[MOC] Temple of Shanara - Kingdom of Hybrasil
Lord_Tyrannus replied to Fantu's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Fantastic work Fantu!! I loved a lot of things: the horns in the horse; the tree of life; the use of the black plates for the roof and, of course, your elven and ent army I see you are improving your skills since I first saw pictures of this kingdom (especially if compared to the 2014 Expo).. I wonder, if there are pictures of the complete scenerario and the others castles seen in the pictures? I'm a member of LUG Brasil as well (with a different member name: Nathan) and didn't find pictures of the other inventions (including other sections, like SW, LOTR and, of course, more pictures of the castle section)... Congratulations and keep up the good work!- 22 replies

Fantu, I loved your army, and I think this custom helmet fits very well with the elves from the collectible minifigs... Your elf king is perfect, the white hair gives him a very powerfull look. What kind of paint do you use? It's very nice to see a Lug Brasil army here =) The only modification that I would do is to change de yellow to light flesh, because I think they look more realistic.. Sahidko, I'm impressed and kind of jealous of your elven army. These Gondorian Army is also perfect, especially Elendil and Isildur. Please, show us your orc army too, I see that you used custom weapons and body wear on them as well..

Richchie, can you please post the link to your friend's bricklink store (the one that make those Gondor Torsos)? Thanks!

Richchie, congratulations!! Loved your army; it's nice to have, at the same time, different soldiers (not a clone army) that still are close enough to be seen as characters of the same army.. But I don't recognize some of the orcs' faces, have you used slide decals or what?

Well Done! Very clever design. Do you plan to make Rohan and Gondor stuff? I would love an Osgiliath based MOC...

I'm very curious about the new minifigs, how will they look like?

Fantastic work!!! Did you do all by yourself? How long did it take to finish this project (the part that is finished, considerind it's a WIP)?

Maybe there's a light in the end of the tunnel for Gondor faction.. What if we get, in the Castle 2016 line, a blue torso with a Swan heraldry? I don't think we will ever get a white tree or anything that reminds Gondor soldiers, but the Swan knights would be a nice addition.. -

Wow, I think this unique version you have is so much better!! Like "legofreak86" said, it's more accurate and even if it doesn't I think it has better moccing potential.. Sadly my two versions are the official one -
Actually I don't know too how many polybags they made... I can say I never saw them here in Brazil (I had to bricklink them, but for a nice price...) But I get your point, TLG should focus at making new molds for pieces that could be easily used again in the future..

Still about the Lake Town soldier, I'm really glad we got him.. To be honest, I think it's the faction of the LOTR/Hobbit world that is more accurate when you think about sizes... I mean, I have Mordor orcs, Rohan soldiers and Gundabad Orcs, all terribly represented when you think in numbers... But with a few bricklinked lake town soldiers I think this faction is well represented... And there are 2 lake town soldiers: 1 in the set, and 1 in the polybag, and that's where your theory about "thousands to make 1 mold used once" goes down... I've seen a lot of people with quite a good army of them..

I've just watched the movie and I must say, I'm really sad that we didn't get an Alfrid's minifig.. (and Bolg)

I don't get all the hate around Mouth of Sauron... I think he is awesome! Of course, he plays a minor role in the history, but the ones who used to play LOTR - Battle for Middle Earth II are already familiar with him (there is a mission that you play with him). Besides, it's cool to have a villain thet is not an orc/nazgul.. And, of course, LEGO wanted to make the Black Gate, he was the logical choice, because Withch King was already dead when the battle took place.. Now, why we didn't get any gondor soldier in this set is another thing (they cold easily put him in the place of one of the orcs, ok it would be 3 + eagle against 2, but if you look to all the other sets you can see LEGO doesn't take the numbers proportions in consideration, exemple: Mines of Moria). -
Please, where is this blue torso from?

I don't think lego LOTR fans are angry because we didn't get a Minas Tirith set, the problem is we don't have any gondorian soldier to put with our own MOCs... As a building toy you can always create any scene with your own parts, the minifigs are the problem... -
Why not both? \o/ Take a picture with each faction and a last one with your entire army..
