  1. This is demo, but I am heading to games, not CAD.
  2. What if LDD would have modern graphics engine? With MSAA, real shadow, physical based renderer... Take a look what is possible [1080p, 60Hz]:

  16. Some old set inventories like http://brickset.com/sets/1361-1/Camera-Car have a lot of missing parts. But if I push http://brickset.com/inventories/1361-1/rebrickable link, I will see inventories with another format of part IDs, than LDD uses For example, instead of 73200 for legs, it will be 970c00. I wonder, is there a full map between these identificators? Does anyone use LDraw inventory list?
  17. Once I heard that mobile devices are designed for content consumption. PCs on the other hand, are good in content creation (with precise input devices, big monitors and a lot of CPU/GPU power). So I can consider mobile apps as LXF viewers (for some model library in the cloud). Maybe as instruction viewer for the LXFs, but with big limitations to their display size. Does anyone has ideas, what is it possibly to do on mobile device applying to Lego modeling/simulation?
  18. Improving startup time. It seems LDD on each start parses last 6 opened files to show images of the files in the thumbnail window. The time, LDD spending on this operation is big. I think it is because instead of just taking images from LXF(zip) files, it completely parses LXFML. I suggest: 1. Just take PNG images from LXFs and render them without complete parsing LXFMLs. 2. Use all cores for this operation (a CPU core per file). It should reduce startup time.
  19. Great job! The only thing I suggest to fix is to add file notes.txt to the Installer project. It does not compile without it. After I've added empty notes.txt to the installer folder, the project has been compiled successfully.
  20. 1. SSD. 2. Enough RAM to run 32 bit application. Some model may take up to 2 GB of it. 3. LDD version 4.3.8 is single-core. So CPU overlocking is a good idea. Many cores are not required yet. 4. I am using GeForce 660, and have no issues with it, but old videocards (like my 7-years old integrated intel on laptop) may work bad.
  21. Hod Carrier, do you have both checked: "High-quality rendering of bricks placed in the scene" AND "High-quality rendering of bricks in the Brick palette"? Without the checks I also have "Outline on bricks" disabled. Sorry, I've missed the part that you have greyed high quality options too =)
  22. 75915 Pteranodon Capture Theme: Jurassic World (2015) LXF <LDD 4.3.8/1564.2> Errors: 1. No prints/stickers 2. Can't paint the reptile with multiple colors
  23. 40081 LEGOLAND Picture Frame - Florida Edition Theme: Miscellaneous (2013) LXF <LDD 4.3.8/1564.2> Errors: 1. No picture frame in LDD from page 23. 2. No prints/stickers
  24. I think if you will use implicit auto-save of the current file, you will lose "Undo" functional. Maybe it's better to save the last state of current model in separate LXFML file without touching current LXF? For example, C:\Users\Happy SDE\Application Data\LEGO Company\LastEdit.lxfml On crash - open the file. LXFML is lighter than LXF, because it will not save picture and will not zip the file. But saving XML every step may cause performance problems and hit your laptop battery. The better solution is bug-free LDD BTW, when I notice, that LDD is going to crash, I hit Ctrl+S. In 80% cases all changes will be saved.
