  1. Really like these ideas, they sound fun with great figures.
  2. Prequel smart brick set ideas - gulp. Mostly All-In-One sets for now. 3. Mid-scale: Hopefully the mid-scale AT-AT opens the door for an AT-TE and a Turbo Tank. I’d love the AT-TE to include a Dropship with a dropping feature included - you’d be pushing over £100, though. Really hoping for a mid-scale Naboo Royal Starship, too.
  4. The development of smart brick sets only strengthens my argument. Perhaps it’s disingenuous not to have mentioned the Mando movie wave - you’d imagine a lot of the budget has gone into those! In isolation, this wave is missing 3 key/core sets, flagship style sets relative to the expected price point of January waves. The sets aren’t the worst when assessing each set individually, but as a collective there’s nothing binding it together. The engine fails to start. Granted, in today’s LSW world there are more sets spread across the year, creating more waves. So it’s hard to compare like for like, however I agree with the sentiment completely.
  5. I think this January wave is the true representation and result of LEGO doubling down on ‘adults welcome’. As more sets are tailored for adults, LEGO must accommodate for the younger audiences. No two ways about it, it’s a poor wave. It’s so far away from the quality LEGO Star Wars can produce. It’s not a good look after the disaster of the summer wave.
  6. @Mandalorianknight we forgot the Resistance Lifeboat! always wanted that set, especially after the rumours all those years ago.

  8. Great ideas, can’t believe I forgot some of them! @Mandalorianknight you know what to do… Thoroughly enjoyed this - thank you. Was super fun reading over! For the Gungan Sub, I was envisaging some of the City, with a few extra Gungans and maybe a Kaadu. Add on an extra £35-£40 to that I reckon.
  9. I’ve been thinking a lot about the future direction of Lego Star Wars. With the explosion of sub themes since 2020 - and their coming, going, and eventual end of them -, including the newest arrival, that is the Busts, combined with the rumoured smart brick sets, I’m not overly optimistic how they’ll keep the theme feeling fresh. Especially as I can’t think of new sub-theme ideas they could do. So, here’s a list of traditional play-scale sets that have not been released at all, or in a specific context i.e film, scene etc, or unsatisfactorily/in need of a remake. As you will see, there’s plenty. Feel free to add any minifigures into the below if it inspires you in any way. TPM: Naboo Starfighter vs Vulture Droid Naboo Royal Starship Boonta Eve Podrace Gungan Sub: Journey to Topeka City AOTC: Bounty Hunter Airspeeder Chase MBS Petranaki Arena Geonosian Starfighter & Cannon Count Dooku’s Solar Sailor ROTS: The Invisible Hand Duel on the Invisible Hand Obi-Wan’s Jedi Interceptor (blue) Duel in the Senate Republic AT-OT Walker Republic AT-AP Walker (Saluecami) Droid Troop Transporter (Kashyyyk) Republic UT-AT - sigh. 10. @Mandalorianknight great ideas, as always. I have no idea what to read now you’re done with the movies.
  11. Here is a list of UCS/MBS sets that I would buy. I have never bought a UCS set before. UCS AT-TE Walker £349.99 - Anakin Skywalker (Republic insignia), Phase I AT-TE Driver/Clone Gunner UCS Kylo Ren’s Tie Silencer £219.99 - Kylo Ren (arm-printing), BB-9E MBS Petranaki Arena £399.99 - Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Count Dooku, Mace Windu, Poggle the Lesser, Nute Gunray, Jango Fett, Boba Fett, R2-D2, C3-PO, Kit Fisto, Coleman Trebor, Sora Bulq, Bultar Swan, Geonosian Battle Droid (x3), Super Battle Droid (x2), Droideka, Winged Geonosian (x2), Geonosian Picador MBS Jabba’s Palace (w/Rancor Pit) £449.99 - Jabba the Hutt, Bib Fortuna, Salacious B Crumb, C3-PO, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Boussh Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Skiff Guard, Boba Fett, Gamorrean Guard (x3), Malakili, Ree-Yees, Sy Snootles, Tessek, Ak-Rev, B’omarr Monk, EV-9D9, 8D8/BG-J38, Jawa
  12. My thoughts are very similar. It gives me TPM vibes, but I actually like that film. All TLJ ideas here are fantastic, thoroughly enjoyed reading them! I knew I liked the UCS Tie Silencer but I didn’t realise how much I want a UCS version.
  13. Every Sequel set needs a remake, and whilst I don’t like those films I think the scaled down versions where necessary would look great. Most the sets will feel refreshing anyway! I’d have chosen all of those I have quoted. Good ideas!
  14. The Death Star is a very expensive diorama, you’re paying a lot for one good angle. Shame, don’t think the execution has the value they wanted. Feels like £500, maximum.
  15. It’s worrying. It’s almost as if they can’t afford it. In other words the higher ups are squeezing budgets or more likely production costs are higher. There’s no other explanation.
  16. I’ll temper my reactionary take, but my word the priorities are so wrong if this is what we are getting. Nobody is buying an X-Wing for a smart brick, although today’s children do love technology more than their imagination so it seems. Can we just stop with the gimmicks and wide array of sets and pump budget into system scale sets that we all love? Clearly the budget isn’t there to make those sets good.
  17. Love these, would buy them. Especially like the higher price point for the Sail Barge. Inspired by the Vintage Collection Republic Gunship, here’s my revised Attack of the Clones wave. Republic Gunship £169.99: Saesse Tiin, Agen Kolar, Coleman Trebor, Clone Pilot (x2), Clone Trooper (x2) Count Dooku’s Solar Sailer £79.99: Count Dooku, Yoda, Poggle the Lesser, FA-4 Droid Coruscant Airspeeder Chase £64.99: Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Zam Wesell Homing Spider Droid £49.99: Geonosian Battle Droid Commander, Geonosian Battle Droid (x3), Kit Fisto Republic Forward Command Centre £44.99: Mace Windu, Clone Commander, Clone Captain, Clone Trooper (x2)
  18. Smart bricks. Seen some talk about those. Would make sense for the rumoured price.
  19. If they stop the helmets, I do not mind the Busts. If both exist (which I highly doubt), then it’s a brain scratcher. UCS Death Star looks good, just not 9000 pieces, $1000 worthy. Granted, I bet there’s a bunch of other features that we haven’t seen, plus we haven’t seen the other side to it. Makes me excited for a Jedi Temple in this style, though.
  20. Completely agree. They are objectively worse than 10 years ago, which is a damning conclusion. This is a fair enough point. I notice he’s bought 3 Turbo Tanks for content. He actively discourages anyone to buy it, but he’s buying 3 to make more money off of it. I respect it that he can make money off such a naff set, but it does leave a bad taste.
  21. Droid Escape at that price point is now on the cards! A new Vader is well and truly needed and this would be a great way to get him. I’d like a slightly larger Mos Eisley Cantina to really differentiate from the 2014 version whilst offering some sort of quality to the MBS version. A larger Tantive is 100% going to happen at some point, undoubtedly. That GWP is unreal.
  22. This January wave almost certainly confirms we will see Mando & Grogu movie sets…if that was ever in doubt anyway! 75436 - based on what I have seen over the years, I think most fans will be happy at the price point more than the set. Business wise this makes complete sense, providing a perfect set for a small child in anticipation of the movie or after watching it. 75448 - a really strange choice this, but I think it will be a striking mech given the likely colour scheme of white and red. 75499 - makes some sense given the Maul show, but I am more interested to see the 332nd troopers and whether they are new in any way. I’d expect the builds to be a small Mando speeder from the previous Mando BP. 75443 - I’d expect this to be like the small price point Harry Potter sets. Again similar to 75436 this makes complete sense and should sell well presuming they don’t mess it up and overcomplicate it. 75437 - on the surface this makes zero sense, but let’s assume one of Vanth or Bane (if not both) appear in some new media in 2026 - Mando/Grogu movie, Maul show etc. Bane is also relevant due to the excellent episodes of the Tales series. Long over due set, should sell well if the figures are good. 75440 - Nice to see a ground vehicle in the mid-scale range, which I believe is a first. You’d expect it to be planted on some snowy terrain…? 75441 - an inevitability, and should be good. Happy with this choice. Predicted this one. 75442 - let’s hope it’s scaled with the R2-D2, but the price point looks awful. Perhaps there’s something more to this set? Predicted this one.
  23. 76459 Hagrid & Harry’s Privet Drive Motorcycle - $20 76460 Hogwarts Castle: Sorting Hat - $15 76463 Hogwarts Castle: Hospital Wing - $100 76464 Cauldron: Secret Potions Class - $60 76466 TBD Philosopher’s Stone set - $170 76467 Luna Lovegood’s House - $90 76470 Flying Ford Anglia - $80 from Instagram - exabrickslegogo
  24. Cobb Vanth must be appearing in the Mando movie, otherwise it’s a strange choice. Alternatively, Bane could play a role in the Maul series.
