Ranting time once again. First the figures. GL: God, finally! This figure...I have been looking forward to it ever since I first heard of it in the summer months. I love his face and his torso printing, they look absolutely amazing! His legs are okay, I'll just color in the sides of the legs with a black Sharpie and everything will be dandy. Add a trans green stud to one of Hal's fists and voila! The perfect Hal Jordan in my eyes! Sinestro: From a perfect figure to a disaster of one...where do I begin? His face seems scrunched up, like he smelled something bad, and his mustache doesn't look quite right. The hair piece is a horrible choice, and an unfixable one, too. I love his torso, however, but his legs...I can easily fix Hal's but the boots on Sinestro are too complicated to get right on the sides of his legs...I'll just try my best. Again, I'll add a trans yellow stud to one of his hands to make him complete. Space Batman: Totally in love with this guy. I love his details and his face. I could even use this in a DC Age of Ultron MOC where Batman builds the Batboy to fight crime better than he could, as he's getting old, but things get awry and the JLA has to save the day! Lol, I'm bad at making up stories. The only thing I want on this bad boy would be leg printing, but, hey, it's all good. Construct: Pretty neutral on this one. The construct itself looks sleek and stylish, I just wish that it was made entirely of trans green bricks. Sinister Corps Tube: Okay, I guess? It doesn't really need that much detail, and the lantern looks alright...overall, I give this set an 8.5 out of 10. I'll have to see it in person to make a final judgement, though. Edit: This Vader guy said he got the sets from TLG....um, how?!

They're really not that expensive.
-
Doubt it.

I really hope that the sets are out soon, as looking at these pictures make me want the sets SO much more.

You don't get it because you don't get others' preferences. That's your opinion, not everyone else's.

Time to rant. I hate the new capes, as I've said before. They look flimsy and annoying, and I will definitely switch them out for the older ones. Figs: Martian Manhunter: Wow! TLG outdid themselves with this figure, comparing it to the older one from earlier this year. I love that he finally has the cape collar, if you will, and I like his face a lot better. MM doesn't need leg printing, so he's fine in my book. Supergirl: Wish they would've gone with the New 52 variant, but, eh, it's alright. I love her face and torso, but the legs look a bit iffy to me...I don't know what it is, though. But the rest of the figure is nice. Brainiac: Definitely the best from the set, IMO. From the appearance he's based off of, this figure doesn't need leg printing at all; if he did, it would be inaccurate. Looks perfectly finished to me. Superman: Ugh. Another classic Supes? Dammit, LEGO. Give us the New 52 variant! I'm glad they added the laser eyes to his face, however. Ship: Too small to capture the essence of the real thing in LEGO. I get that they needed another small price, but a larger ship would have been welcome, as it seems a bit small for the 3 heroes to battle. Of course, you could add Darkseid and Grodd to the equation, and the heroes would be outmatched. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this set. I'll pick it up for sure, but this will not be a day one purchase for me. The only two that are are GL and Darkseid, and probably Grodd. I give this set a 6.5/10.
-
Whoa, that's a surprise. Manta has 387 pieces and Grodd has 347, so I would expect the prices would flip. Then again, Grodd has some more exclusive pieces.

From prior knowledge, I assume most kids got the first 2 2014 sets for the holidays, so why not just release the new ones? Whatever...
-
Ugh. This review makes me so desperate for these sets, as they're all unavailable on Toys R Us.com, and virtually nowhere else carries them (yet). You know, it's extremely illogical how TLG releases their Winter sets RIGHT after Christmas. The line is aimed at kids, so their logic behind the issue is just...beyond me. This review just makes me want these sets more and more. A little disappointed at Hawkman's wings, though! They look really bad IMO and I wish they would've just gone with solid plastic wings like they did with Falcon. Another flaw in my eyes (I'm being really nitpicky, I know ) is the new cape. Or, the new capes. They seem really flimsy and annoying to deal with. I'll probably just replace them with the older capes, as those were and still are SOOO much better in my eyes. Also, I don't really like the faces on Cyborg. He's either extremely joyful or enraged. I would have preferred a neutral expression, similar to Mr. Queen's. The last gripe I have with this set is that it's nearly impossible to see Hawkman's mouth under the helmet, and the double-sided face doesn't really seem to make a difference in my opinion. I guess my hopes were so high that, upon seeing authentic out-of-box pictures of the set, my hopes diminished greatly. Oh well.
-
Not that I'm aware of, no.
-
Well, the next time I can talk to him could be at Christmas, but it's pretty unlikely, as he's going to be celebrating with his family. I don't want to be selfish and call him on that day, cause, you know... Oh, hey, this is a bit off topic, but if anyone catches BrickHorizon's reviews of the set, could you post a link? I can't navigate that site well, lol.

Well he told me that he saw the picture for what it could look like if it actually is the figure that they release, as there are, like, 9 other potential figures they are considering. But he said that Zoom would have the same cowl as Flash, but the ears would be a lot shorter. He also said that instead of having those little white dots in the eyes like most figs, Zoom would have red dots, which is cool, I guess. Other than that, he said it's exactly like the version on the show, even with arm printing, apparently. For anyone who's wondering what Zoom looks like on the show: http://screencrush.c...ume-set-photos/ (scroll down)
-
Yeah, me too, as Cheetah has such a prominent roll in the game.
-
Hey guys, bad news. I was talking to my cousin's best friend (he and I are pretty close now), who happens to work for TLG (not at a Lego Store) and I brought up the sets. We were talking for a while and I brought up Professor Zoom. He said he thought he remembered seeing the CW variation of Zoom in some sort of timeline for the minifigures they put out. He said it was going to be released at SDCC 2015. But he also said this was preliminary and that things could definitely change. So.....dang.

I'm indifferent towards these new stud shooters. I prefer the spring loaded shooters, but that's just me.
-
Yeah, thanks! I guess it looks alright, not really as cool as I expected him to be, BUT DAT CAPE DOE. I really hope we get Shazam in a set sooner than 2019!
-
Also, can someone post a pic of Christo's Shazam? I never got to see it. Thanks!

That's odd. The sets are on the site right now.

Can't wait for your review of Darkseid Invasion, just2good (that is, if you get it soon)!

What you're doing is a Moderator's job. You are not a Moderator. But yeah, you have a good point. -
That new cape looks really flimsy. I'm definitely switching it out with an older cape

WOW! That looks spectacular! Thank you SO much, Just2Good! Always coming through for us!

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=45304696 I bet all 5 are out, but I acted quickly and typed in the one with the shortest name...

Just wondering, anyone seen the new sets out at all? It's probably too early to be asking, but just wondering...
