I love the history when it come to the members of EB. This is an excellent topic Hinckley. At least now I know I cannot just give myself a title. Some of the titles given are just pure joy and some are just laugh out loud funny. I would love to hear more about other members' titles. Thanks everyone! :-)

You sir are correct. All 2007 SW sets, accept the battle packs. It is written within the LEGO magazine that you get if you go to a LEGO store, as I was just at one this past weekend. Anyway, SW4J, I hope that helps you out. I will post videos on You Tube once I figure out how. DB

This is a very excellent Darth Vader. I love the details to the arms. The SI is great too, although I do agree with *yoda* that the buzz droid head has to go. I am curious if this person works for LEGO it self, so he/she knows how it works, but cannot say anything without the fear of losing the job. Conspiracy Theory On! :-P DB

I can, but you have to remember that these are quite short (20sec.) or so. I did not get much time there due to the amount of people and the lack of a steady hand. Any particular place that I can upload the videos to that fellow EBers can watch? Thanks. DB

These are much better pictures of the new set, thanks Simon. I really do like the color scheme, although one has to wonder why this color scheme and not the same one that was used for Cafe Corner. Hmm... :-/

Hi all- I was just curious if either the current Creator House or the new is mini-fig scale? Thanks. DB

Wow, I have not been on this site in a long time. At any rate I had to respond to this as I was at CIV in LA. I did have the chance to pull a raffle ticket on one of those days to purchase one of these limited sets. Sadly I did not win. However, I did have the time of my life there and plenty of people selling older sealed Star Wars sets. In fact, even the LEGO booth had some older discontinued sets. Plus I had the chance to see the new models up close and personal(video taped it too), including the new MF. Anyway, CIV was the place to be for any kind of Star Wars fan. DB

Do you have insurance for your lego collection?
Dark Brick replied to mutley777's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is definitely an engaging subject matter Muttley. You made a man think. Although I do have renter's insurance and an additional amount to insure my computers, but I never thought of insuring my LEGOs. I guess I just did not think this was necessary until now. I have been keeping tabs on what I have through Peeron and let me tell you that I have over $5000US worth of sets from thier original MSRP(not counting current market value as a collectible and that some are almost 2 decades old or for that matter all the loose pieces that I have picked up over the years). With that said, I technically have them insured, but I may just upgrade my insurance on the next renewal when that time comes. I will also put in my video game collection into this addon as I hold some rare games that I love to bits. In case anyone is curious, my insurance cost was about $200US for the year. This is worth every penny to me. DB -
looking for a couple old brown bricks...
Dark Brick replied to Brick Miner's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hi Brick Miner- Sorry pal, but no dice on that size. The longest I have is 1x10 in old brown. I buy so much LEGO sometimes in bulk, but even this piece eludes me. I guess you would have to be right in saying that this is definitely the rarest of rare pieces. Although if you are ever in the need of anything else look me up and who knows, I may just have what you are looking for. ;-) Oh and in case your are curious, I would take $3 max for each of those as I know how hard it is to get certain pieces, but that should not mean that you have to take out a second mortgage on the house just to buy it. Cheers! -
Vienna: 3 for 2 at TRU Huma Center
Dark Brick replied to Asuka's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Well I took advantage of the offer that TRU has this week and let me tell you, this is a great way of getting more for your money, whether you buy the small sets or the big sets. So far this is what I got: *wub* 2x 7890 Ambulance 2x 7945 Fire Station 1x 7239 Fire Truck 1x 7903 Rescue Helicopter 1x 7942 Off Road Fire Rescue 1x 7237 Police Station 1x 8673 Ferrari F1 Fuel Stop I will probably go again tomorrow, but to another TRU to see if the inventory is different. The above is 2 days worth and 2 different stores. I wanted to get the Airport but TRU is charging $10 more for it than TLC is, although it seems that they do this with most of the LEGOs they sell. Cheers! DB -
Thanks for the background Mike. I figured technical background was what you have. Anyway it is nice to see that you can make LEGOs more engaging than the mere toy that they appear to be. Personally I do not do too much of that or rather much of MOCing in general due to lack of time and other hobbies. Maybe when I retire I will have the chance to make my own GBC. X-D DB

looking for a couple old brown bricks...
Dark Brick replied to Brick Miner's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hey BM. If you have a picture of what you are looking for exactly that would help. Then I can look through my stuff. Let me know. DB -
Vienna: 3 for 2 at TRU Huma Center
Dark Brick replied to Asuka's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hey Asuka! Thanks for the tip. I checked the local TRU ad here in the States and it seems to be the same sale. Now I just have to decide on how to benefit the most. DB -
If they re-issued Omega Supreme, I would totally buy that one. :-D *wub* I have found Transformers at a recent visit to the Flea Market, but I declinded to purchase any due to the lack of weapons. Cheers! DB

I like the Delorean as well, Back to the Future movies are great. Also along with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, don't forget Herby: The Love Bug. I always loved a car that can spray oil at its adversaries and drive itself FTW. Cheers! DB

what is the least favorite game you have ever played?
Dark Brick replied to casewindu's topic in Culture & Multimedia
For me it would have to be XIII(Cube/PS2). I absolutely hated the fact that you were not able to change the control scheme to what you wanted and got stuck with two very poor choices. Because of this, the missions became a pain and using a guide did not help due to this problem. I will stick to Halo for my FPS fix any day of the week instead. Cheers! DB -
Wow, I have to say that you guys need to chill. The fanboy status is getting old. I would like to point out that none of the companys are paying you to promote thier machine, so stating negative things about the other only hurts the gamer inside. That said, it is the games that make or break the console. Graphics may be one thing, but game play is of upmost importance. I own all of the last gens consoles, but each one was bought based on games that came out for it. The Cube, for its party games and quirky Japanese characters. The PS2 for the RPGs, which I own most of them. The X-Box for the FPS and Racing games so I can play with friends online. Although I waited a while after launch of each console to buy them, I still purchased the games that I knew I would play, because I am more of a colletor than a player now a days. (Still have a working Sega Saturn with most of the rarest RPGs on any console, including PDS). Now with this next gen I voted for the 360. Simple really, the amount of games that I actually want to play is great; GOW, Blue Dragon, GR, Halo 3, Eternal Sonata, etc. The PS3 is impressive, but none of the games; with the exception of Resistence, are worth the price of admission at this time. I will wait till they start to announce some good RPGs then I may be more interested. The Wii on the other hand to me seems like a gimmic(kind of like the C3 mini-fig in this summer's SW sets). In all honesty none of the games are appealing so far on that console, save for the fact of Zelda: TP, but I picked that up on sale for the Cube instead. So in the end it is and will always be about the games. My opinion and I am sticking to it. Oh yeah I am glad that I waited in buying my 360, now I can get the new one and finally see how much of a difference HDMI makes on my TV. Cheers. DB

Vending Machine II
Dark Brick replied to Ricardo Oliveira's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think you and Mark Bellis(EB member) have remarkable talent in creating intricate real working models. I have to say that now I have seen almost everything that has been developed by the LEGO community. Now I have this urge to purchase the new Mindstorms set just to see what can be done myself. Thank for the inspiration. DB -
These are the last few movies I have seen listing from the most recent. Stranger Than Fiction 300 The Departed DB

Well it is obvious that bickering leads to inaccurate comments and misused terms. Like SW4J stated, this is not racist, as it has nothing to do with the color of one's skin. Please use proper terminology before posting. Personally I do not care whether I get one or not. I have at least one regular version and I am happy with that. Besides your odds of getting one are extremely low and you are not going to go and purchase every set multiple times just to attain one, so why then all the fuss. I would like to point out that there are a lot of young people on EB who do not have jobs or the money and have to beg thier parents to buy them stuff. You are the ones causing the rift in all of this, because no matter where they(C3) would end up, you still would not be able to get one, yet you would still complain that TLC is treating you unfairly. Now for the reasons that this is occuring, if it even is true. 1)TLC may not be doing so well in Europe as in the States, so they chose to run this kind of promotion here. 2)Being that Star Wars is an American IP, one can see why this is only going to be a promotion in the States. 3)Remember TLC is using a license, there may be clauses in the contract that stipulate the destinations of such promotions and therefore giving the license holder(Lucas) control over what happens to gimmics and promotions such as this one. 4)Finally, TLC may have an entirely different promotion happening in the future for the EU, but they do not have the resources to do it all at once. Dig. Remember this is a chase figure, they want you to purchase sets like crazy so they can make thier shareholders happy. Because at the end of the day it is all about business. Otherwise have fun with what you got and do not dwell on it so much. Cheers! DB

You is a crafty one Mr. *vader* I sure as heck have no such talent. I would be lucky if I could draw a stick figure. Although I do paint minitures on occasion, does that count? By the way I still love the Thundercats more. DB

Thundercats....HO!!! Custom figs 2
Dark Brick replied to Vader's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
To JoeMI6, bah humbug to you. :-P Now this is MOCing at its best. I loved that show, even had some of the action figures, but never would have thought they could be done in LEGO form. Supurb job *vader* . You captured the Thundercats with some wicked great detail. I love Mumm-ra and Lion-O's claw. I like Mutley's suggestion for the monkey for Snarf too. Here is one more, you could use Ewoks as the Berbils. Also are you pondering on whether to make the Thunder Tank or the Cat's Lair? Now: "What is thy bidding my master?" For I would like Mumm-ra. X-D DB -
Hey Mark, nice to meet you. Your GBC is quite intriguing. Very well thoughtout. Seems like an engineer's dream machine. I wonder if this can be done on a larger scale like some kind of layout with a theme like a pinball machine. I am curious, is your background in physics, mathematics, or a discipline of engineering? Or all of the above? Lets just say that "inertia" is not a word heard/typed here often. You have definitely posted some very intriguing pieces on EB. It is nice to know that LEGOs can be used in more intelligent ways. DB

Am I too late for the reception!? X-D Anyway exceptionally well thought out SW4J. I even loved the suit on *yoda* ! Although one has to wonder if *vader* had to use the force on his guests so they would stick around till the end. :-P Cheers. DB
