If healing potions harm the undead, what would a Phoenix essence do?

As we saw last time one unlucky round and the three of us are toast. But a level one hero is death fodder anyway. I might have gone with fewer enemies since we have a much smaller chance of killing 6 of them in one round than they have of killing all three of us in one round.

Vindsval walks forward and eases the body of Flora onto the cobbles in front of townspeople. He gently unwraps her face. It is true what both of my companions say. We were not the aggressors, but we did defend ourselves. I attempted to call her back, but it was not the Wanderer's Will. I pray that my protection of the son will ease the loss of the mother. He reaches up onto his shoulder and picks up the boy. He steps forward and hands him down to Daniel. You will be fine now Luke. After letting go of the boy he reaches into his pouch, and removes a small carved stick. He hands it to William. In his hands it is nearly as big as a hammer handle. Give that to the boy when he has calmed. It is a mark of the Wanderer. It will protect him.

The more I read, the more I find references to paladins as pretty much being racist pricks. Is this a tried and true story element or just the result of the way a few qm/players have run them? And in continuation of the half giant conversation I do think I will go with hobgoblin or ogre for the other half of his parentage. If I am going to use that fig, I do need to account for the skin and ears.

I can't seem to find any threads about the lego board games, Harry potter, Atlantis, and especially heroica. Can anyone point me int he right direction, and are any of them still in production?
