Ok, ready to open the floodgates? Here we go! Yeeeehaaa! (the first TFA posters.....non-Lego)
-
Luke Skywalker sums up my thoughts about these figs:
-
Thnx folks! Here's the first full pic of the new stormtrooper... http://makingstarwar...ration-anaheim/ Edit: 3 posters: http://www.comicbook.../news/?a=118764 Edit: received a call this morning from a national radiostation; they interviewed me regarding Star Wars and tonights panel with Abrams; this afternoon they'll call again and I'll be live on air!
-
No, you're not in the minority (I'm with ya regarding this). I (and many others) expect a trailer at SWC (and who knows? Maybe there's more).....and I bet May 4 will also have a TFA surprise (the poster?). Also, it's almost a year ago since the cast was revealed.....so I expect they'll announce the cast of Rogue One soon (besides Felicity Jones).
-
I really hope you're right.....but why would they do that? Earlier this year it was forbidden to take pix of the new sets at the german and UK Toyfair....and those sets were 'non-spoiler' sets. The TFA sets are out late september according to the Amazon listings. That's 5 (!) months away.....and every set will be a spoiler. I mean: the only official TFA thing Disney has released is the trailer (and some digital tradingcards). No doubt a new trailer (and maybe some extra pix) will be released at Celebration, but revealing the TFA Lego sets means all the major TFA ships (besides the already shown speeder, X-WIng and Falcon) will be spoiled at once. Spock would say: That's not logical. (But I hope Spock and I are wrong)
-
I doubt they will reveal the TFA sets (but I hope I'm wrong). Maybe the Constraction sets and/or the Tydirium/Death Star playset etc?
-
Could be clever marketing ("a new helmet! I MUST have this set!") or Yup. He does. Sorry I ruined everything.....here are some other spoilers: -the movie is about a war in space among the stars -there will be several spaceships and aliens -Han Solo looks like Indiana Jones (minus the hat, jacket and whip) in the Crystal Skull movie. -Vader is still Luke's dad.
-
Kylo Ren also looks like Adam Driver
-
For those who'll be at Celebration.....these are the SW LEGO giveaways: http://www.starwarsu...on-anaheim.html Not going?
-
I had a strange dream as well........but I think it's best not to talk about the stuff I dreamed of....if you know what I mean....

Just received the news that I won tickets to see the SW Celebration opening panel (with Abrams, Kennedy and guests) at the cinema! (35 cinemas in 23 countries will broadcast this: http://www.starwars7news.com/2015/04/tfa-celebration-panel-to-be-screened-live-in-london-regal-confirms-tfa-trailer-with-aou.html) Only way to get in was to participate in a contest; you couldn't buy tickets....and I'm one of the winners!

The last few weeks I paid a visit to the DVD section of my mancave and watched a LOT of movies for the zillionth time: The Lost Boys (9/10) (one of the best soundtracks ever) Flash Gordon (9/10) ....and I'm currently into a 90's teen slash mood: Scream (9/10) Scream 2 (9/10) Scream 3 (8/10) Scream 4 (8/10) Urban Legend (7/10) The Faculty (7/10) Next up is 'I Know What you did last summer' + the sequel.
-
Looks like we'll be seeing some of the Episode VII ships (where the fall sets will be based on) soon. spoilers in the link! http://makingstarwars.net/2015/04/what-well-see-in-the-next-star-wars-the-force-awakens-teaser/

Jason Ward from the MakingStarWars website. A VERY trustworthy source.

Regarding a Death Star III in TFA:
-
Which site is that? (I want to see some pix :) )
-
*cough* Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor *cough*
-
Yup, a silly name like that might CATAPULT right back at ya.

The differences between those two versions are minor, I totally agree with that. I also agree with the cinematic history part. What I think is funny is that a lot of people (I wasn't referring to anyone in this thread btw!) have been criticising Lucas for altering the movies and want the 'original' versions (in 99% of the cases the VHS version from the 80s) while those versions aren't original at all.....although the differences aren't as big as the Special Editions, it's still a a version that's been tampered with: exactly the thing some fanboys hate Lucas for. I think that's funny. (FYI: although I saw ROTJ at the cinema back in 1983 I grew up with the 'not original' VHS version of ANH as well)
-
Aside from whether it's true or not: why wouldn't it make any sense? The figs are outdated (there are new versions of Darth Vader, the Emperor, 3PO etc) and I'm sure the station itself could be built better now.
-
Here's a list of all the changes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_changes_in_Star_Wars_re-releases There are a lot of fan edits.....some have been mentioned here like the despecialized edition. They're all downloads, non-official. I must say I'm not a big fan of fan edits. Regarding official releases the best non-VHS way to watch a pre-special edition version of the movie would be the 1993 Laserdisc or the 2006 bonus disc DVD (quality is not that great.....but better than VHS). Although releasing the movies in a pre-1997 (special edition) form may be hard and difficult (I posted the reasons earlier today) I don't doubt that somewhere in the (distant?) future we'll get those old versions. Reason is that it will sell extremely well.....and who wouldn't want to cash? (yes, Lucas didn't.....but he is no longer involved)
-
I should have added that that's funny because many people are complaining about Lucas altering the movies and the fact that they want the versions they grew up with on DVD/BR. Well, the version most people grew up with......was also an altered version. (and they don't complain about that!)
-
Funny thing is that most people have never ever seen the original theatrical version of Star Wars (except the ones who saw it back in 1977 at the cinema).; the original Star Wars didn't have Episode IV and A New Hope in the crawl.
-
No, it was never confirmed. Releasing the unaltered OT will be a very hard thing to do for Disney. Even though they bought Star Wars, FOX still owns A New Hope. Also, what are the unaltered editions? Many people think Lucas changed the movies in 1997 (Special Editions), 2004 (DVD version) and 2011 (BluRay version), but in fact there were several more changes made before that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_changes_in_Star_Wars_re-releases
