Yeah, I think over half the set is just going to be remakes of some of the smaller sets we have already like the wampa cave, snowspeeder, and all the echo base sets we have. Basically they remade all the hoth sets and are throwing them together in a box for $250

I am currently working on a Grond, this has been a little difficult. Since the gate to the city is fairly small I am trying to keep the Grond small so that I don't have to change the size of the set. I think I have the design right I am just trying to acquire the right pieces so that I can complete it. I am also adding a catapult to one section of the wall. Hopefully this will add enough playability to the set. I am hoping to have the updates ready in the next few weeks once I have the right pieces.

Unfortunately I like collecting Lego to much to have the cost keep me from buying new sets. However, the lack of creativity has kept me from buying new sets. Lego tends to be remaking a lot of sets that have already been made in the last five years and not a lot of new minifigs either which makes it hard to buy any of the new sets. Based on the sets we have seen so far for this year, this year will be the least I have spent on Lego since 2009 back when I was just getting into collecting. It honestly could be C-3PO, E-3PO or TC-14. They are all so similar that it really doesn't matter what lego calls the figure you can make it whoever you want it to be. The only thing that worries me with buying an advent calendar for a minifigure is that every minifigure in the advent calendars, with the exception of the santa/holiday exclusive figures, has been released in a set. I would hate to buy the advent calendar for the silver protocol droid and then have it released in another set.

I have been working on new IDEAS projects for Lord of the Rings sets. I just posted a Gate of Minas Tirith set https://ideas.lego.com/projects/130964 and am awaiting approval for a Battle of Osgiliath set, hopefully it will be out on their website late this week. I know that work still needs to be done on these sets. I went ahead and posted them on the ideas site just to see how much interest there still is. If I get some feedback on the model. I am planning on improving and re-posting an updated version later on. If you have any ideas on things I can change to make them more appealing and hopefully reach 10000 votes let me know. The Gate of Minas Tirith I am currently in the process of adding a catapult and trying to figure out how to make a small grond.

Considering the multiple Lego Ideas projects that have reached the 10,000 supporter mark I definitely think that there was and still is a demand for more LOTR sets. I think it would have satisfied the majority of Lego LOTR collectors if they would have given us Minas Tirith, Osgiliath, a mumukil, and the balrog. You could maybe throw in Amon Hen as well. They could have included the important missing minifigs such as Witch king, faramir, and Eowyn in those sets and it would have wrapped up the theme very nicely. Instead they left a lot of fans hanging and very disappointed.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video Game Discussion
Bycougars replied to npgcole's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I really hope they are re-making or issuing as dlc the complete saga. It would be nice to be able to play episodes 1-7. I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully the dlc content is something substantial and not just a few extra characters and a level. Is there any chance that Lego surprises us with DLC for the complete saga?- 201 replies

With how many large sets are already coming out in this summer wave I highly doubt there will be a rebel blockade runner in this wave. Maybe next year.
-
The Gate of Minas Tirith is my project. This is good advice and I agree there needs to be a little more to the project. I was thinking of adding a catapult to the wall and maybe a small grond.
-
I really hope that the AT-ST rumor ends up being true. I only have the one that is from the Endor bunker set 8098. It would be nice to get a new version.
-
I hope they reveal the UCS hoth set in New York. If not it will probably be mid March when Lego does their press release for the May 4th release date.
-
I don't know for sure, but from the sound of it that might be all we are getting. There was a rumored leak of a set called "Encounter on Jakku", however that set name might have come from the Resistance X-wing set. It may just be the six sets and an exclusive for this wave. The summer wave last year was only five sets so I can't imagine there will be many sets in this wave either.

I was really hoping the new 2016 sets were going to have some new characters from the PT/OT that we don't have or haven't seen in awhile. It would be nice to get a revised version of Zam Wesell(Bounty Hunter Pursuit 2002) and Dengar(UCS super star destroyer). We also have yet to see minifigures of Boss Nass, Taun We, Lama Su, Tion Medon, Bail Organa, 4-Lom & Zuckuss. Lego continues to remake minfigs, creates made up minifigs, and create minifigs with virtually no screen time, yet they are still missing figs based off characters that actually had speaking parts in the movies. Also it would be nice if Lego would stop remaking sets that just came out 2-3 years ago and make something new or re-make something that hasn't been made in 10-15 years (Jango's Slave I)
-
I think the OT and PT movies are still popular enough among children and adults that we will continue to see some of the OT/PT sets. However, I do think we will slowly start to see Lego phase out of making some of the older sets and start making more of the new stuff. As long as there are still AFOL then Lego still has a reason to not completely shy away from making OT sets.

I guess another reason I am hesitant to believe these pictures are real is because the set numbers and names don't match up with the list leaked by Just2Good who has been the most reliable source for Lego sets over the past 3-4 years.
-
Is the source that leaked these images a trusted source? It seems like there is a lot that points to these images possibly being fake. First off the quality of the images is atrocious.(I understand they are prelims and prelims are never very good, but past prelims have still been better quality than this.) Second, why did the leaker only leak five sets and not all the rumored sets? Third, the piece count on most of the boxes is 442 and the piece count on the turbo tank seems way off. Fourth, 75145 was rumored to be Anakins podracer by a reliable source it is now supposedly some weird looking red and black ship. Any one else think there is a possibility that these are fake? Also does anyone know where the blue/grey ship and the red/black ships are from? If they are from rebels I see these ships being a possibility, but it seems weird that lego would waist time making these types of sets when the Force Awakens just came out, the rebels series is currently running and there are better vehicles/scenes from the original movies that could still be made.

I am not sure why I was given any credit for Minas Tirith, I never claimed credit for it. I have only been using Nuju Metru's picture as my profile picture to show support for the project. All credit goes to Nuju Metru. Nuju Metru do you have a parts list or instructions for this set? If Lego does not accept the project at the review stage I would be interested in buying a list or instructions so I can build this set.

Lego Star Wars Rebels sets partly taking over?
Bycougars replied to James Wellington's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As of right now there are 2 episode I sets, 2 episode VI sets, and 1 rebels set being released in June of this year. The rumor is that there are going to be seven episode VII sets being released in September this year as well as six constructible minifigures based off of episodes I-VI. So as of now it looks like there will be one rebels set in future releases. I am sure we will see rebels sets scattered hear and there over the next year or so, but I think the majority will be based on the new movies. As for sets based off episodes I-VI I have a feeling that those sets will be fewer in number than they have been in recent years. -
Yeah, I don't think any hopes should be to high. We can still hope though. I do have to agree that because of license issues it may make it more difficult, but I don't think the chances of this set are impossible. Hopefully Lego will make this set, if not I will have to make a custom like I have done with other sets.
-
I have to agree wtih both of you, if a Minas Tirith set is to be made by Lego it has to have a reasonable piece count and price point. There is no way they are going to make a LOTR set anywhere over the $300 price range. atreyu2112 I am also tired of hearing about leaked lists as well as those who state the line has officially ended. Lego has never made any official announcement that the line is continuing or ending. Even if the license to make LOTR sets is expiring, there is no reason they can't extend it or get a new one. They have been able to obtain licenses for Lego Ideas projects such as BTTF, Ghostbusters, and Minecraft, so who is to say they can't get the license to make one more LOTR set. As of now no one knows what Lego is going to do regarding LOTR/Minas Tirith, I don't even think anyone at LEGO knows. At this point it is everyones speculation.

Hopefully we will get the real pics at the New York Toy Fair next saturday. I want to see what the finalized sets and minifigures look like. As of right now probably only getting the Imperial Tydirium and the Flash speeder.
-
The updates look great! Too bad the designer didn't put the updates as his main photo it probably would get a lot more support that way.
-
I'm with you. It is a little disappointing that Lego doesn't seem to be able to make new mini figs. We have to have the same ones over and over again. Probably only getting flash speeder and imperial shuttle because of ships. Mini figs used to be half the reason I bought sets, not really a factor anymore though when you have them all. I was really hoping for Boss Nass in the flash speeder.
-
Probably wont' get pics from the toy fair in London in a couple of days, but I am hoping someone atleast leaks some details about the sets and what minifigs we will be getting.
-
Out of all the minifigures that Lego hasn't made the ones with the most screen time that are left for them still to make are probably Boss Nass and Taun We. It would be nice if Lego would remake Jango's slave I as well and put a Taun We or Lamu Su figure in the set.
-
With the new flash speeder and naboo starfighter coming out this summer, I am hoping that Lego will finally make a Boss Nass minifigure. Maybe we will see one or two of these in the TPM sets coming out this summer. Ric Olie would be another good character that isn't on your list.
