Could be to depict the bug-eyed nature of Gollum. He does have big saucer like eyes in the film. This range is really shaping up nice though. Going to be hard to resist these sets later in the year

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
AngryChair replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'd agree with that although maybe a cross between the two would be a good idea. TCW figure does the job in capturing the cartoon quality and is perfect for that range but I think he looks a little out of place against the OT sets. Either way though yes, better than the original in my opinion -
That is a very imppressive build. Congratulations on being able to display it. The flying landspeeder is very well done

With Spiderman being such a strong seller for Marvel I imagine he will get a really decent set. Do we know if it will be based on the new film or from comics.?

The price could possibly be due to incredible dinos. I bet they aint cheap to make. I agree, the Triceratop set it nice, infact they all are.

I'd agree with you on a few of the figures. The minataur is very good and I also like the western gunslinger and the Genie. Not a fan of many of the other figures though. -
Gollum with additional shoulder mounted canon Predator style. I think Samwise would have been less critical of him if he had one of them..!
-
I actually like the Gollum figure. Is the stud supposed to resemble his boney spine perhaps..?
-
I think it would seem logical that there would be a re-design (re-issue) of the Gunship for the release of AotC. Maybe another version of Dooku's Solar Sailor as well.
-
Totally forgot about Azrael. Would be a nice figure. A ClayFace would be great. Do you think it would be the same size as Hulk..?
-
Indeed that would be nice. It features heavily in TCW so I bet we'll see them both over the next couple of years. (Nice avatar btw!)

I agree, while MaCullum said that it wouldn't be in the vein of Game of Thrones or DeadWood for its portrayal of sex and language it would be generally darker that what we're used to. I have my doubts about that kind of series though. I also agree with comments about CW not being really aimed at kids. Some of the episodes have been dark, but for us older fans awesome..! But if it gives us more sets instead of re-issues for the next 10 years and they are of good design then I'm all for it

There's some decent figures listed there. A Hulk or Wampa sized Killer Croc would be a welcome addition. Also a similar sized pumped up Bane would also be pretty nice. There's a mine of potentially great figures with the X-Men range but would also like to add Silver Surfer to the mix as already mentioned earlier.

You won't regret it as both sets are awesome.!

I'd agree with you on this point. In the 80's when the original space range came out there were no comics, cartoons and obviously no web for us to base stories on. This then made me and my brothers create our own stories based on the sets (a couple of star ships, a base and some smaller pieces). This went on for years and expanded as the ranges did. I don't see any reason why the Dino range needs a story to be deemed as successful. I think kids would make their own story if they were left too it as the dinos are awesome and the sets are amazing quality. As quoted above, it would promote good fun imaginitive play

I agree with you. TLG have really pulled out the stops this year. Designs and range are top notch IMHO

I read an article with Rick MaCullum and he was saying that Star Wars Underworld will be a little more adult in theme (by that I mean gritty) so it may not be aimed at kids. If that is the case I struggle to see how TLG would market what is in effect a child's toy based on an adult theme. I can see maybe 2-3 more Clone Wars series and then a cartoon based on The Old Republic MMO. With that and the game I can see both TLG and Lucas mining that for a while. They've recently renewed the license so they must have something planned to keep the franchise going. As someone already said above, there will only be so many redesigns of the X-Wing and Falcon etc.
-
I agree with you. It's a fine line isn't it in that TLG have to try and balance between the purists who grey up with the original comics and those who are familiar with the movies and the over use of leather jump suits.! Still I bet you're happy then with the trad' yellow Wolverine.?

I think if this was the reverse side of a duel sided face it would look pretty good. -
They are nice aint they and really glad TLG have done a redesign of the horses. Just wish they made poseable legs for the Hobbits though
-
I agree with you on Darkseid but to be fair they don't really have the same panache as say The Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow etc. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking your choice here but just don't think they are strong enough to sell sets

Sorry, had to requote as that made me laugh out loud.! Back to topic though, I thought the dots were gotten rid of ages ago. Is there a sheet or .pdf with these on for series 6..? I could use some soldiers and a couple of other figures
