  1. Hi Superkalle Found a minor error in a brick number: I have to write BLItemID=4449a to get 4459 (short connectorpeg with friction ridges lenthwise) in LDD. BTW: No need to bother (I think) about getting the correct number of copies of each brick in a generated lxf-file: Often the bricks have to be orientated properly, and so I use the clone-tool to copy bricks that already has the proper orientation. Keep up the good work! LDDTechnician.
  2. Hi Zeya Im not sure if this is your problem, but here it goes: To put bricks on flat tiles you build some support and then delete it when the brick is in place. In this set you but a 1x6 plate on the two round 1x1 plates connecting them and then place your 1x4 brick UNDER that and then delete the 1x6 plate. Hope that helps you. LDDTechnician
  3. Thanks for bringing me up to date on brick-numbering! I used the "generate lxf-file" to build a technic bumper. Very usefull! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41226&view=findpost&p=LDDTechnician Thanks again - LDDTechnician
  4. 8451 Dumper - Technic lxf: http://cid-18c5ff9fba7a1cbd.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/8451%20technic%20bumper/8451.lxf Much to my surprise no changes from the original in this model. Thanks to Superkalle for the LDD manager that quickly finds bricks from inventories! LDDTechnician
  5. Hey Superkalle! Just installed your program. Looks great! Im trying to build The 8052 Technic container Truck model ind LDD and I would like to check my colors. I go to lego.com>PAB and double-click on a brick and it shows a picture of the brick and the brick-ID in the internet-adress of the picture. (the first brick in the list for this particular model is a flat plate 1x4 and has the adress http://us.service.lego.com/en-US/replacementparts/showBrick.aspx?item=4211356&lod=5&size=2 SO the brick ID is 4211356) Can LDD-manager help me translate this LEGO brick-ID to a LDD color? Can I use brick-link? Looking foreward to using your program a lot more! LDDTechnician ADDED a little later: WOW! I found the inventory at Bricklink and found (using the color-matching sceme in LDD-manager) that (as an example) Dark Bluish Gray Technic, Axle 4 with Stop has the LDD color named "Medium Stone Grey" This pretty much solves my problem! 6. Im currently working on 8052 Technic Container Truck. I dont have a lot of time right now ...
  7. I prefer functionality over looks ... but a conclusion so far might be that the important thing is to report changes to the original model as accurately as possible ... ? LDDTechnician
  8. Hello! My special interest is making official lego sets from the Thecnic theme in LDD - but I post it here because it may concern other themes as well: Should changes from original models LOOK like the original as much af possible, or should they WORK in real life as much as possible? cheers! LDDTechnician
  9. Silly me! Theres a link from the "Official sets .." topic! Darn!
  10. I totally agree! Great and FAST work - and creative alternatives to missing bricks!
  11. Hi! Im looking for a topic I remember but cant find. It contained some creative home-made bricks that I need for my 8263 Snowgroomer project. I tried the search facility. Thanks! LDDTechnician
  12. WIP 8263 Technic Snowgroomer Wonder if it is possible at all? CU! LDDTechnician
  13. PS: good work, the set is well realized, technic ones are often a bit difficult.
  14. 856 - Front loader - Theme: Technic Changes: The tracks, rear handles and crown-wheels are changed but the rest is like the original. File: Here is the lxf file Comments on the building proces: The loader is build one side at a time to ensure hinging The hinge tool is used to ensure symmetric tracks to actually fit together The upper rear corner is not 90 degrees See you! LDDT
  15. "For LDD model I had quite some problems. The wheel geometry was quite hard to build (poor hing tool), the rims wouldnt fit in the tyres (they fit in real life, but they arent made for each other) and because normal pins wouldnt fit in pulley wheels I had to use cross pins." Great and very well-documented work in LDD! My work on the 856 Technic bulldozer is still in progress - and I agree that the hinge-tool is poor! LDDT
  16. Will be looking foreward to that!
  17. WIP: 856 Excavator Technic (hinges from hell ;-)
  18. 850 Technic Fork lift There are several changes: Old technic bricks replaced with new ones alvailable in LDD: - The wheels - Crown wheel Z24 - steering wheel - wheel for lifting the fork Changes due to illeagal alignment in the original model: - the "fork-tower" is lifted to fix horizontal alignment of cross-axels with tower. (thanks to DLuders). - the fork is changed a little to fix tower/fork alignment. The changes and the placing of the fork INSIDE the tower shown here and the lxf is here. LDDTechnician
  19. thanks for this quick response! ... this is my tenth post so maybe now I can upload my lfx files to the Model index..
  20. hi there Here is another old technic model: http://cid-18c5ff9fba7a1cbd.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/851%20technic%20tractor.lxf but as you can see the wheels fit poorly. any ideas? LDDTechnician
  21. Looks great! This is my first LDD update, so I have no idea what to hope for. 1) is there any roumors about when it will be released? 2) is there maybe new (technic!!) bricks in the 4.0 version?
  22. LDD closely enforces "Legal Build" techniques. If things are not aligned EXACTLY, LDD won't let them connect, mesh together, etc. There is no "slop" allowed in LDD to slightly tilt the forklift's Technic Beams to make them fit. Whereas one could FORCE real bricks to align, LDD won't let you. This is one reason that you see SO FEW official Lego Technic sets modeled in LDD. To me this is exactly the puzzle and therefore the fun of technics in LDD :-)
  23. Thanks for your quick responses to my request on making movies. I think I will leave the cool film-making to others. I hope to live up to at least some of my username with the model you can see in the post you referred to: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45807&view=findpost&p=800851&hl=&fromsearch=1 LDDTechnician
