"I hope so, though the less said about 'Gibbin' the better." "Your fur is... uh," Hoptet turns to Thothwick, for help with translation. "[Non-existent]!" "Thinning."
-
Whoops! Thanks for reminding me, I really need a separate sheet for who Hoptet's met. And Hoptet is referring to Nyx when he says the one with 'black 'fur'. As Metasimians don't so much have hair as they do fur, I can't imagine Thothwick would've taught the word hair to Hoptet, so Hoptet has views the word 'fur' as a generic Humanish term for hair/fur/manes/etc.

Thothwick sips a small sherry, whilst Hoptet gulps his mead. "Ah... that hits the spot!" "Mr. Rone? Uh, please, take a seat. What appears to be the matter?" "Ah, Mr. Holla, too. I am popular! Alas, I've no idea. I was away on another Quest, Hoptet was one of the Heroes not picked to go, but Byblos was. Oh, Mr. Rone, I don't believe you've had the pleasure, please, may I introduce Hoptet." "Hello Rone! Byblos go off on his Quest. Witch and Ranger Docken go with him, as did Nix, and another magic user, with red fur." "So, Mr. Holla, as you can see, my cousin is trapped with mixed company."

"Why on Olegia are you still here? Your Quest can't of finished already - I've only been gone two days!" "I was not the taking for Quest note, a worser news: The Witch was!" "Oh, don't talk to me about Witches... I've just got back from 48 hours with Atramor's apprentice. Couple that with feuding businessmen, sword manic alchemists and -" Thothwick takes off his boots, sighing with relief as he did "- blisters, and it makes for a semi-decent excuse for a beverage. To the saloon!"

There's a Sapphire in the offing for anyone who can stomach a conversation of unknown length with Thothwick.

You have my permission to use Atramor and Karie.

Heroica RPG - Quest Masters' Lounge
Professor Flitwick replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Ah, this alone probably added at least an extra week to the Quest length! Sorry if my participation seemed lax in this Quest, but being several hours behind (or ahead, or whatever, timezones) left me unable to join in on a few conversations, so I hope I wasn't a hamper to the Quest. I really enjoyed this Quest, I think I prefer these slightly shorter Quests. I'm glad I got some Shadeuax rep, and I hope I was able to stay relatively in character in my attempt to get it! I'm hard pressed to pick a favourite part of the Quest. The Tavern provided some fun interactions; it was nice seeing Ella again, and I hope she recognised Thothwick (I didn't think it wise to noisily greet an Empress in a tavern full of potentially dangerous people ). I also enjoyed avoiding the battle, and being rewarded with experience for using diplomacy is something I really hope to see in other Quests. The journey to the Inn also provided some great interactions, as did the debate at the end, with parts of Quests being dedicated solely to role playing is something else that needs to appear more often. For a while, I did think Karie might be able to befriend Thothwick, but she managed to prevent that quite well! I also find it funny that two Wren questers developed a sort of 'Old Boys Club', and I thought it was great that it unintentionally led to Karie feeling left out of the loop. Now for a Sandy quest, so I can continue my Zepher Quest/Sandy Quest/Zepher Quest/Sandy Quest chain! -
Heroica RPG - Quest #84: Bad Blood

Thothwick put on a dry tone, another attribute he gained after an extended time spent near Atramor. "I should. If only there was someone nearby whose healing skills were worth a damn." -

"I'll second that. " "*cough* I don't believe any has, uh - dibbed? - any of these items. The only item of any real use or interest to me is the Travellers Cloak; one can never have too many! *cough, cough* If I be so bold as to outright ask, may I also use the Hinckwell Spear? If only until we get back to the Hall; I shall need something to lean on. Take the rest, sell what you can't use. I wouldn't give her the time of day, let alone any of our spoils." -

Thothwick rose to his feet, wheezing slightly. "Thh-*cough* hank - *cough, cough* Thank you, Mr. Shawe. *cough* Goodness, gracious *cough* that last hit knocked the wind out of me! I would gladly take an Ice and Darkness bomb, please! *cough* Where has that brigand Bors gotten to? Last I saw he was barely conscious, how on Olegia could he have scarpered so quickly?" -
So... instead of having him go on a level-neutral quest, Cyros'll have to wait until there are enough new players to warrant a low level exclusive quest? Another Quest 83 type quest seems much better alternative.

"Would you prefer to have hundreds die in Skirmishes with betwixt the Hinckwells, Shadeuax and the Guild of Invision? Four fools seems like quite a decent compromise." "Pfft. Call yourself a hero, you worthless Witch? Going to flee into the wild? Bah!" Thothwick goes to attack Sir Grady the Bold with his Shuriken from the back row! "Mr. Shawe, care to spare your fighters?" -
Heroica RPG - Quest #84: Bad Blood
Professor Flitwick replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Silence your tongue you ignorant Witch! You know nothing of how the houses work. How on Olegia will the news of the Shadeuax get out? The Blood Paws won't tell, their purses have now been filled by Shadeuax, with the prospect of more coin in the future, they won't lose a rich customer. The Hinckwells won't tell, as I've previously stated in pain-staking detail, for the Shadeuax will just take retribution by telling the Guild about Bors. I'll say it again! Scenario one: Shadeuax get bombs, they sell bombs, Guild of Invision none the wiser, Hinckwells/Shadeuax never mention Blood Paws/Bors for fear of the Shadeuax/Hinckwells will mention the Bors/Bloodbows. Scenario two: Hinckwells get the bombs, the Guild want to know why the deal has changed with their consent, Hinckwells tell all, Shadeuax tell all, three-way-war, with at least two of the sides angry with us." "Experience? Bah! Don't make me laugh! Do you know what my title is in Heroica? 'Thothwick, a Hero who is worth something'. I helped saved Dastan from plunging itself into a civil war! I helped delve beneath Eubric, and clear a temple of Zoot of a giant Demon! Later, Mr. Rone, myself and a group of others returned there to defeated a woman reaching the early stages of divinity! Do not speak to me of experience, witch. You're worried of damaging your reputation? I'm sure the three people who've heard of you will be most surprised. 'What [i'm] doing?' I wish I could say the same for you, I can't fathom your actions. Also, the collective noun for one hero isn't a 'group'." "Come, Mr. Rone, you said earlier in our debate that you believe these belong to Mr. Shawe, and the Shadeuax. Surely you can see how letting the Hinckwells walk away with those bombs can only lead to trouble." -
Heroica RPG - Quest #84: Bad Blood
Professor Flitwick replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Oh please Karie, you must be at least two decades old. If you only found out the world isn't perfect through your first Quest, you must have lived a life of luxury before coming here. The four Hinckwell men can be calmed down, but even if they do decide to fight us, it is nothing to be compared with the amount of people that will die when the full might of the Guild of Invision, the Hinckwells and the Shadeaux wage against eachother in the streets of Eubric, should the Hinckwells walk away with the bombs. Dyric, surely you see my point of view here." -

Heroica RPG - Quest #84: Bad Blood
Professor Flitwick replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"But they just plain wouldn't. If we tell the Guild of the Blood Paws, the Shadeaux will tell the Guild of Hinckwell and Bors! The Guild need only find out about this if the Hinckwells get those bombs, as they'll need to know why the deal changed! If the Shadeuax get those bombs, everything remains quiet, all the houses save some face, and everyone lives, Karie. Just this onces, everybody lives!" -
Heroica RPG - Quest #84: Bad Blood
Professor Flitwick replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"But he can just as easily point our the Hinckwells allegiance with Bors, and brandish them as thieves wanting to obtain the Guilds property without paying for it. Neither the Hinckwells nor Shadeuax will tell the Guild about what the Shadeuax/Hinckwells have been doing, for the the Shadeuax/Hinckwells will in retaliation tell the Guild what acts the Hinckwells/Shadeuax have been perpetrated. Diplomacy is not something the ruling families are renowned for. Give the Hinckwells the bombs and the Guild will demand to know why their deal has been changed. Airing everyone's dirty language in front of the Guild will solve no problems. All it will do is lead to further bloodshed. If the Shadeuax walk away with the bombs, the Hinckwells will be forced to keep quiet for fear of the Guild finding out about Bors, and both they and the Shadeuax will save a little face, and the Guild will be none the wiser, and more importantly, none the deadlier." -
Heroica RPG - Quest #84: Bad Blood
Professor Flitwick replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
Thothwick ignored Karie, and her glaring, a trick he had picked up from prolonged exposure to Atramor. "Yes, there's been a fair bit of trickery on both sides, there is no debating that." "The Guild are expecting to do business with the Shadeuax, and have finalised and paid for said transaction. I'd rather keep two houses happy, as opposed to one. As you said, it is out duty as Heroes to keep the peace between the families as much as possible. Disrupting their respective deals is not a good way to go about it. Telling the Guild about the Blood Paws would incite Mr. Shawe to inform them that Mr. Hinckwell hired Bors and his mean to murder and steal his way into a position in which he would be able to seize both Shadeuax and Guild property. It would ignite a three way war on the Streets of Eubric. I shouldn't like to think of running into the brute with the large weapon we met last night in a dark alleyway. I shall reaffirm my position, the bombs belong to the Shadeuax, the lesser of the two evils at play here." -
Heroica RPG - Quest #84: Bad Blood
Professor Flitwick replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Patronised by a Witch. Oh what a grand turn my life has taken." "Ah. Of course." OoC: I never envisioned the bombs as being lit before detonation. I always imagined them as being like the prophecies at the end of OotP, and once smashed, would unleash their elemental fury upon an enemy. Silly me! "Whilst they both seem as bad as eachother, the Guild of Invision seemed to have sided with the Shadeaux. Business is business, and I wouldn't want to interfere with theirs. If there is anyone I wouldn't want against me, it would be the alchemists. As far as I'm concerned, the bombs are theirs." -

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Professor Flitwick replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Take a look around the other parts of the site, these discussion have been going on for a while. And in all my years hear, I have never seen a confirmation of another wave of theme 'x' before the leaks for said theme start coming. Gandalf Arrives was hardly action pack. Riddles in the Dark was just that - two people playing a game of riddles in the dark. Galadriel's set is on a par - if not more - exciting as those two. However, I agree it's odd that the Lothlorian Forest from the game is the only one not turned into a set. I've actually thought this has been a while coming, though I envisioned a small set, with just Boromir, Lurtz, and a small piece of the ruins. It would give kids a cheap and easy way to get both the figures, considering Boromir was only in an expensive set, and Lurtz was in a set that was (correct me if I'm wrong) exclusive to somewhere. Previous waves do not dictate what will and won't be in a later wave. Would that it were; I could've gotten a larger last Harry Potter wave. Never got my Agent Coulson fig, doesn't make the next batch of sets any more or less likely to be built around them. Same goes for Dutchess Satine, Professor Slughorn, Talia al Ghul and the Balrog. Also, the Ent is practically Treebeard. This is the one point of yours I agree with, and the only major thing thats keeping me from believing the list. And Jabba's Palace in a B'omarr monk's temple turned into crime safehouse, run by a giant sentient Slug, on a planet covered only in sand, that orbits two suns. People managed to find religious symmetry in that, they'll find it in a fiery demon looking thing fighting a man in a beard.
