DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
ProfessorHawk replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, I find it annoying that there are still characters we haven't gotten yet. Personally, I would prefer if the Micros figures weren't as stylised so they would fit better with regular figures. -
Yeah, I'm expecting Tracer to appear in at least 2 or 3 of the sets, at least that could be an opportunity to do different figs for different skins? Like a Slipstream or Posh figure?

For DC, 100% prefer the comic-based sets. Not the biggest fans of the designs that come out of the DCEU (or Worlds of DC if that's what they're going by now?) and the comic stuff just really nails it in terms of accuracy to the source material. Even though we get way too many Batman sets, some of the comic-based sets have been incredible in terms of figure selection and builds, like the Javelin or Braniac Attack sets. For Marvel, I really like both. The MCU sets just seem to have better designs in my opinion for both minifigures and builds, especially for the bigger waves like the Infinity War sets. The comic sets are also equally as good, especially some of the Spider-Man sets. So yeah, just wish that DC had better movie-based sets. I do really like the new Aquaman set, so hopefully a Shazam one could be good!

Lego is supposed to have some sort of announcement at that Overwatch Fan Festival in South Korea so I expect that something will come of that or Gamescom. Like @IRISHCLOWN said, probably something to do with D.Va to tie in with the animated short and the fact that the Festival is in South Korea. I would expect to get some fig reveals too.

I think the original press announcement on BusinessWire said something about building sets across multiple price points, which sounds to me like regular construction sets, since buildable figures tend to release waves with figures at the same or similar prices, save for a couple of outliers like the Scout Trooper set. I'm really excited about this theme though, hopefully if its successful and continues for multiple waves, we could get alternate skins as minifigures like from the different seasonal events. Later down the line, I'd also love to see a Blizzard World set, would really fit well with the D2C Rollercoaster and other fun fair attraction sets! EDIT: Just seen some posts on reddit about Brickseek, if you type in certain DPCI numbers, it comes up with listings for some of the sets! 75971 - $20 75972 - $30 75973 - $40 So judging by these, I'm really doubting the constraction arguments even more, this looks promising!

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the Remote Controlled Batmobile seems to have an Arkham-verse inspired batsuit which is exclusive to the set. Pretty unfortunate that its so expensive...

I hope we get some more of the Lanterns like Kyle Rayner or Guy Gardner. John Stewart would be nice but he's easier to do as it'll just be a swap of the head with the Hal Jordan version. I'd love to see a bigfig Kilowog though -

I doubt they would do this just because theres no extra hood piece next to him in the set picture, but if they added this in the final stages, that would be great! It would save me having to steal the hood from my Doctor Doom anyway! -

Honestly I think the Cyborg we're getting is fantastic. Yes, it would've been nice if we'd gotten a cannon arm but the figure is already heavily detailed and looks great without it anyway. -

I'm hoping that getting Hawkman in a set means we'll be getting other characters like Zatanna, Hawkgirl or maybe even a John Stewart in the future. Fingers crossed we get those figures some time in the future! (Wow, we've only just got these pictures and I'm already about thinking the next lineups) -

Just looking at the number of pieces on the sets, it looks like the Black Manta (387 pieces) and Grodd (347 pieces) sets will both be around £50, if you compare it with sets like this years Hulk Lab Smash, which was £50 and had 398 pieces. This may be completely wrong since we got those prices from that other site (can't remember the name) but if this were true, I'd say they look pretty reasonable in comparison to other sets. -

Just noticed the small Justice League ensemble logo picture...thing in the top right corner of the box art. Small detail but it looks cool I agree, I really like the cannon. It gives the set more than just Darkseid on his own I guess. -

Thanks again to Hulk_Smash and just2good for the info/pictures! Now that the official pictures are out, I have to say, these look great! The Gorilla Grodd set looks better now, since its confirmed we're getting a Classic Captain Cold! Gorilla Grodd is pretty meh, but New 52 Wonder Woman and Batman are great! Shame that there's no new printing for Flash but oh well. The banana crate guy looks cool too The Black Manta set still looks kinda meh but the Black Manta head mould looks so good. More Bat-vehicles are still annoying though But the Javelin set, oh the Javelin set. This set looks amazing! Darkseid's expression is a bit lame but the rest of his printing looks pretty solid. I would have preferred if they had gone for a more stern look. Also no New 52 Superman is slightly annoying but hopefully that shows up in the Braniac set. But the other minifigures. Holy. Cyborg. Amazing. All of the printing looks amazing on him and the gun acting as his arm cannon is kinda hilarious, to be honest. Hawkman. The printing, again, is extremely solid and the two variations of his wings is so much needed. But Green Arrow . This is the minifigure I've been waiting for, dreaming about. Now I won't need to pay a bajillion pounds for one of him. Now its only gonna be like 90 or something. Not sure if it might come with another hood for when its up, which would be nice, but the down hood from Wyldstyle still looks great on him. And that green bow is just perfect. All in all, this is an absolutely fantastic wave, mainly for the figures. Hold on to your wallets. Now I just need pictures for the Braniac set (I need me some Martian Manhunter ) -

Hey guys, I'm new here but I've been keeping up with the conversation thats been going on, so I'd just like to give my thoughts about the prelims (before the final photos hopefully come out later ) This is the DC Line we've been waiting for. I'm especially excited for the Braniac and Darkseid because of all the new figs. To be honest, the other two (Flash and Aquaman set) are a bit lame just because of the builds and some of the repeat figures but they're still good in their own way, I guess. But seriously, I can't wait for Green Arrow. Now all we need is a Black Canary to go along with him The official photos come out soon. Get hyped.
