Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
slugdude replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I actually just read that sinister six will be a reboot and have a new actor for Spidey, so goodbye Andrew -
I call them hero factory figs because they have the same hand, foot, chest, and limb armor molds. Also, they have a basic skeletal structure with armor attached rather than molded torsos or skeletonish bodies with armor that clips with technic pins. And, personally, I think the redesigned masks look a lot like the recent hero factory masks rather than any the Bionicles would have worn.

I would love a cannon arm. I could make a Samus figure with that

I must say, as an avid Bionicle fan, that these are simply the most disappointing thing Lego has ever put out. After about three waves of Hero Factory with spider themed bad guys we immediately receive a poorly-designed, boring spider. The Toa are Hero factory figs with bad recreations of old masks and weapons. Lastly, the print on their chests is nonsensical. This is extremely disheartening.

Well that's disappointing, does Darseid at least have has cracked-up forehead?
-
Speaking of which... What can you tell us about Grodd and Darkseid? Are they suitably bad megablocks?
-
Anyone else a little upset that the Javelin is white? I think grey with silver parts would have been better. The white gives off a NASA vibe and I'm not feeling it.

Am I the only one noticing a lot of... similar things to the first wave? The Drill set and villain is almost exactly the same as Tremor track, and the stealth bike reminds me a lot of the Infearno inception. They're not bad or anything like that but I feel as though it might become another Ninjago with a million similar builds.

It's a loophole the toy companies use to help them make more money. Kids would rather buy $3 minifigs than $15 action figures, that are terrible these days. So the toy companies make these contracts so more cash goes to them than Lego.

I just can't see it, it wouldn't translate to Lego at all. First off, the structure is massive, unless they do it like the Death Star two and have no interior, I doubt it will look accurate. It wouldn't be structurally sound and would probably fall apat, tip over, and/or shatter constantly. Finally, the more accurate it looks, the less interior space we get. There's just no way Lego could make a set that's durable, looks good, and contains the rooms you just said. The best we're gonna get is a crappy $50 playset that is the Watchtower control room or something like that.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

I would have taken literally any other cyclops, even the black one with a white X on his chest. We got a blank, dark scooba suit with barely visible print and yellow undies. This Cyclops is soooo boring, we got two better versions in the game that would have been easy to produce. I cannot even make a good custom 90's cyclops because the head print doesn't have forehead. It's a good thing Wolverine and Storm were so excellent because Cyclops and Magneto were two of the fugliest minifigs in the Marvel theme -
The Lego Batman dictionary confirmed that every Robin released before its publication was Tim Drake, sorry guys.

Lego will likely produce new spider-men rather than the other web warriors, as they are fairly obscure. I've expressed my distaste for emo vulture before (especially since emo is soooo 2006) and I would probably boycot all Lego Spider-man if they made him -
Probably Deathstroke considering how DC has inserted him into 2 shows, 2 video games, and around 3 animated movies in the past 2 years. I just pray that Lego does him justice as every one of the appearances I mentioned have very different looking versions and some look awful (Son of Batman) while others are amazing (Arkham origins).

Lego has contracts that would prevent them from doing so, a petition would have no effect whatsoever. Marvel has stopped production on most X-men and Fantastic Four products in a bid to retrieve movie rights for the franchises. They call the shots, so they won't be telling Lego to make any new sets for X-men any time soon. -

You wouldn't happen to know of any minifigs? *cough* Ultron *cough* -
This is amazing but I have two concerns: 1. I don't care for gobby's glider, it's bulky and the color is off 2. I think the commish wandered into the wrong franchise Other than that, it's magnificent.

Just got Riverside Raid and Infearno Interception. Both sets are great and the minifigs are some of the finest Lego has produced (especially the villains). I recommend both very highly.

I'm guessing there'll be 4 or 5 Avengers 2 and 1 or 2 Ant-Man. -

There were three Lokis so I'd say three Ultrons is likely. -
I'm hoping we get: -New 52 Flash and a version of Green Arrow in the Grodd set -Aqua Man with a beard and short hair and a Black Manta who looks somewhat like his Young Justice counterpart, with matching henchmen, in the Manta set -New 52 Supes, Diana, Bats, and maybe Cyborg and/or Martian Manhunter with a nice bigfig darkseid and maybe Granny Goodness Regarding the lack of Batman, last year there were NINE marvel sets, so it's quite possible we'll be getting another wave in the spring, maybe 3 DC and 3 Marvel, with a 4 set summer Marvel wave.

survey Picture versus Video Reviews
slugdude replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
Video reviews have too muching vlogging, they drag on (20 minutes for $13 sets), they usually pander to kids, and they have too much personal opinion. Pictoral reviews are quick and concise and have a small rating at the end. -

Also no villains or pedestrians. Just a couple spider-men in each set. -
I don't think the wheels even turned in the movie...
