LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I'd say it's a bit early to tell if I want an Acolyte wave since we haven't seen any episodes yet, but who knows? The trailer did nothing for me sadly. -

Maybe a bit offtopic but I don't particularly care for you people implying that the original Biggs figure from 1999 is anything less than perfect -

My thoughts exactly. Also, that's a really fun idea about an imperial base subline. Like all those different pieces of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter subtheme. I'm really curious about that set. It's bound to be something with several rooms/compartments, I can't see it being just one room because otherwise it would have been named something like 'Death Star hangar' instead of playset. -

I'm not sure what to think about things like Dark Millennium Falcon or Jedi Bob's Starfighter but I'm always thrilled about outside the box set choices for LSW. As long as it's alongside more regular sets of course. But that seems to be in order, some of those sets sound really interesting. I'm also like 25 years overdue on getting myself a Sith Infiltrator. -

I don't think the ST can be compared with the PT in terms of, let's say, delayed popularity, and I'm not saying that because I despise the ST movies. I don't know how long we'll have to wait before ST fans will be forced to admit that but well. In 2015 five system scale TPM sets got released, so maybe if we get the same amount of system scale TFA sets in 2031, I'd be willing to reevaluate my assessment. That being said, the ST did have some (really) cool designs so I wouldn't mind more sets from those movies. If only to make the dozens of ST fans happy Anyway, to stay on (or get back to the) topic, I'm getting kind of impatient about seeing those March sets. I'm also curious about the second polybag, fingers crossed for a tiny little SW set with a minifig for a change. -
I had to add the 75359 Ahsoka clone BP to my collection.

So 501st troopers again. Accurate to the scene, but having built the three 501st battle packs over the past few weeks I can't say I'm excited about them. Naboo guards would have been way more interesting. -

I wholeheartedly agree. I won't say that I'm annoyed by the constant complaining about for instance prints on clone trooper helmets not being 100 percent like on screen, but to me it's a complete non-issue. It's lego, a toy first and foremost, and I would even be more than happy if they toned down the detail on minifigs. -

I can't say I'm too impressed by that speeder bike in the super battle pack, should have been bigger to hit that nostalgia factor for the very first battle packs. Still as others have said, the set as a whole represents some great value for that price. As for the SBDs, ever since mine from an advent calendar broke and I learned about the general issues with them, I haven't been able to muster the courage to touch the others I have. So if these are more durable I'm more than happy. -

Concerning that third anniversary figure, the fact that after that many guesses still nobody guessed correctly does not bode well for its desirability. -
As someone who was introduced to Star Wars through Lego back in 1999 I can't say that it's fading in any way. Sure I was a kid back then and now I have a wife and kids who all seem to love my hobby or at least the fact that I love it, but there's always been something each year that gets my interest. To me, the most important kind of sets are still playsets because that's where it all started for me. And just think about it, those first few Star Wars waves were pretty small (this year I finally got 7130 to complete that sweet first OT wave!) and there was hardly any variation. That only changed with the first UCS sets and a few Technic sets. But as the years progressed the theme diversified with things like battle packs and microfighters (still/again going strong), gimmick sets that came and went (planets and mechs, fingers crossed) and now there are things like diorama's, helmets and hopefully a continuing resurgence of the midi scale sets. So there's bound to be a good chunk of the sets each year that don't interest you. I could do without the UCS sets, diorama's and helmets, but there's still plenty (or at least some) to enjoy.

Maybe I missed something, but I thought there was a big Skeleton Crew set planned for a January release? Also, I usually love polybags so that one counts as a full set to me -

All of the three sets announced today sound like I'd be interested (not counting the mech). I love the fact that they're all below the 50 euros price range. Even though I'm able to buy bigger sets as an adult there's still an irresistable charm to small lego sets IMO. -

If you don't insult people within the fandom regularly, can you truly be a Star Wars fan? -
Not exactly what you call a recent purchase but rather a little surprise from the past: I'm at my mom's at the moment and was going through some old stuff, when I found 7119 Cloud Car in sealed box. The box is pretty indented unfortunately, if I didn't own three of it already (yeah I loved and still love that set) I would have opened it for myself. Also found some other old and tiny MISB sets.

Yikes, looks I'll have to go bargain hunting for that E-wing set. And Chewbacca... I don't know what I expected but at least I got a good laugh. -
Looks good! Still I think the head could use improvement, but I wouldn't be able to tell you how

As a treat, those of you that don't want an X-wing will get one in a neat and different color scheme -

I don't like the looks of Shin's ship, so I would be irritated if the E-wing would only be available with that one. -

I'm very happy with how the Ghost turned out to be. The Phantom 2 looks like a fun addition, I just hope that it can also seat a regular minifig. I don't care too much about the minifigs though, but that might change if the Ahsoka series turns out to be any good. All in all, I'll buy this set but only when there's a good discount, which seems to be inevitable luckily. -

Exactly. Short Round had character and at the same time managed to not be annoying. And like you said, Willie is annoying but she is actually meant to be annoying, since in-universe characters consider her to be so. Current day Hollywood doesn't seem to know how to write its way out of a paper bag, it's beyond me that people still defend the new movie. -

I appreciate the niche-ness of the gunship and the fact that it's a bit scaled down, but that's all it has going for itself. The nose looks weird, previous versions did it better. And maybe it's a consequence of the fact that it's smaller, but lots of things seem off about it. Also, red instead of dark red? All in all it's a hard pass. I'm not THAT interested in those minifigs after all (fingers crossed for them appearing in magazines though). Now all this wouldn't be so frustrating if I already had a previous version. I hope I won't have to wait for another ten years before the next, regular one appears.
