and I had previously seen Jurgens ultimate crane mod (on this forum). But jeez I don't have any of these new studless parts. I *really* need to catch up, and now my girlfriend is addicted... My my, how Legos have changed since my last Technic set #8880. How I wish I knew about all this new stuff RC stuff. Anyway, I was a kid that put my Legos through hell... Dirt, sand, rocks, down hills, etc. Not to mention the "wars" my guys got into... Now as an adult, I still visualize how 'my guy' would make use of something I build. I still 'play' with my Legos, and use them to visualize mechanical mechanisms... That's enough for now...
