  3. Looks very cool. I like ther train yard with all the, uhm, trains Some new baseplates would be needed to make it look more lego-ish, in my opinion. Great work!
  4. I see this problem many times here on Eurobricks. But here in the Netherlands (and possibly some other countries in Europe) don't have this problem. I think that is because in Europe we stille make much use of intercity and regional passenger trains. And because we see them more they will sell better. I heard that in the US there are not so many modern trains so they will sell less. Also the fact that Lego based their design from European trains makes it more logical that they will sell beter on this side of the ocean
  5. IT's classic town all over again I'm looking forward to the new harbour since I missed the older one. The marina sounds intresting too
  6. I hope it look likes a windmill. I like it that Lego gives us more civilian sets last years I don;t know or I will buy it but we'll have to wait for the pictures of it
  7. Looks cool, sad that TLC isn't going to release trains with six wheels. Looks very powerfull. Like those diesel trains
  8. Looks really christmas-ish. Makes me even more want it snow over here Very good job, all the buildings look like they belong in a set.
  9. I'm not to happy with this list. It comes way earlier than previous years so I doubt it's real. But if it is real I really like it
  10. I really like the tram-ish trains. Looks like a lot work was put into this
  11. Well I have the coupling problems with some of my new cars from the new cargo train. I believe it's normal and when this occurs it needs to be re-coupled several times until it stays good together. And yes they work with normal 9 volt era magnets
  12. Again I need to say this. It can all* be solved with this: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=8869&cn=587&d=70 * With all I mean the problem with the second PF motor going backward instead of forward like the other motor
  13. I thought about that myself too. And used both the new kind of O rings on the train wheels. The result was already said
  14. Well it's not a real issue to add two motors to one train with Rc or PF. You only need a ploraity switch available from Lego.com. I've tried this to combine both PF and RC motors but they don't work good together (traction and power is different). So use only RC with Rc and PF with PF
  15. Well it works and I believe I've seen and commented on your youtube video. The one with the new red passenger train. Is that your layout?
  16. For the ones who still think the space shuttle looks ugly I made a LDD model of the prelim picture with closed hatch. It looks so much better in my opinion. Pictures available when moderated http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=446604
  17. I'm sorry to say this but did you sleep the last few years! City got tons of new and original sets that haven't been released for decades or even't haven been released for years. The new public transport, city house, street corner, city minifig pack, sport and smart cars, and not to forget one of the most important FARM! a subtheme that was never released before. So Lego has woken up right now and they listen to us, but some people don't see that
  18. Oversized Image I had an extreme explosion of creativity. When I saw the new cargo train and the old 7740 intercity I saw many similarities between the two. So I wanted to know how 7939 would look with passenger cars behind it. So I made one wiht lego digital designer, later I modified it and had another one, etc. I don't know if I will ever buy one because they're so expensive but I think they do look good. here's the folder where you can download them, also the locomotive from 7939 is made ( but you can't check the price because of the Universe pieces) but the wagons can even be ordered http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=445195 Tell me what you think EDIT: Oversized image removed by moderator -TheBrickster
  19. Isn't it a bit dumb that the set number are not chronological? Maybe the new space sets have the remaining numbers, otherwise it's really weird that they've choosen these numbers
  20. This news gave me a little of a double feeling about it, first that it's at least a new train set, which is really a step forwards from Lego to see that trains are more important than they think. However it's only a set of flexible tracks, and unless you've got a really big layout and none of the new trains it can become useful.
  21. Very cool to watch what's going on iwht this moc, it's filled with cool details and smaller scenes. Great work!
  22. Hi, When I was younger I got the very old blue track for Lego trains, believe I had two working engines so the whole attic was filled with blue rails After that I got my first train (set 4511) and from my grandparents the station from the same year it was moved to my own room. A year later I got another extra car for 4511 and the level crossing. After some more years I bought 7897 for the blue rails, again my whole room was filled with rails ( I almost couldn't walk in there ). But I didn't like set 4511 anymore so I sold it. And the 7897 was put away and the interior and some other parts gone missing for other mocs. But when I saw the new trains (especially the new cargo train) I fell in love with it . I wanted to buy the best for it so I invested some extra money in lights, the rechargable batterybox, and the big man upstairs knows how much I spend on new tracks (because that was needed for the new layout). Before I bought the train I rebuilded (most of it) set 7897 and we redecorated the room (new floor and wall color) so that it could fit two giant tables for the new layout. Now the layout is in full progress with the new cargo train 7939. I'm also planning to get the new passenger one but I'm not 100% sure about that.
  23. That depends on how you look at it, I like the sound of a small Lego motor on the ground and not the thunder the train makes on a table
  24. Hard to say but I'm really not interest in another licensed theme. What's going on with Lego? I liked the Lego-ish looks of the previous pirate line and I wish (even I have bhought none of those sets) they would make more of those sets.
  25. Good review, back then I loved Alpha team and collected all the sets I could get. Good old times eh
