It is over 7600 supporters now. Hopefully this will hit 10000 before the end of the year so that it can get in the next review period. I definitely think the figures are more important at this point. I would rather see Lego make all those minfigs and put them in a Minas Tirith set and then I can make my own custom Osgiliath. Osgiliath is just a bunch of castle ruins, it would be much easier to make your own Osgiliath than it would Minas Tirith.

MEC Category A: The Keep of Helm's Deep - http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102042 -
Here is my entry for the Keep of Helm's Deep. This is the recreation of the Keep at Helm's Deep from the Two Towers movie. The army of Rohan has fallen back to the keep and is preparing to make a final attack on the Uruk-hai in hopes of saving their people. Help Theoden, Aragorn and the rohan army make a final attack on the army of Isengard to save the people of Rohan. I have designed this specifically to be an expansion to the orignal Helm's Deep set. Here are the images of my creation: https://www.flickr.com/photos/128315599@N05/sets/72157649023602116/

I'm thinking UCS Minas Tirith set to please the AFOL's! As I keep hearing over and over again "The LOTR line didn't sell well because it doesn't appeal to children", so make a set for the AFOL's where the sets are selling. Obviously Tower of Orthanc sold well so they should go the UCS route with this one as well.

I think the fell beast would be smaller, but they could use a very similar design.
-
Completely agree! I don't know if Lego would approve the set via the Ideas platform. However, if it at least gets lego to look into the possibility of making any more sets that is still a win.
-
They did, but sometimes those smaller toy stores have sets like those for awhile because their turnover isn't what it is at your stores like Target and wal-mart.
-
I would have to agree wtih you there, sets like Pirate ship ambush and council of elrond would have been better sets for a third wave, after they had made some Gondor sets and maybe the Balrog.
-
Yeah, at this point it is looking unlikely unless Lego is going to surprise us... which is very rare.
-
I'm just happy because it will help increase the votes on the set. It is already over six thousand. I know that there is no guarantee that Lego will make the set just because it gets to 10000, but at least it will confirm one way or the other if a Minas Tirith set is possible. If they approve the project great! If not at least we will know that there is no chance at getting it made as a set.

True I wonder how much a staff pick actually means, however if anything it will help increase the votes for it, it is already over six thousand votes.- 298 replies

Since the topic is Minas Tirith congrats to Nuju Metru on Lego Ideas for getting the staff pick for Minas Tirith: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/36275

Yeah, I that is why everyone thought that it weird for Lego to put mouth of sauron in the set because he doesn't exist in the shortened version. So anyone who hasn't seen the extended would wonder who that even is.
-
Well this makes all the Dol Guldor sets make a little more sense. I need to watch the extended version now.
-
Wow I only have a few days left, I better hurry and finish!

If Lego makes cloud city I hope that they make it in multiple sets so that it is easier to purchase. It makes it difficult to spend $400 on a lego set so hopefully they piece it out into multiple sets.

This set is great and if you actually buy two you can make a pretty good Mines of Moria. I bought two myself and am planning on getting a gray base plate for them as well.

Considering the last couple jedi starfighters have been in the $25-30 price range, and this one is slightly bigger. I am guessing this will be a $35-40 set. Also my guess is that the hailfire droid is $25. Last winter we had 4 star wars sets at the $25 price range with 2-3 minifigs each. My guess is that the Skyhopper, AAT, Ezras Speeder and Hailfire droid will be the four to fall into that price range this year.
-
Just bought the old 7155 AAT set since the new one coming in January looks very disappointing. The old one looks fifteen times better even though it is fifteen years older.
-
I hung onto my clone lieutenant from last year thinking that this would be a figure they wouldn't remake, at least for a few years. Turns out I was wrong, why even get the "exclusive" minifigs anymore it seems like Lego makes an "exclusive minifig and then puts in a set 6 months to a year later. I am also getting sick of all these super battle droids, seems like they are in every other set now. Lego just likes to reuse old molds as many times as they can, starting to get a little annoying to be honest.
-
I think your right. Lego probably designed the eagle for the black gate and orthanc and decided to reuse the existing mold for this final wave of hobbit sets instead of spending money to make a new mold.

I completely agree with you, this Minas Tirith is the closest set we have to reaching the 10000 mark, but the main issue will be if TLG would actually produce an ideas project of this size.- 298 replies
