You're not understanding what I'm saying. What I mean is that the Defender of Fire is called such because it represents the element of fire, not because it defends it.

Because each Protector is of that element. Dude, I'm guessing you never saw Optimus die in the 1986 movie... or in the Prime cartoon...

This just furthers convinces me that they are tasked with protecting the masks from the Toa. It just seems like the type of term that would be used with this.

Wait, I never said that the Defenders were "enemies", per se. I was just stating that I couldn't see them as the Toa's allies. If anything, I agree with what you just said. I can agree with this.

Whatever floats your boat. I personally couldn't stand not applying something that was meant to be applied. This is what I'm suspecting. I highly doubt that the Defenders/Protectors are allies of the Toa - that would mean that the puny little Skull Spiders (and the LOSS) are the only enemies, and that's just too easy.

Uh... Yeah. You can continue the story while ignoring the past. It's not that difficult. Example: the six mighty Toa, once brave warriors from another land, now face a greater menace than ever before (etc.) See? New story a continuation without paying a huge amount of attention to the old one. Now, I never said it would be the preferred or even logical course of action, but it's still a possible one.

It's fine, bro ;) I also voiced that the sets could be Jurassic World. It certainly will have an appeal to fans, so it could be what they're unveiling...

I've accepted that the evidence points towards a reboot, but I'm still not rooting for one, nor have I dismissed the possibility of one. A time skip would be nice.

Alright, you've made your point. Still, the name Protector sounds to me like they're the guardians of the masks the Toa are after - though, since the name "Toa" also does not appear on the packaging for them, I can see it if they didn't label them as "Matoran". I guess a reboot is the most likely course of action Lego will take. Perhaps. TTV has also speculated that it may be a thing where all three sides - Toa, Protectors, and Spiders - are against each other in a race for the masks.

Obviously so, but it makes them seem more like non-sentient robots. A continuation could be done if past content was "dumbed down", retconned or even simply ignored.

Okay, fine - I see what you're saying. But when you say the Protectors are "accompanying" the Toa, are you suggesting that they are allied with the Toa, or merely line-buddies? (Also, I feel I should point out that each Protector has the same mask/helmet - if they were Matoran, why would that be done?)

I never said it was a continuation because of the Adaptive Armor. And it is still to be explained why you guys think this will be a reboot.
