I took a couple of Lord of the Rings minifigs with me on holiday, hoping to get some opportunities for interesting pics. Here is a closeup of Eomer on his horse, with the sea in the background. I know Rohan is landlocked but still! When I was on the beach, I saw that someone had built a sandcastle, using stones to create a different effect than just the sand. It made for a cool visual so I stuck Eomer on it: These pics were all taken in Lanzarote, which is a volcanic island, much as all the Canary Islands are. At Timanfaya National Park I took this pic of an Uruk Hai standing on an actual volcano. I know it should have been a Mordor Orc but I still think it looks good: Thanks for looking! If anyone is interested I have more pics (and bigger ones) in my Lego Scenery Pics folder on Flickr.

Heroica RPG - Quest#92: The Prophetess and the Warrior

Tarn looked around to make sure the others were talking before taking Ella's hand and speaking softly but earnestly. "I would love to experience what you do... One time only, though. I am not sure I would be strong enough to have the visions all the time. You are a wonderful person, Ella." -

Not knowing what to expect on the voyage, Tarn thought it wise to take a Mead and a Nostrum. He then turns to Captain Lane, "I cannot speak for my companions, but I am ready to set sail." He smiled shyly at Ella. "Is this going according to what you saw? It will be nice spending some time with you." -

Tarn also takes a moment to equip the Overkill gloves he had been leant by Arthur. -

Tarn nods appreciatively to Henry Hinckwell. "Your assistance is most welcomed by myself and my companions. Thank you, Mr Hinckwell. Let me know if you need any gold as recompense for hiring this ship." He turns to Captain Lane. "Greetings Captain, I assure you we will be no trouble on this voyage." -

Tarn lets Arthur speak, knowing that diplomacy and a slight bending of the truth are needed here. -

"Yes, we will need the use of a ship soon," agreed Tarn. -

Tarn frowned as he tried to work through what Henry was saying. "So you wish for us to name this good deed, this favour, to then see if it is something you can fulfill? As the Monk noted, usually a reward is given through gifts of gold or helpful consumables. These help sustain our effectiveness to Heroica when we are called to Quest." -
Really well recreated from the game. That is one great Firefly!

"Yours is an honourable family, Mr Hinckwell. I have helped them in the past. Pray tell, what is this favour you speak of? Any assistance for myself and my companions here would be greatly welcomed." -

With the party stopped due to the appearance of Henry Hinckwell, the device was starting to strain Tarn's arms, but he did not let the fatigue show in front of Ella. Instead he put on a courteous smile. "Well met, Mr Hinckwell. We can spare time for a few words only, I am afraid. Speak freely, and we shall see if we can aid you." -

"Sorry Arthur, I think I should carry the equipment, it is my duty as party leader," he said, mainly to allw him to show off his strength to Ella. "I do not carry a Sapphire gem itself, but there is one embued into my battle axe, Helbaerend. Can you remove it, Doc Daneeka?" OOC: Sorry to hear you are unwell, Zeph. Take all the time you need. As an aside, I am back from holiday now and should be able to have more input again. Thanks to Flipz for Party Leadering in my absence. -
Like Nerwen, Tarn does not use contractions. Basically I think of him sounding a bit like Spartacus from the TV series, in that he is well spoken.

Tarn shrugged, at a loss to suggest anywhere that was private enough. -

Tarn smiles at the Doc whilst Arthur introduces the party, noticing again Arthur's correct formatting of his name. "Princess Ella Septrine of Dastan believes you may be able to assist us in retrieving a lost artifact," he added. -

In distributing the loot, Tarn gives the Remedy, Potion and 35 gold to Pretzel and the Grand Potion and 35 gold to Arthur. He also gives his Counterstrike Gloves to Pretzel. "They were honourable fellows. It shoupd not have come to violence." Tarn said sorrowfully. He then responded to Ella's question. "You know of my adventures, princess. In fact, you mentioned one in your letter. We had just failed to defeat the 108 Stars of Destiny and lost Jun Ji Pei in the process, but later we regrouped and rescued him. Both times we flew to Xu in an airship. You would have loved that, Ella. A truly amazing experience." -

Tarn aimed at Abel from the front row using Lion's Heart. "U'Voros, do nothing in the back row except look after the princess." -

ooc: oh right, that's what Jinxed is I was confusing it with Fragile. Wasted a Nostrum then! Also Zeph, I notce Tarn is still on 6 SP when it should be 8. -

ooc: I can't see where U'Voros was made Lucky to get the second roll for Sentinel? Probably skimming due to time constraints Tarn and U'Voros follow Arthur's lead and attack Cicero. -

Tarn sighed. it didn't always need to end up in combat, there must have been some way they could have got through to these people. They were simply doing their jobs. He and U'Voros prepared to follow Arthur's orders. -

Tarn faced Abel and spoke clearly. "We are going to pursue the book. I would advise that you do not try to stop us." Tarn then tries to take a Nostrum and a Mead, steeling himself for the Order Imperial' response. OOC: I hope I have not made Tarn speak wrongly for anyone, but I think it's fairly clear none of us wish to give up the Quest. Also, from tomorrow I am away on holiday for a week. This will limit my ability to check in and respond but I should be able to do so at least once or twice a day. Apologies, Zeph (and my fellow Questies). I am more than happy to relinquish Party Leader status whilst this is the case. If I am not around, just point Tarn at the nearest enemy and he'll take it from there! Cheers! -

Tarn watched with pride as Ella stood up to the Order Imperial. She certainly didn't back down, but sadly neither did Abel, so he thought it was time to say a few words. He stood face to face with Abel, unflinching. "I appreciate both your help earlier and your position on this lost book, I do. However we have been asked to help find it, and that is exactly what we are going to do, and you are not going to stop us. Now, please kindly leave and let us go about our business." -
One simple comment from Tarn has lead to several walls of text by you both on the future of robotic warfare, the inequalities of the system, and the trustworthiness of the Ji Pei as one of the six Houses. Good work!

"You both make valid points. I too was initially unsettled by the automata but they performed admirably during the Quest and were a big part of how we were able to rescue Jun Ji Pei from the clutches of the 108 Stars of Destiny. Do I imagine a time when all battles will be fought that way? Not in our lifetime, at least. Your disdain for the Ji Pei is understandable, Pretzel. They have undue influence ore Eubric whilst being secretive. However, all I can say is that every Ji Pei and those who work for them have seemed good people. A proud people, for sure, haughty even. I have dealt with far worse."
