I know the feeling of which you speak. To channel the power of a god. It is a heady and humbling feeling. It sounds as if you did almost as much meandering as we did in the Necropolis. But it would seem your quest ended satisfactorily yes? As far as my arm, yes there was a time when I had but one. The Wanderer and Lord Grogmas saw fit to restore it to me. . . After a fashion. He sets a single gold coin on the table and then taps it with his left forefinger. It sounds as if a tiny smith is hammering on an even smaller Anvil. Then it is well you are once again among friends. I fear we left a number of such grudges simmering in the Necropolis. I do not believe we will be invited back any time soon.

I have indeed. Has your god never spoken to you? It was the Wander who charged me with becoming a Paladin that I might defend those who are without hope and send souls to him in Judgment. Have you never been blessed by your lord with his presence?

They are the bridge and Glue BETWEEN sword and sorcery. Sounds like a weapon Vindsval would have loved to have early on.
-
Clerics are the glue that holds sword and sorcery together.

Nice flavor the Grumpkin

Vindsval looks up as the fresh air wafts across the hall. He sees an old friend. Master Germ, it has been long since we spoke. Come, tell me of your journey since we last shared this place.
-
It is all good.
-
Welcome, always great to see a new hero, but still not another cleric.
-
Tell me Master Boris, what know you of the Gods of the North? Or does your Lord forbid knowledge of other Paths?

Vindsval Watches the dour dwarf leave without a word. A strange one that. Miderun, come join us. I would hear of your adventures since our parting.

There truly does seem to be a stanza for everything. I can see why you travelled little in your training. I come from nowhere. As I said, i came to this city because I had heard all were welcome within its walls. My father was a green skinned Ogre from the Eastern Shores of Baltarok. He left his homeland and met my mother in Nornia. She was the third daughter of a Priest among the Ice giants of that isle. Vindsval bites back the knee-jerk response of "one could seek employment." and instead looks at the new arrival. It would depend Glade Runner on what you needed it for, and who you asked. Vindsval returns the wave from his old friend. Miderun, it has been a long time.

Vindsval lifts his new hand and watches as the torch light glints off of the crystals at its heart and chines off of its metallic carapace He flexes and moves his fingers, listens to the tiny mechanical noises it makes and smiles. This is the payment extracted from me when I saved this city from a creature known as the Rosalia. I came to this city much as you are now, a traveling priest. I had been long on the road and sought a place where a beast such as myself could find acceptance within a community. Something I had up until then lacked. He fades off slightly at the last.Soon after joining the ranks of this Hall, I was charged with finding the cause of mishaps in a Doctor's laboratory. Deep beneath the city my companion and I found the source. A creature calling itself the Rosalia. It was a creature of pure disease that sought to kill all those in the city above. In defeating it I contracted the disease though wounds in my left arm. Upon seeing the marks the "good" doctor surprised me by striking it from my body. It was partially due to my weakness in the face of that disease that I chose to mastery what my mother's people called the Witchery Way. I set myself to not only bend the poisons and curses of this land to my will but to use them to send to Judgment those who would opress or harm the innocents of this land. I spent some time less than what I once was, but grew in power. Upon obtaining full mastery of the Witchery Way, my lord saw fit to return my arm to me in the form of this "Grogmas Gift." This allowed me to set foot upon another path. One that I had thought out of reach, for how can one bear sword and shield with but one arm? By His grace I have taken up the Mantle of the Scorpion Knight, First Paladin of the Wanderer. You called it a Testing, perhaps it was. What Lord would want the weak to be his Heralds?

Weapons NO, Artifacts YES

Now you are all about sharing gear.

Your Mighty one seems to require much memorization from his followers. The Ennoc, I have heard him spoken of much in these lands. He is the supreme lord of this region, yes? If your current state separates you from him, perhaps you should place your faith in another. I have just returned from an assigment in the Necropolis. The city is filled with those who have chosen the Path of unlife. They freely worship Helvetia. Perhaps you could seek out one Monk Carlos. He helped us, he would surely be willing to speak with you. The High Lord of my mother's people is known by Many aspects. One such aspect is the Wanderer. I believe I have heard him called Wartan by the people of Eubric.

Ruin is a force from the Mistborn series. It works behind the scenes, influencing all events, and incidentally can alter any written word that it wishes so long as it has not been inscribed in metal.
-
Vindsal listens to the old monks outburst, not quite sure what to make of it. He has long been associated with the green skins and their home, despite the fact he has never set foot there. He can't help but wonder what exactly has gone on between the Orcish nation and this city. Tales of slavery, rebellion, murder, abound in the lands, but what is truth and what is legend?
-
I just realized. Immortalis is Ruin. That which is not written in metal cannot be trusted.

He failed to delete the one he did not like and remove the one for which he cared not.

Welcome Rider

Former you say. Did you stray from your path, or did your lowlands god feel fit to close its way to you? The passage of time is strange upon the road, some days seem to take months, while some turnings of the seasons take but a moment. I would say I have been a member of the hall for well over a year, but it is hard to keep track of such things. I can tell you that I have actually spent precious little of that time here within its walls. The Wanderer sees fit to place many paths before me. Vindsval notices a new lad writing his name all over a notice about a chicken pot pie recipe contest. Perhaps youngling you should be More Specific about where one pits his sign.

"A tall drink of . . . Southerners and their expressions. I fear I cannot add much to your knowledge of those places. Though I am much travelled I have never been blessed to have my Path set to the homeland of my Father." He watches the pale man order whatever it is he is drinking. She never does seem to tell him what it is he is getting. Yes Flavorful indeed. I tell the madam what it is I would like to be reminded of, and she concocts something in kind. It is nearly a game at this point to see what exactly I will receive. He sets down his Cask and extends a long nailed hand. I am Vindsval, called the Half Born, Follower of the Path of the Wanderer. I do not believe we have spoken before. Are you new to these halls?

Vindsval stretches a bit, getting used to his new armor. He makes his way to the bar. Sheharezad, what have you for me this evening? Perhaps something with the heat of a Northern Hearthstone? A short time later a steaming half cask of something orange and bubbling is placed in front of the giant and he picks up up with a nod. He takes a draft and a small wisp of steam can be seen drifting up from his ear. Spicy indeed. Movement at one of the larger tables catches his eye and he watches a small pale man spread a large map out before himself. He walks over and looks down at the drawing. Looking for somewhere in particular friend?

Only a small army. To Mystic and Al, It is great to be thinking but don't let an idea lock you into a decision. The best way to choose RP wise is to let your characters actions and the situations he has to deal with influence his evolution. You can do anything you want, but it is always more fun and easier to play if it fits. If your Character gets exposed to a lot of magic, and and you are thinking about taking him battle mage start playing that fascination early on. Have him buddy up to the mages, chat about gems and scrolls, that sort of thing. Have him start collecting magical type items out of fascination and interest. That way his decision to change jobs doesn't come out of nowhere. And think about what role you want your character to play. The spell wielding powerhouse, the commander of beasts, a spellslinger who keeps his friends alive. That will help too Mystic.

Why Thank you Sir.
