Moments set merged with 'normal' wave, guess thats part 1 of the dissapointment. Love that figure though. Seems some people think Flying class is quiddich class, Flying class isn't about quiddich .

I don't really think the chamber set is a great hall replacement. it a whole different kind of set. The idea is different, and it has taken on some of the aesthetic of the great hall because they could, as well as it being a nice oppertunity for them to homage 2001. This new system is all about the interiors and modularity both up and to the side. getting any resemblance to the castle is basically a bonus. this is what is happening: They might even make a new 2018-style great hall in the future while this 2021 system still gets new rooms. The great hall audience has been saturated for a little while, consider its will have had 3 years shelf life +

Well lego hasn't made any sets that fit another blue Dumbledore, except for astronomy tower. When its time for another blue Dumbledore I'm guessing it wont be the same outfit from the cmf. What do you mean 2:1 in favor of Gambon So far Gambon has 2: cmf and yule ball. Harris has 2: great hall and cmf. with a 3rd coming this year chamber of secrets.

Diagon alley had that.

It's part of the idea with accessory packs that ther's one exclusive figure? Sure, but really a whole lot more sets should have robes based on films, they wore them A LOT
-
Sounds right, they did same thing in 2018. I am very happy we get teaching robes Hooch! Thats has been a wish of mine, Problem is, if its a scene based set, the other figures in it wont be exiciting. Could it be another book set?

A fairly small set, using a whole lot of pieces, costing a 100 bucks. Including only the main characters. The potter theme already has several sets better than it. not this year so far, no

Id prefer it not be Gringotts, instead somethign suprising but also good. Gringotts better have a damned good figure selection.. .

How might lego make shredded skin? bunch of "teeth" bricks around like scales?

Nah, roofs were never copper. they just take on the lighting of the sky. I think you are talking about the lego shield piece. As a hogsmeade set i would have preffered if honeydukes was the same color as 3 broomsticks. They all look rather same in the films. I wonder if i will mod the roof of Honeydukes to be cut off on the sides instead of slanted inwards as well. the whole shop in lego looks a bit too... old German city or something. seems a bit out of place for Hogsmeade.
-
Care to direct me to the content that has the entire roof in copper? Only area i can find that possibly is that, the little section down on the right based on that real place. Copper accents on most every spire sure, but copper roof as a thing isnt a defining hogwarts feature

In case anyone is interested in a better look at Mr and Mrs Flume this video is pretty neat.

As a slight defense of the modular cubicle sets. Last year they made room of requirements, you could technically connect it to the castle, but it didn't make much sense. it seems lego does want to make more room/ scene based sets. they might as well have a modular format to give them some context, also makes it easier for customers to store these sets and feel like each new set contributes to a larger installation of moments. I much prefer this format to the "book" moments they are making. The figure selection should have been more interesting though. Being that the chamber set is an anniversary based thing, will it come with an alternate build like the 2001 ones? Should we all try and use the pieces from only june wave Hogwarts based sets to make belltowers?

Prelims are usually pretty close. There only so much change that happens between these and final. overall they turn out the same. by the time they do prelims its overall decided upon, just some refinement happens after. a lot of people have gotten used to seeing both prelim and final product and knows what to expect by now. it's not like these will suddenly turn into accurate representations of Hogwarts sections. really hope the insides are clever and stunning though!

I have found a decent solution for that: (sorry for double post, thought they would auto-merge)

denmark wasnt as strict as uk and usa i believe, norway certainly wasn't Anyways lego sets are usual planned out well in advance, its not like this new modular was an accidental choise. As for creativity, these kinda sets are technically more creative than "just make x part of castle for x price point" They just gotta prove they haven't left the fans of the current 2018-2020 fans behind.
-
If they wanted to do that, they should make it minifig scale.
-
I think Ron and Harry too hoped for something a bit less solid:

Can someone tel me which hair piece that Colin Creevey is using?

SO i guess this year is all sets consisting of modular container boxes you can mix and match as you please. Hogwarts there already made up of 6 different "cubes" Fluffy set 3? cubes bathroom 1 cube Hopefully one year of this is enough...............................

I don't understand who the target audience is for these remake sets. the now-adults who grew up with the originals to me seem to have moved on to the current refined movie accurate style. It seems somewhat mastrubatory of lego to make these. I do appreciate they took the opperturnity to make it a chamber based set. which is a thing a lot of the adults on here have asked for since 2018

Maybe the final ones are all new kinds. Unique variants etc.
