  1. erm..... isn't that the correct way to mount a launcher (with scope) so the wider part of the lens is facing the enemy? that's always been a rocket launcher in my eyes.... turning it the other way (to me) makes it a mounted machine gun and the "scope" could be the ammo feed
  2. I doubt it Lionbear8, it's unlikely to be a high earner, as the market is quite niche - many kids today haven't seen the 66 series, and although children won't "care" what the figures look like etc, to be a "66" series set, adults would expect the figures to have the same attention to detail that they have used on the Batcave figures it may be viewed by Lego as too much effort, for little guarantee of return in the form of sales etc
  3. how will these power blast things work, do we think they're going to act as a spring from the hands, in which case is over-use going to ruin minifig hands (in the same way people complained about the super jumpers?)
  4. does anyone know or understand what the yellow crystal inside the pizza van is supposed to represent? at first I thought it was supposed to be a doner kebab, but now I have absolutely no idea what it could be for, unless he's rich enough to be showing off that he has random gold bars knocking about in his van (as you do....!)
  5. dude, it's Lego.... there's about a hundred ways to connect them using various methods, like Technic pins or additional struts underneath etc
  6. totally agree, the only "connection" is the little alleyway between the buildings where the doors seem to be, I'm sure as hell gonna try it in that way
  7. I'm confused to why people think the next modular may be a hospital - if it's called Assembly Square (assuming that is the title of the modular) then what would that phrase have to do with a hospital? to me, an Assembly Square sounds like the kind of central area of a town, which could work as the centre of a modular display, but the name sounds like a place where people assemble, like a park of some kind.... but if it's a park or a large fountain in a town square (with seating, and maybe a hotdog stand?) then how is that in keeping with the large modular buildings? perhaps Assembly Square is something else for the City theme, and not the next modular title? maybe the next modular building is larger than previous ones, perhaps with 2 baseplates, maybe a full "32x32" and a half "16x32" plate, so it offers a smaller section which can slot inbetween two other modulars, or combined with the larger building?
  8. what sets are these??? I haven't seen any "mini-modular style" sets since the 10230 set
  9. I've got two Pet Shops as I got one on half-price offer from a shop closing down near me, I wanted it purely for a second apartment building, but really really want another.... I've also got the cinema, but haven't built it yet as I need to wait until I have redecorated in order to put the new shelves up to fit all this stuff! (my wife will kill me when she realises the extent of my Lego display!)
  10. you can do this already - just build the model in the mirror image of the plans :) I know some people did that with the Brick Bank so it's the "left" side of their displays, as the cinema was their right-hand corner display
  11. wouldn't the bigfig villain make more "sense" if it was Iron Monger rather than Detroit Steel?
  12. then I guess you've got a long drive ahead of you.... or just buy it online, and have it delivered to your home (simples!) :)
  13. I've just bought the Doc Ock set for £32.50 from Amazon.... I've got about £35's worth of VIP points that I'm now saving for next year's modular (at this rate...!)
  14. the absolute best possible outcome here would be something similar to the Haunted House (10228) but given that there are no vehicles in that set, I'd expect any type of Wayne Manor (if they ever did create one) to be less of a full structure, and more like a facade and various levels behind it, so they could include a vehicle or two also however...... I seriously doubt we'd ever get a full Manor building, otherwise people would be clamouring for an X-Mansion as well!
  15. I don't get all this talk about store exclusive sets - it's all available via Shop@Home anyway, so why not just buy it directly from Lego rather trying to find a store also stocking it?
  16. I'm tempted to buy 3! and build out two bridges as you say, and then use a 3rd set to build out the middle span section entirely
  17. I can't tell what's wrong with the symbol - it looks good, and it's in keeping with the new movie look..... I like it
  18. the pound isn't "cheaper", the difference is the exchange rate means you can usually get $1.5 for every £1 but many companies call it the same - $39.99 becomes £39.99 (no idea why!!!)
  19. is leg/arm printing or dual-moulding seen as "the norm" now?? what next? someone complaining that minifig hands don't look authentic enough to match the comics? personally, I think it's a decent set for what it is! everyone complaining about the details or the complexity of the sets seems to be overlooking one small aspect - Lego is (primarily) a children's toy, and as long as kids are happy with it, that's the primary goal of the designer just because adults are into Lego too doesn't mean that small sets like this are aimed at the adult market, that is what the expert/UCS sets are supposed to be for (apart from the Hoth joke!)
  20. is anyone else planning to use the "collar" of Kraven to make a makeshift Sabretooth?
  21. not sure if others have asked this, but are there two torsos for the blonde character?? http://brickfanatics.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/ghostbusters-8.jpg http://brickfanatics.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/ghostbusters-27.jpg http://brickfanatics.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/ghostbusters-33.jpg
  22. agreed, not many kids will have even seen the old comic books, so it doesn't make good business sense for Lego to alienate their target market (children, it's a toy after all ) by releasing figures based on characters they haven't seen or heard of before - at least by releasing designs based on New 52, they stand a good chance of building sales, and their licencing partners can get the additional sales from kids wanting to read comics featuring the same characters
  23. have I missed something here? what new BvS sets? there's 3 available already on Lego.com so either Argos are way behind the times here, or there's more sets to come - which is it?
