we have no idea if there is going to be a "hard to find" hobbit set at all.
-
This is the only HOBBIT set we got photos from.

Nahh, nothing can be confirmed for reals uintill the game is completed. But the trailer show that thats what they are trying to get. So its like 80% sure theyll get that, if they get rated higher they'll tweak the game to where its down to 12 again. rarely will a dev get or try for a lower rating than they put out first. i guess esrb will be 'e 10+' like the other lego games

I'm almost slightly amused and wierded out when people talk about playing video games as a lifestyle choise. This is however not the place to post this, theres is a tread about the video games here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=69524&st=125 Btw I recomend you watch the cutscenes from the game on youtube after it's released! if you care about lego and lotr that is.

It's great, I see some foreshadowing with Boromir

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/4497393/A-useful-Depp-osit.html Johnny depp is on for a 5th movie. Lets hope atleast some lego sets comes from it. -
Yeah calendar, it will be released october 3rd for anyone interested x] .. I think the Hobbit action figures will be released in october, so I'm guessing by then we'll have atleast seen some more of the hobbit lego sets or minifigures. Also new trailer next month!

For what it's worth heres a picture of how Radagast will look in the hobbit. http://www-images.theonering.org/torwp/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/radagast.png Sounds like we won't see him in the first wave, but I guess hes an obvious characther for future waves. More possible spoilers. Check out Elrond and Legolas

Movies in theater: dec 2012, dec 2013 and summer 2014.. the dvd for the last movie will be out fall/winter 2014. Thats just 3 years including 2012 so "at LEAST four more years" is far from certain.
-
The material is certainly there, but the continued support for the brands will fade after that last dvd/bluray has been released. Unless they keep selling really well after that... wich I doubt The reason Star wars is so hot is cause they keep making new stuff.
-
With lotr & the hobbit neither is the subtheme of the other. with star wars thers "star wars" that is the branding for all the subthems, sharing the same box art. There is no overarching "middle earth/tolkien" theme. And they will both have their own packaging designs. They also got seperate websites. A better word for "theme" in this context is "brand"
-
Noone really expected that. Keep in mind the Hobbit and Lord of the rings IS NOT the same theme. Anyways theres usualy 6 or 7 sets in one wave,,, and they already need those 6/7 sets for hobbit scenes.
-
Yeah it was just temporary, they keep releaseing screens and videos showing the unfinished games. Just like the trailer with the moria orcs and hobbit hair. Personaly I think they should wait to show stuff before it looks proper.
-
I'd say bricklink is much less of an hassle to obtain minifigures. If the prince is too high atm, just have patience!
-
This orc got shot with an arrow, don't see why Boromir wouldn't. If its blood or not is propably up for intepetation. All we really know is thats its some red goop.
-
The Denethor story is easily dismissed. Except for maybe the part where he 'makes' faramir ride back to Osiligath. Theres no need for them to linger on that conflict.
-
Nowhere has showed the end of the Helms deeps level, so it could still happen. Its a shame cause he proably won't get much game time, but it's also one of those dissmissable moments.
-
Nope, but we did know there would be over 80

3 years is a decent run of sets tho. 2012-2013-2014. Should kindof make room for one wave of sets from each of movies. If they keep doing 7 sets per wave it'll be 21 sets in total for LOTR. Obviously I'd like the theme to go on for a long time, but if it goes on for 3 years then stops it'll proapbly have beena good run! Harry potter had 51 sets in total, with some of them being of duplicate locations/vehicles, and thats from 8 movies. Lotr/hobbit will end up with 42 sets for 6 movies, proapbly without duplicates. IF they have 3 waves with 7 sets each. Obviously this is pure speculation. how many waves we get isnt confirmed anywhere.
-
Im pretty sure it's blood, but I think it'll only be in certain cutscenes, not every time you smash a minifig to pieces. Either way orc blood should be black. Non red blood is also more accepted by rating people.

In my opinion all lego ladies seems to use almsot the exact same face, nothing that particulary looks like miranda otto. For one thing she shouldn't have black eyebrows. Also its odd why she doesen use a skirt piece in the game.
-
What are you talking about? the pants looks like his normal lego version..
-
I'd say its Gamling, but they look pretty much the same. Tho Gamling is featured far more in the movies. Gondorian citadel guards uses the helmets in that screenshot.
-
There will propably be a launch trailer around tis release. There might be some more videos from gamescom, but presumably they'll all be from helms deep. These lego games never seem to have a particulary clear marketing plan. edit: heres 3 more bad videos: http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/08/16/lego-the-lord-of-the-rings-defend-the-tower-gamescom-2012 2. edit: ign has an article talking on the game and its open world element: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/17/lego-lord-of-the-rings-rebuilds-middle-earth 3. update, IGN video with cinematics + extensive gameplay + Developer commentary http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/08/16/lego-the-lord-of-the-rings-helms-deep-developer-walkthrough-gamescom-2012

Thats is blood for sure. Its good they got a higher rating,,, allows them to stay closer to the movies.
