  1. Contradictory elements cancel each other out. A Diamond+Amethyst set up will give you X2 against Undead and Humanoids. With this sort of consumable, you wouldn't have the cancellation. You'd have X2 against Undead, Demons/Dark, Holy/Luminous, and Humanoids, just from those two gems. It'd never get ok'd, but it'd be an incredible drop... Also, nice character design, K-Nut! Glad Althior is going to let the dead rest in peace.
  2. ^Behold, the next Zoot's Orb - some sort of consumable that allows you to embed several* conflicting elemental gems into one weapon while keeping full 2x elemental damage on all of them. *Note, several, not "all". All would be OP'd. 2 or 3? Still OP'd. But almost nearly acceptable. Almost.
  3. I wonder how much of it could be built in real life? I shouldn't wonder if most of it could at least be built in white, if not tan...
  4. It's been used for the butler of the Shadeaux mansion - I forget his name. I'm pretty sure he's some sort of lizard-man.
  5. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Enemies: Void Eater *Immune to all negative effects and sudden death* Type: Ethereal Level: 50 Health: 500/500 Special: Devour – Removes the target from the combat. If all heroes are devoured, the quest fails. Drops: 15 Potions, 10 Tonics, 10 Remedies, 5 Phoenix Essences, 500 gold Left Claw *Immune to all negative effects and sudden death* Type: Ethereal Level: 25 Health: 250/250 Special: Grasp – Clutches the target into a tight hold, preventing the target from taking any actions. The claw needs to be hit successfully before the end of the next round to free the target, or it will be automatically devoured (removed from the battle). Drops: nothing Note: If the Void Eater is defeated before the claw, it will be automatically defeated as well. Right Claw *Immune to all negative effects and sudden death* Type: Ethereal Level: 25 Health: 250/250 Special: Grasp – Clutches the target into a tight hold, preventing the target from taking any actions. The claw needs to be hit successfully before the end of the next round to free the target, or it will be automatically devoured (removed from the battle). Drops: nothing Note: If the Void Eater is defeated before the claw, it will be automatically defeated as well. What happens if everyone is Devoured? Will the Veterans sign up a second group of Heroes, for Quest #140: The First Group Of Heroes Got Eaten, So We're Calling In the Second String? Also, if that would be/ends up being the case, I call dibs.
  6. Sweet. We QMs* should join together and make an effort to write more faction-based quests - there's been a significant lack of them, lately. Although I've never seen The Simpsons, I believe the proper response on my part is "D'oh." *I can call myself this, I totally hosted a quest**. **That it was a subject of running commentary in Gen. Dis. and an example of what not to do with loot doesn't count***. **Much.
  7. I think the thing(at least for me) was that the flavor text seemed(at least to me) to be hinting at a mystery oriented quest, filled with mind-baffling locked-room puzzles, etc., etc., - like books featuring a certain character by the name of Lupin. (Whom Lind didn't kill, unlike another character by a similar name. ) Instead, 103# boiled down to a timed dungeon crawl set in a mansion. I don't think it really fits - the Shadeaux having a bat as an icon - but it's definitely a better setup than not having Dragoon - and it's a lot easier to write quests giving out Shadeaux rep than Rito...
  8. Just out of curiosity, what's the point/benefit of Outstanding reputation with a faction? Or is there even any?
  9. Fair enough. *Starts waiting for someone to suggest that Dragons be ether based.*Here's another point no one's raised - the feasibility of having Dragons at level 1. You're going to take a level 1 character(or close enough for arguments sake, let's just agree "close enough") into a battle for 30+? The only reason #103 worked was because it was a mixture of exploration and battles that had been lightly tinkered with so that there was at least one enemy Lind could fight without being KO'd instantly(and even then, I did a lot of standing around while everyone else fought). Taking a level 1(or close enough) "companion" into a level 30+ battle is just asking for headaches for everyone.
  10. A., this is a reasonable solution., B., as a future Dragoon myself, I absolutely vote against it. We need our OP'd dragons! But seriously, there are no restrictions on other Expert classes. Alchemists don't have to train their potion skills. Necromancers don't have to practice raising undead. Why should Dragoons have to undergo "leveling" when the other Expert classes don't?
  11. Not anymore - it was removed in the class updates.
  12. Note to self - make all edits to post before posting... Good point. But the venom/poison thing still stands. (See edited post.)
  13. Don't forget, everyone, that these are creatures that can breath fire. Ergo, pretty tough. Also, venom and poison are not synonymous. Poison is taken internally, venom affects the blood stream. The potions sold in the store are Venoms - by definition, they can't injure the dragon internally. People have, in real life, drunken the venom of the most poisonous snakes, and been perfectly fine afterwards.
  14. I vote for this.
  15. Agreed. And make sure to specify at the beginning of quests that she doesn't Hide, she Dodges. Mostly agreed, but I might look into finding a different color for her chest armor - you've got a very black and silver color scheme going on, and the gold distracts a bit from that.
  16. Someone else can have my turn.
  17. Lind's been drunk, in case no one figured it out...
  18. "Ah am ztarting zo zink zhat zhaving zhat glass - zor zhtree - zor vas zit zix - of zelebratory zpirits zele'brating ma' glorious return vas a vit of a vistake..." The...elf's head began to slowly roll around on his shoulders. "Oui...-...Ah am...more...magnificent..." "Oui...Ze rest of you zpend your days arguing in-zessantly...I'm ze only zing you can ever agree on disliking..." "Good choice...trying to make deals...with heroes...instead of some zort of zemon..." "Ah am no mere man...ah am a Munz...khin..." "Ah am...Good night."The...elf's head thudded onto the tabletop.
  19. We need a coat hanger for headgear...
  20. That's actually a good thing - people who aren't selected for #139 get a second chance at the experience.
  21. What levels are you seeing #139 being? From the Adamantium shards, I'm presuming about 25 at the lowest? Simple. Zign ze beautiful Annienal on for #138, and ze...active Karie for #139.
  22. Police Academy - the original, e.g., 1?
  23. Correct, sir! Your turn.
