  1. "Little one, I have the greatest respect and admiration for "your kind," and expect the highest estimate from them. But I stood underneath Immortalis as he destroyed a city. He does not play with his cities in some game of cat-and-mouse. He creates the storm..." The Black Knight looked carefully into the Youngling's eyes. "...And he destroys the city. There was no toying. There was no "system of attack". There was Creation. And then there was Destruction."
  2. "Lightning is crackling all over this city. I wouldn't rule it out as having been intentional, but looking at that storm up there, I'm surprised more buildings aren't alight." "There's a rare piece of good news..."
  3. "Always nice to run into you again, Gabe." "...Karie, I think your husband could use you right about now..."
  4. The Black Knight pulled out Gladius, and started slashing at first Collapsed Wall A, and then Collapsed Wall B, if possible.
  5. Not wanting to look completely useless, Lind poked tentatively at the barricade with Star-Breaker.
  6. The Black Knight gave up his search for a bucket. "Eh, I'm in."He joined Vindsval and Karie.
  7. "We're mercs, not heroes....Also, I'm drunk."
  8. "So it would seem..."The Black Knight looked around for a bucket. "Any of you have an Aquamarine, or a Water Bomb on you? And Thormanil - is your dragon old enough to spit Ice yet?"
  9. "Does the kid need a potion?" "Hey, the storm could put out the fire. Then we'd only have to fight the storm."The Black Knight shook his head, and followed after the running heroes.
  10. Well, The Regret is dead...At least, that's what we've been lead to believe...
  11. "That's what I said." The Black Knight looked towards the Youngling. "Don't be too quick to anger, little one.It...can land you in bad places."
  12. "You might be onto something with that suicide by hero idea, but keep in mind, he is named is Immortalis...Of course, it could be that he is immortal, and can only die by S by H, but...still."
  13. I'm pretty sure Endgame made a post confirming Immortalis won't die during #147. He might still be a boss battle, but i don't believe he's going to die. Also, I would like to apologize if any of Lind's cracks have been over the line. There's a fine line between friendly, (occasionally perverted) banter between quest-mates, and harassment/just being a jerk, and I'm still figuring out just where the one becomes the other. My honest apologies.
  14. The Black Knight patted Karie on the back sympathetically. "Stick with the jokes about endowment; they suit you better.Well, they fit you better, anyways."
  15. The Black Knight shook his head in disappointment, "My lord, that is exactly what he can guess. The Drachenvater may or may not be a god, but he foresees all outcomes, and will have taken strong steps to block whatever moves we might make. He may not be omniscient, but he's quite as close as most creatures can possibly come." "Yes, m'lord." "You're quite welcome to stay in Eubric and be erased; I have already fulfilled what I was contracted out to do." "You might even say she "has knowledge of him"...But, yes, to The Albatross."
  16. "That'll be Throlar, then. Good chap, we talked a few times." "Well Met to you as well.Ah, the Dodekube. It's...sort of a religious order, without an order, based on a belief in a particular set of order..." "That's about it - or, rather, we think he holds no sway over the Earth. He claims to see all possible outcomes - I highly doubt he will not have foreseen our leaving through the Progg colonies." "I hear they have snakes, too." "Very cute, cuddly little creatures. With claws, a stinger, and a beak."
  17. That's what I figured/remembered. I just wanted to double check.
  18. "All I can immediately add, is that Immortalis does not consider himself a god.Beyond that...I shall consider." "My apologies, little one. Your master helped me out as a very young knight - rogue, actually - and I was quite pleased to find we'd once more be questing together." "...Yes sir." He stepped back, his face drooping slightly. The Black Knight raised his hand. "If you wish to know more about Vorpalis, I spent more time face to face with him than Jenny ever did." He frowned at the Elf. "Since someone, and the rest of the group decided to hang back and admire the scenery, leaving someone to investigate alone." Lind had to hold his hand very tightly over his mouth, to prevent his chuckles from escaping.
  19. Is this a set rule? Do Hatchlings have to be trained, before they can speak to Humans?
  20. "You were telling us about how you had learned that dragons were well endowed - but you never did tell us how you came by that knowledge..."
  21. "Aw." The Black Knight gave Arthur one more squeeze before letting him go. "Great seeing you again, sir."He looked at Jinnipher and the Dragonlord. "If Princess Jenny has any actual complaints, she is quite welcome to share them. Otherwise..." "If I remember right, you still haven't told us if he was your bedfellow or not..."
  22. *Reads latest #147 update.* Oh, yeah.   It fits the story-line - the Dragon Lord realizes that they'll need more heroes, so he calls in more heroes.Or, think of it as sort of a second quest within a larger quest arc that all takes place in a single quest. The first quest - "Escort the Ambassadors" - was completed, with a single set of heroes. This is Part II, "Defend the City," with a lot of returning heroes, and a couple new faces.
  23. "Immortalis...will act as he sees best." "If it's that necromancer, I'm pretty sure I've already fulfilled my part of this contract-" "Sir Arthur!" The Black Knight flung his arms around the newly arrived Dragoon with a motion that could only be described as "glomp"."Where've you been? I haven't seen you around the Hall for what seems like months-" He saw the dragon. "Oooh, hello there, little - well, biggish - one. What's your name?" The Black Knight saluted the Paladin. "Good to see another decent blade in the party..."He tilted his head. "I remember you loaned me a few gold awhile back...but I can't remember if we've met since then...unless it was during that One Night, of which we shan't speak - me, the more so, since I blacked out so hard I still can't remember what happened, although it seems to have involved fake elf ears..." "Strategic retreat; Sir Arthur himself once advised me to use it, if the occasion demanded. And for point of reference, Princess, I saved the king's life in Moone. If he'd died, we'd have failed that contract completely, and your country would have been in an even worse mess than it is now." "Vindsval! That was it." The Black Knight held out his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you again." "I don't suppose he'd be named Tholar?" "Again...not to be rude, My Lord, but...how are we going to break into a realm in a completely different dimension? And with the Drachenvater's forsight, what will prevent him from forseeing our assault?" "I watched him do it. It...was quite really indescribable. He's got that power, and then some." "Umbra Shadeaux, from House Shadeaux, Geor Bullsworth, from the Bonapartes, Monalisa Gioconda, of the Ji Pei, Patricia Ziegfried, from, well, the Ziegfrieds, and a friendly little Progg named Punii, from the Guild of Invasion."
  24. ...Okay, I need to go on a Zepher quest.
  25. The Black Knight shook his head at the Knight's simplicity. "People that are erased from history don't appear anywhere at all." OoC: I assume we can't post in the Hall topic, even though we're in it? "...How the heck not? Has he raised some sort of a shield around the place?" "And just how do you propose we go to the very cut-off realm of Eschaton? We can't just walk there..."
