  1. Maybe have them set in a sort of messy disorganised fashion? This is what I have in my room, though it's getting a little too messy from a lack OF room. The cubes were bought from Kmart (Australia). It's nothing on Blakbird's collection/display though.
  2. The worm gear might be used for the grappling claw of the B model.
  3. Wow, these models look great! For the unimog, PF + pneumatics = compressor maybe??
  4. I just finished building this set not too long ago and it really is a magnificent set. Sure it might be fairly simple in terms of complexity and not breaking any new grounds as far as Technic goes, but I think it's a really well balanced set. The main things I like about it are; - Well detailed for the Technic line, particularly the front grill and the cab region. Despite Technic coming a long way in aesthetics, I think the 8285 sits right up there. - Inclusion of double rear wheels. It's not much, but it certainly adds to the truck's appeal - It has a fair amount of Technic goodies with all the rear implements operable in some way or form. - Fairly rigid for a studless build of this size and wheelbase length. - It sits very nicely next to the 8258 Crane Truck - 2 x 32L Technic chopsticks! All in all, I really like this set and if you're pondering over whether or not to get one on Bricklink/eBay, I highly recommend you do. =D Hopefully these pictures turn out OK. First time posting pictures in a post, so please be nice. I don't have a brickshelf account, so I hope a direct link to imageshack is OK.
  5. I think it's just perpendicular connectors attached to the beam via two of these 1 x 2 thin liftarms
  6. That's fantastic! it's like the lovechild between the Hauler, Crane Truck and Cherry Picker I like the back, especially how the outriggers are 'beefed up'. It gives it much more substance and a sense that they're there not just for show. The small operators chair is a nice touch too.
  7. I like how you designed the steering connecting joints using two of the universal connectors (I think that's what they're called). It gives the flexibility required without needing to use ball joints. =D
  8. It looks really nice! Maybe make some sort of trailer if you have the parts and time. I'm curious to know if that's front suspension I see or just what seems to be double wishbone and a shock?
  9. I was waiting all along for the control stick to be rotated for some yaw. I thought there was going to be some rotational connection going through all those axle connectors.
  10. Whilst you're on the topic of Lego bios, it appears all the internal people involved with Lego Technic have updated their profile images. I kinda like these small bios as it lets you put a face behind particular models that you build. One thing I do note is the missing bio of Anders Gaasedal Christensen (Goose Valley) which was there a few days ago. Surely he hasn't moved on as well, not right after he's done the 8043?
  11. I look forward to the Leopard 2!. It looks fantastic!. I was beginning to wonder when we might see a new LEGO model up on your website. =D I believe this is constantly stated, but I like how your models incorporate aesthetics AND function with quite little compromise (if any at all). They look the deal and work the deal. It's always enjoyable to read and watch the reports that you make.
  12. Hahaha. I had a sinking suspicion that was going to be the case for the 8466 as well, but looking at my model I thought, nah... it looks centered, but surely the 8448 was a one off lucky case
  13. Haha. Or make it into the million dollar question on "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" Q: In which official 'LEGO Technic' set is the gearstick the centre of geometric rotation when the model is rotated about the Y axis? A: 8880 Super Car C: 8466 4X4 Off-Roader B: 8448 Super Street Sensation D: 8480 Space Shuttle tick.. tick.. tick..
  14. That's fantastic! =D I can see how you noticed it when making the gif though. That gear stick sticks out like a sore thumb.
  15. Better yet, have it as the flagship and motorise the transformation with mini-LA's and various gears. Now wouldn't that be something!
