If it is indeed winding down (would be a shame as there's still loads of scope for HP) then a big MOC comp would be great. But I say to TLG "KEEP POTTER ALIVE", but feel free to drop Pirates..!
-
Yeah I agree with the last part. I refuse to be held to ransom by some ebay scummer asking for £779.

Imagine how large their warehouses would need to be to have a supply of every brick at our disposal.? It wouldn't be cost effective enough

I was really looking forward to this set but after seeing the picture I doubt I'll pick this set up. As many have pointed out already there's no real feel that this is Echo Base with the exception of the Bacta tank and Hoth figures. Do we really need another Han in Hoth outfit..? I would have preferred a couple of more rebel officers. There's no need for another speederbike so instead a mini landing strip with a snow speeder would have been better. They could have even taken the mold of the Home One set and modded to make a better Hoth set in my opinion. Me and my brother were talking about this set earlier and both agreed that TLG really nail getting the ships right but struggle with the play sets (with the exception of the Endor set). I really hope that whoever designed this set is not allowed anywhere near Jabba's Palace if that's next on the list..!

I really liked the set that they used for the Pirate Court in World's End. Got a nice back end of a Pirate ship and table for the Pirate Lords to sit round. A massive Port Royal would be awesome as well

Hiya Macoco, yeah I think you're right in that it would need to be reshaped a little so it doesn't look like the Death Star. I had a look at the Yavin base from the Visual Dictionary and I wasn't overly keen on it. I agree though that sets are difficult to do expecially with regards pricing. TLG are sort of stuck really as I see that they have two markets to supply for, 1/young kids who just want Lego to play with and 2/us older collectors who want the world.! I would like to see some diaramas though of key scenes or locations (Palpatine's Office and Jedi Master Chamber for a start)but I guess at least we can create our own MOC's for diaramas. Shall be interested to see what the new Hoth set looks like though.

I agree with you and mentioned I think last week in another thread that there needs to be a really decent Cloud City. I didn't like the original one that much and I think TLG could easily remold the Ultimate Death Star and mod it so that it resembles Cloud City. The top part could be Han and Leia's suite joining onto the dining room where they were greated with Vader. The middle section could be a large landing pad with a Twin Pod Car (not enough space for the Falcon though I guess). A small room where C3PO got shot. Next room could be a corridor plaza bit which has the large white elevator leading to the upper level and into the bowels. The bottom section really could do with a decent Carbon Freezing Chamber, which would also be good for the start of the duel, leading to the other sets where the duel played out finishing to the iconic gangway where Luke loses his hand. Maybe if there's space there could also be a small incinerator section where Chewie found Threepio and the Uganaughts. I know this sounds a lot but to be honest if TLG bought out a set like this at the £270-£300 mark who wouldn't buy it..? C'Mon TLG make our dreams come true..!

What's wrong with the 7931..? It's not the worst ship I've seen TLG do!
-
Ha ha I can just see her face when she comes home from work to see me sitting on the sofa with a full sized Lego version of her. "Hi Honey, I'd like you to meet someone..!".
-
That would be great. Would love to buy a few and build an ultimate version. Just trying to think who'd i'd be more in trouble with, the bank or the wife..!

Thanks for the heads up. I feel an overdraft extension calling..!

REVIEW: 8804 LEGO Minifigures Series 4
AngryChair replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Awesome review. Can whole boxes be purchased over here in the UK..? -
I for one would love to see a revamp of Jabba's Palace. I'm lucky in that I still have the original boxed along with the 2 bolt-on smaller packs (Jabba's Prize and Message I think they were called). Jabba also needs a new re-mold and the Guards also need it. I do wish the TLG would do more in the way of diaramas as the Palace would look awesome if done right. We could also use a Rancor. The large Rock Monster that was put into the Power Miners set last year could easily be remolded into this. My brother and I were also talking about how the Ultimate Death Star could also be redesigned to form an ultimate Cloud City. There were plenty of areas of Cloud City in Empire which could fill the Death Star space. I would pay through the nose for that.! Speaking of the Ultimate Death Star, does anyone know how long this will be available for..?

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

I bought some about 3 years ago and they were the same as usual figures but with magnets set into the legs. Apart from the magnets they were basic figures.! Hope that helps Cheers Jay -
I think my 4 year old nephew could do better than that. I love Lego but I have my limits.!

Clash of the Titans would be an awesome range. I'm hoping for a new Batman re-release in late 2012 to crank up the momentum for the next Batman movie.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
AngryChair replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm well liking the look of the werewolf. If it does indeed look like that it would be a very nice horror piece to have in the collection seeing how the previous Studios version was not great (still it was 2002 I think) when it came out. It's going to be an expensive year...............(again). So glad we're moving to a bigger place! -
Us over here in the UK have to pay just under £10 which works out nearly $16..! Not cheap are they..! Very nice though
-
We could always put them in via Post Production..! Was well impressed with this over the weekend. Vindice has a few pretty cool animation ideas up his sleeve...
-
This is looking well awesome at the moment. The inside looks better already as you've filled the hall with people. This is going to be massive.! Nice work!

Star Wars Lego - Jedi vs Sith the movies
AngryChair replied to AngryChair's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Thank you all for your comments thus far. I've just started on working on the backgrounds for Episode 3 which are a lot more detailed and realistic. The overal sets will be a lot more detailed as I agree the grey plate walls were not overly inspiring..!! Once again will be heavy on the VFX and want to try mouth animations for this one too. Hope to have it ready by sometime in the summer and then working on a s/motion Harry Potter theme with my brother Vindice. Thanks again AC -
Monkey Jam is pretty decent, but I currently use Anazzi Stop Motion Animator. It's free and works great on Windows XP. I'm not overly sure how well it works on Win 7 or VIsta. HeliumFrog is another which is supposed to be OK aswell.. Cheers

Hi My brother pointed me in the direction of this site last week (can't believe I missed this one..!) Over the past year and a half I've been doing a Stop Motion project featuring a trilogy of SW themed stop motion films. Got the final part planned for next year..I really wanted to focus on a heavy amount of VFX so a lot of these were filmed against greenscreens and then a lot was done in post production. You may have already seen these but just in case you haven't, I thought you may like to take a look. Thanks for looking.! Part 1 Part 2 Cheers AC
