Hi all, here are the first pictures of my newest project: F-109A Vampire class Space Superiority Fighter (class A): Its from the game Wing Commander Prophecy (1997)... I always liked that ship... ;) I need to rework the nose, because its way too wide.... And I still have no idea how to create the wings, because I haven't the parts that would be good for that job..... :|

They have to find other ways... I'm pretty sure there are millions (okay, at least hundreds... :$ ;)) of ways to solve the problem.... This ebay solution would be a possibility for those who don't have a valid email adress (maybe because they are using internet-by-call or whatever) but an ebay account... What about company adresses? E.g. peter.parker@company-xy.com.... Those should be valid, or not? (In the case that the company gives those adresses only to their employees...)

Thats very similar to my ebay idea.... The "wannabe-member" tell the FBTB staff his / her ebay name, than FBTB sends a message via the seller-contact option to this name, and if there comes a return confirming that this seller is the guy with the free mail adress the new member can now be tracked by its ebay name...

Sorry, my post wasn't supposed to judge your acting... I just wanted to try to explain why you are doing things and what I think could / will happen... What you see at the makeshift board is, that already some members are saying that they don't know how to join... Those members that are really connected to FBTB will try to sign up as long as it needs, but I think many passive members that joined up on the old board just for reading and some of those that signed up but only visited rarely maybe will not find those "15 minutes to get access to a friends email"... Those are the groups I talked about in the sentence you quoted... Nonetheless I said its up to you what to do... I wouldn't try to solve the troll problem by the way you do, but I still am allowed to say my opinion about your solution. That I don't like the way you try to solve problems and that I say what I think about the consequences DOESN'T mean that I wish this to FBTB (and I'm especially not "wishing doom" upon the community... And I'm very sure none of us does this...) I hope I was able to correct the sound of my previous post... So you will make exceptions? As far as I understood Duchessa's point ("where do you draw the line") I thought you wouldn't?

Yes, they want to make sure every member can be found (via the valid e-mail adresses, those services have the real names and so on of their members) if they make troubles... Its just a question of responsibility and safety... IMO its up to the FBTB staff to decide if this is the wrong or right way to handle the troll problems... This way for sure is making things more complicated for FBTB (and for the members that have no valid email adress) For sure their community will stop growing and many members will be lost by this decission... But as I said: Its up to Ace, Denise and the of their staff to do so or not to do so... It's their place and the members are their guests, so THEY are allowed to select... ;) (BTW: I had a valid adress some years ago, but I forgot both the adress itself AND the password.... :$)
