. . . because it was building on an already established design from the previous page? That being said, I really like what the new parts you picked out! Now we may just have to mix and match until we find the best look possible! :) "After looking into it a bit, I guess Mento isn't that prominent a Doom Patrol member after all." > I didn't recognize his name before, so that makes sense. "I checked out the new Doom Patrol comic and I think I'm gonna try for some of those versions of the Doom Patrol as the team develops." > Go for it! Good luck! "I definitely wanna finish up my Post-Crisis lineup, with just Robotman and a good head for Elasti-Girl away." > I hope that works out, and I can't wait to see how that turns out. Pictures, please!! :) "It'd be nice to get Bumblebee in on that, too, but she can be really tough to nail." > I always thought that Bumblebee was more Titans West than Doom Patrol, seeing as her DP membership, although Post-Crisis, was still pretty short-lived. That said, I don't think she's that hard to do. She can be made with a mix of Sinestro and Savage Oppress parts, kind of like the popular versions of Marvel's Wasp that are floating around Flickr, or the actual bee suit CMF mixed with the cheetah suit girl arms for details (they're both bright light orange), topped off with one of the two or so female African-American faces we have and Princess Leia's classic dual bun hair. Plus, we even have the official DC Superhero Girls version that's coming out soon, so there's no excuse. :P "I'm not even gonna bother with Ambush Bug lol." AMBUSH BUG WAS ON THE DOOM PATROL?! WHAT DID I MISS?! *Clears throat* Ahem. Sorry. In any case, WHY THE (INSERT CHOICE EXPLETIVE HERE) NOT?! Come on, man! Toy Story's Twitch, the Galaxy Squad whoshewhatsits and the new Killer Moth mask, give you no excuse to at least not try to make Ambush Bug! Especially because Argh!Yle! can be done with the sock tile, and that must be, hands down, the easiest purist superhero custom ever. Whatever you decide to build, I'm sure it'll look amazing. I look forward to seeing it either here or on Flickr, whichever comes first. Happy building! - The Big Red Cheese A bit out of the ordinary, but nice job! :D I'd like to see some pictures of that, if you can. It sounds interesting. -

As would I! I don't think that any "appropriate head" really exists for Kaecilius. I could be wrong, mind you, but if there were, it'd be nothing like anything that I've seen before. I agree though. If anyone has the parts, provide pictures, please and thank you. :) -

You're very welcome, and I'm glad you enjoy them! :D You're welcome scoiltreasa! :D Please do. I don't have most of the parts to make him, and I'd love to at least see a picture. -

I saw a really, really good design for Robotman here on this thread, which I think accurately captures his image, and as for Mento, I'm not really as familiar with him as I am with some of the other members, and I can't seem to nail him down to one design based on a Google search, but if there's a specific version you'd like to work on, I think I could at least definitely bounce some ideas around, if not actually make a full-on figure. :) MCU Wong seems to be very maroon and purple, at least based on this poster. I picked out a head, some torsos, a pair of arms, and one pair of legs that I think would match MCU Wong, but I'd recommend going through Bricklink's dark red and dark purple item searcher(s), and check in dark red under the "Minifig,Torso" and "Minifig, Torso Assembly" categories and in dark purple under the "Thumbnail Gallery" until you find something else you might like. :) Torso number one (my personal favorite) Torso number two Torso number three Torso number four Arms Head Legs The head and legs are the least usable parts I gave you in my opinion; I just threw them in there because I thought they could possibly work. In any case, best of luck and happy building! - The Big Red Cheese EDIT: Inspired by scoiltreasa and Skier1215's discussion about an MCU version of Wong from Dr. Strange, I began to make the comic version, because as Skier1215 put it:" Wong? Well...he's more difficult." Thankfully, the comics version is easier than the movie version. Well, without further ado, here's my comics style Wong: Head, torso, arms, hands, and legs. -

Absolutely jaw-dropping Terra, (I'm downright jealous! :O ) and a simple, but still mindblowing Cass. Keep up the awesome work! :D That Mr. Freeze is really nice, what with the blue boots and hands, plain armor, simple gun and face and the giant helmet. Bane is interesting because of the strangely cool mix of movies and comics what with the boots and face from the comics, and the torso of the movie. :) Scarecrow is scary as hell (it's something about that gosh-darn breather filter and the giant hat together that really pushes him over the edge), and looks beautiful. Two-Face looks really spiffy, especially with that new hair (it just screams Harvey Dent) and the addition of a lavender hand to correspond with his facial scars. Nice job! Finally, we have Killer Moth, who I'm not really sure about, as I want to see what his mask would look like over the Hydra head, but what where the mask's eye-holes and the heads lens goggles are, it looks like it's going to come out great. On another note, his suit and orange hands add a whole nother layer to the costume that wasn't there before. Great, great job. Unfortunately, I'm only really familiar with classic Wally, but the rest look amazing as well! I noticed that the arms on Johnny, Rebirth Wally, and Kid Flash are all really nice usage for those parts. They really make the figures pop, if you will. Keep up the awesome minifigures! :D -

Excellent! I love your use of the arrow-tool thing he carries! Most people sadly forget that. Nice job! :) Nice! NPU on the Nova Corps uniform. I didn't think that thing was useful for much else. +1 for using superhero parts to make more superheroes! :) Plus, you're the first person I've seen to ever even both with the gold hip piece. Great work, keep up the great work, and welcome to Eurobricks! Happy building! - The Big Red Cheese No, I don't think so. Come to think of it, there is a severe lack of Doom Patrol love around here. If I had one, I'd make her myself, but I don't, so I can't. :( Love the suggestion, though! :D -

I'm really not familiar with most of the Spider-Verse characters as I'm more of a DC guy myself. They look amazing, though. Tombstone looks great, but his hair is kind of odd. I'd recommend this one instead. :) Mysterio looks really good, especially given that he's purist! :D All he needs now is his "fishbowl" helm, and he'll be ready to go. Chameleon looks beautiful, especially given that he chose to impersonate JJJ. :P Nice use of the Mandarin head on Hammerhead. It really makes his forehead pop. +1 for using superheroes parts to make more superheroes. :) Electro must be my favorite out of this bunch! That face really captures him, as do the bright green boots and gloves. Nice job! I hope we get an apropos mask sooner rather than later! :( Keep up the great work, and happy building! - The Big Red Cheese Grim Reaper: Nice job! I think he could benefit from the cybernetic arm and claw hand TLG put out, but he still looks great. Viper: An Interesting take on her to be sure, and nice usage of the green vine whip! :) more modern take on Taskmaster: Nice mods! :D somewhat comic-ish Loki with the Casket of Ancient Winters: I know you wrote "comic-ish", but isn't that the Avengers movie Loki figure? In any case, nice job on the mini-fig scale Casket of Ancient Winters. Ulysseus Klaue with his robotic arm/sound: I really am divided here. I can't decide whether I like it or not. :\ I do think that like the Grim Reaper, Klaue could benefit from the cybernetic arm and claw hand. :) Just curious, is he based on the Andy Serkis/Avengers: Age of Ultron movie version of Klaue? Whiplash: Pretty cool take on the character . . . Amazing Spiderman 2-ish inspired Scorpion & Vulture: Nice use of the movie's darker color scheme. I like these guys. :) Upgraded Hydra Agent: Definitely a nice touch, what with all the purple and gold. These Hydra soldiers should have been in the movie. :D comic-inspired Mandarin: Very, very nice, but I think he could do with a wee bit of green. In any case, keep up the great work! - The Big Red Cheese Purist Goodies: Rick Flag: An interesting take on the character, especially given that I'm used to the classic comics one. :) Red Arrow/Speedy/Arsenal: Nice use of the Lone Ranger Head, especially coupled with Star-Lord's torso. Detective Harvey Bullock: I'm not a big fan of yellow, but the blue shirt and tan pants were definitely the right choice. :) Purist Baddies: Firefly: Wow. Just wow. Absolutely brilliant use of that Alpha Team torso, not to mention it coupling with those axe-wings, Hydra head, classic helm, breather mask and custom flamethrower? I'm speechless. Black Mask: Nice combos with that Indy suit and Fantasy Skull. Atomic Skull: Nice touch, "completing" the Hydra Agent's legs to match the suit. That head works very well too. Slipknot: +1 for making him a P.O.C. instead of defaulting over to the usual white heads. Plus, the black "spider-web" bit and rope really seal the deal, as do the beautiful hair and torso. All in all, an amazing bunch! Can't wait to see what you churn out next! Happy building! - The Big Red Cheese -

HyperOnion, Any one of these hairs, Wonder Woman's head, and the CMF fencer's torso and legs all seem like they'd work for what you're looking for. I'd also recommend checking out the white torsos page, and the white legs page if you want to peek around for yourself and see what works and what doesn't. Some other helpful suggestions are the legs from the Flame Troopers from Star Wars: Episode 7: The Force Awakens movie, and this dragon jumpsuit, because you mentioned some "Daughters of the Dragon" thing, so I thought that might be useful. Also, just as a helpful tip, I have hyperlinks to the parts in Biggus_Brickus' suggestion. Hair - April O'Neil from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movieHead - Chell from the Portal video gameTorso - The Flame Troopers' from Star Wars: Episode 7: The Force Awakens movie/Speed Racer's JumpsuitLegs - AD-DP Pilot Nice job as always. :D Jay looks great, Dr. Fate is amazing! ( ), Electrocutioner's looking pretty sweet, but as for Vandal Savage, well, I'm more used to the pointed beard and slicked back hair overcoat wearing megalomaniacal version, so the best I can say is that he looks great for what he is, but he's really not what I'm used to. As for Electrocutioner's masked head, there are only two that I can really recommend: First, the head from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie's Foot Soldiers, and second, the Mighty Micros Catwoman head. :) Happy building! - The Big Red Cheese I was literally in the middle of writing this post when Duncan Young beat me to the punch with his reply, so . . . yeah. As he said, the legs are from the new BVS Superman, and the helmet is from the miners in the City construction line, with the light connection point facing backwards. Hope the hyperlinks are useful. :) -

I'm not sure if the colors match, but from the images I've seen, Slade's boots look like they'd mix very well on the new "Scu-Bat" figure coming in the new TLBM Batcave set. -

Yes. If you prefer yellows over fleshies, use the CMF 16 Jewel Thief's head, as it's the most feminine. If you prefer fleshies over yellows, the question then becomes black or purple. If you prefer black, there are a ton of masks for you to try out. Personally, I'd recommend the Disney CMF Mr. Incredible's head, because it looks the most "childish", but if you want to look at any of the other choices, search Bricklink for the phrase "eye mask". If you prefer purple, I'd recommend any of The Riddler's heads. Happy building and hunting! - The Big Red Cheese Thankfully for LegoKuBRICK, Hit Girl wears a domino mask. :) You're right though, it's a darn shame that all we really have are those four. :( -

21306: The Beatles Yellow Submarine (LEGO Ideas)
TheBigRedCheese replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Licensed
Sorry to burst that bubble, but given that A) it's an Ideas set and not actually designed by Lego/TLG, B) the pics and video that are already out there depict them as being fleshy, C) the "rule of thumb" (thus far, at least) is that far licensed themes are fleshy, and D) the other the "rule of thumb" (again, thus far, at least) is that Lego Ideas sets don't get "encores"*, my money's on the fact that John, Paul, Ringo, and George are fleshy. The good news is that you can substitute in your own yellowy heads for them once the official set comes out. The way I see it, you're especially in luck because John's shirt is the only one that has any flesh marks on it, and thus, they all can look just as good yellowy as they do fleshy! Except for John, who officially has a penchant for tan undershirts, of course. :P *To all of you who try to exempt 'D' by mentioning the Ghostbusters: They're the exception, not the rule. -

Bo "Bibbo" Bibbowski: Hat: Preferably Donald Duck's but that doesn't stay on regular heads. :( The next best option is the standard police hat. Head: The semistandard clone one. Torso assembly: Farmer/TMNT Victor's torso and Donald Duck's arms with "light flesh" hands. If you want to make him with his Superman costume, use the upcoming Goonie's Superman torso instead. :) Legs: Light bluish grey. :) -
I imagine you're done with Stranger in a Strange Land now, and you may be onto something else, but if you enjoyed Heinlen, I'd highly, highly, recommend reading his short story All You Zombies.

Nice 2nd Riddler Goon! Prometheus is looking good, too. Had to Google TESCO, as those don't exist where I'm from. Totally jealous now, as I've always been a bit of an Anglophile, but I live across the pond, so . . . KGBeast is looking great! I really like the head you chose for when he's not wearing the mask. :) The gun-arm looks good, but the color scheme is a bit off. Sadly they don't make the hand grip thing in the right colors to match the rest of the gear. :'( I think that using bigger bricks and attaching them to something he can hold might work. :D Black Spider's looking a bit like Pharrell with that hat, but I do like the Beast Boy legs. :) Your Meister's staff is a nice little build, but I really think you should try those 'radar' discs if you have them. :) Wow! I've always been opposed to the navy-maroon combos that people have used instead of the proper blue-red combination for Atom, but those maroon Iron Man legs still kill it! Nice work. Just curious, what torso is that, and is it the same blue (or very close) to the blue color on the arms? -

Dr. Doom: All in all, he looks pretty good. In the meantime, he can pass off as a Doombot. :P Agent 13: Once again, looking good, but the head is a bit angry, and her torso clashes heavily with both her arms and pants. Shocker: I've never seen Shocker done up quite that way before. Very nice indeed. Mandarin: Looks pretty good, save for the neck thing. Mysterio: His color scheme is usually much much brighter, but I do like your take on him. :) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Atom: Pretty nice, especially for a random assemblage . . . He's generally brighter shades of blue and red, though. Metallo: Really nice build. Not clunky, very solid and pleasant looking. :) Wonder Woman: I think Sting (that sword) is a wee-bit short for Wonder Woman, but to each his own. In terms of shields, try using one of these. They're a bit more thematically apropos for Wonder Woman. Alfred: Nice choice of clothes, and +1 for painting that hair! I had to do a double take before I realized. :) Arkham Knight: Looking pretty good! The torso could use some work, if you do end up keeping it together. I agree wholeheartedly with the use of that head for Rag-Man and the Arrowverse Prometheus'! It could also work very well for a Nolan-verse Scarecrow. :) These guys are looking great, and I can't wait to see those pictures! :D As for the staff, I'd suggest using either three light bluish grey 2 x 2 inverted dishes or three light bluish grey open-hole "studs" onto either a light bluish grey 6.6L stop ring bar (for a longer staff), or a light bluish grey 4L non-stop ring bar (for a shorter staff). However you end up doing it, I'm sure it'll look awesome! :D Presuming that you're talking about the Batman Beyond post: I'd love to see your design! :) That Squirrel Girl design is pretty nice! :D Please post Coulson anyway! I love to see how people make him. :) I believe that your "stupidly simple idea" for Mark 2 has already been done on this thread already, if I'm not mistaken. -

Wow! That was fast! :) KGB Beast looks amazing this way too, but I re-read my comment and realized it was unclear. I actually meant Mile Morales Spidey's HEAD. Whoops! My bad! Leave the S.H.I.E.L.D. torso and try Morales' HEAD. :P Music Meister is on point! Now he just needs his staff! :D Black Spider doesn't clash with Deathstroke as much now, and I think the new combos would work great with the Beast Boy boots! -

WOAH! Riddler Goon looks amazing, and +1 for racial diversity, too! Holy mother of God. Music Meister is absolutely amazing! I can't help but wonder what the dark purple fedora would look like on him, though . . . I really like how you mixed the Joker and Doctor Who parts. :D Anarky is awesome! KGBeast looks great too! I feel so bad, it makes me want navy sleeves and a proper head so bad! Also, I'd have to recommend trying some new torso combos. The S.H.I.E.L.D. logo is just too prominent, unfortunately. :( Try Miles Morales Spidey. I love and appreciate what you're trying to do, but that Black Spider clashes with Deathstroke. :( We'll have to wait for purple and orange boots. :P Otherwise, use the Black/Purple Needham design. All in all, an awesome, awesome, bunch! Happy building! - The Big Red Cheese -

You're very welcome! That Captain Atom sounds really nice, but unfortunately, I don't have the Ninjago parts either! :( Thanks for clarifying. I can kind of imagine that, but don't Venom's teeth stick out under the cowl? That kind of ruins the image, for me, anyway. Maybe I'm misremembering or something. Do you have the parts to post a picture? If not, can someone with these parts please post a picture of this design? Thanks! :D Sounds awesome! Not the part about USPS, but the rest of it. :) I'd go for Black Mask and Slipknot, and just give Firefly his own post. :) It might be one of those "lost in translation" kind of things. From the pics I've seen, this sounds like a cool idea! :) That sounds nice too! :) On the TLBM purism note: The purple boxing gloves on the Boxing Batman could work in part for a purist Wildcat. Plus, nonspecifically, the new bow-tie, ascot, top-hat, suit-jackets (PLURAL! :O), umbrella, FLESHIE comb-over and specialized Bat-suits all have many, many, many uses EACH! I CAN'T WAIT! :D -

When you say "Batman of the future", what exactly do you mean? There are many, many, many future iterations of Batman. If you mean Batman Beyond, (the most popular/common version) can you elaborate, please? I had that exact same idea to use the scimitar swordsman's legs for Ubu! Congrats on having beat me to the punch. He looks awesome! :O I've seen similar combos for Firefly before, but I love what you did with continuing the grey bits and then using the newish Bat-boots. Nice use of the Twelfth Doctor's coat for The Question as well. I've never seen the Mad Scientist's legs for Zantanna before! Absolutely brilliant usage! :O Nice conflation of the Wildlife Photographer and the classic Captain America head, but I'm wondering: Why the hood? It looks cool and all, but just, why? Great job across the board, and I can't wait to see more of your work! :D - The Big Red Cheese -

No, that hair is definitely correct. Just for the record, I did not actually choose any of those pieces myself. I merely cleaned up another poster's post, which had only part numbers, not links, at their request. Now, the reason OP chose that hair is because of the fact that it matches the design of the Joker's hair in the OP's choice of source material, namely, Batman: The Animated Series. In those depictions, Joker's hair is actually more black than green, and merely has green tinges on the edge, which is why the OP chose a black hair instead of a green one. As for whether or not The Lego Batman Movie Joker's parts are useful for making the Joker as he appeared on The Batman, that sounds like a good idea, but I'd like to wait until the sets are released and better pictures are available. - The Big Red Cheese
