  1. So good, i love small but detailed scenes like this, you are clearly very skilled to make it so realistic. Very impressed.
  2. Incredible! I love the colour scheme, it's amazing, and there is a genuinely consistent style through the whole scene. The flipper tiles look wicked, not just clever but also realistic.
  3. Plus it can be cold and windy on the open sea...its good to keep at least one eye cosy and protected.
  4. That is wicked! I love the two-toned stone work, and i reckon those lime-green palm fronds add some great colour. I love that dense-vegetation look too, its something im playing around with myself. Love the bird too.
  5. many historic / fantasy MOCs play with texture; lots of rough surfaces and lines, and arguably colour precision might less important in these instances. So if colour ain't your forte, you might be able to show your Lego creativity in other ways? I have been thinking about this a lot recently, you can sometimes place limits on your creativity by putting up unnecessary boundaries. Anyway, best of luck brother, I look forward to seeing the results!
  6. This is such an epic build, I love castles with those long bridges, like something out of vampire hunter D, very cool. The water is spot on, and the mountain forest breaks up the grey of the castle and stonework, which is ace. And the little features like cove keep the landscape interesting. I am equal parts impressed, jealous and intimidated. Well done.
  7. Solid little scene!
  8. Granted the last pirates set I put together was sabre island, and I was eagerly awaiting this line, but I loved this set. Just a great combination of awesome figs, parts, and detail for its size. I was probably a little more impressed with 'soldiers outpost', which set the scene so well for such a small set, but the fort does not disappoint. Pretty disappointed with the lack of treasure chests in this line though...just feel they are lacking....
  9. So damn good, the colours, the realistic interiors, that wicked veg on the side wall, just the right amount of texture, there is nothing about this I don't like. The bar and the cannon room are my favourites, and the chandelier is genius.
  10. I love how much you've fit into the landscape without it being cluttered. There is a real seamless progression from the beach, through the jungle and to the mountains. Well done brother.
  11. that head looks sick!
  12. This was really hard, I went with attack on weathertop though. For me, it just represented the scene so well, and had such great details and features. I also loved how it opens up. And the minifigs....
  13. I second that. I think there is a real art to designing an 'official-style' set, in restraining yourself while creating as much detail and features with as few elements as possible. It looks really amazing.
  14. My first time seeing it too, it's breathtaking. The stonework is not overstated and it looks so realistic. Incredible.
  15. Thanks very much everyone for making me feel welcome, it will take me a while to get used to eurobricks, but hope to see you all in the forums.
  16. Hello, I am Simon from Melbourne Australia, and am very excited to be joining Eurobricks. I love all Lego themes, but at the moment am really loving Pirates, Star Wars, and Elves. I am currently working on some medieval, castle, and pirates MOCs, and have been really inspired by the incredible MOCs on this forum. Apart from Lego, I love music (mainly 90s rock, industrial, metal etc...) books (Philip K Dick, JG Ballard) movies and drama's (Deadwood, Rome, the Wire, pretty much everything HBO). If you would like to, you can see the small number of MOCs i have made here: https://www.flickr.c.../119598615@N05/ Looking forward to getting to know you all. Simon
