That Bane is awesome... only thing I'm really bummed about is the Bizarro chest piece, but I guess I've got one from a previous set I can stand in with a decent dual sided Bizarro face.

First sighting of SY275-SY276 on AE: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/SY275-Building-Blocks-Super-Heroes-Avengers-2-Age-Of-Ultron-Minifigures-Iron-Man-Black-Widow-Mini/32368437866.html http://www.aliexpress.com/item/SY276-Building-Blocks-Super-Heroes-Avengers-2-Age-Of-Ultron-Minifigures-Hulk-Iron-Man-Black-Widow/32370150234.html

Mine had the marks on the torso in the same places as well. I don't think I've ever seen the other wave... do you have a picture by chance? I almost pulled the trigger on that one multiple times for the Daredevil and Ant Man helmets before SY released the set with Ant Man. Still wouldn't mind the Daredevil helmet but I can't justify the cost of the set for it.
-
Wow... those are pretty neat. Nice to see more original stuff! Anyone know the SY set number so we can keep an eye out for them on AE? I think it may be on the box there near the piece count but I can't make it out

Impressive collection! You have a few in there I can't even remember seeing before.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Zhagas replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
While I can't remember an official price reduction I've noticed most of the $20 sets drop into the $16-17 range on amazon and walmart.com after a few months. I've gotten Captain America vs Hydra, Doc Ock Truck Heist, Spider-Cycle Chase and Wolverine's Chopper Showdown all in that range. -
Huh... I missed that. I was thinking it was from the set of 8 spider men that they put out previously but I checked my set and none of them are in that style. The legs don't look right for the 2002 one to me (it had red hips printed with silver) but the "belt" is not printed on the torso either (like the current one) as far as I can tell so I'm not sure what exactly he's going to be. Now I'm going to have to take a closer look at the cap too... I just thought it was out of the set of 8 caps they put out a while back due to the helmet but it could be a new variant as well. What seller/link did you order from? You know, I initially thought the same... but thinking about it, those are probably the most recognizable super heroes that every kid is going to know and want. Keeping a set of them on shelves that appeals to that more casual audience probably behooves SY (AFOLs can only contribute so much! ) Do you happen to have an example of a Lego colored with one of those pens? How resistant to chipping/damage is it? Is there some type of catalog of items available? Are the commissions only for big figs or does he/she do minifigs as well? When you say pricey for shipping, can you ballpark what that means? Disappointed about Hawkman's wings... and the print quality. Decool has really been slipping lately. Yes, Arealight is the one that uses those torsos for all their SW customs. Not sure how I feel about them here yet...
-
Huh... interesting. I've definitely not seen it before and the fact that I can only find one instance on AE and it's at that price point seems to point to it being new. It does seem to be a bit of an odd offering since most of those figures look to be direct rehashes of figures they've previously released (except for the helmeted Thor.)
-
I ordered for the same reason on April 28th from this listing and received the pearlized silver version: http://www.aliexpres...=66989357695467 Welcome! There are some truly remarkable creations there... I'm envious!

Nice work! I really like all the detail on Nightcrawler and I've wanted to make an Angel similiar to that (although I had planned to go the easy route and use an extra Flash head I have.) Up til now I've been hesitant to give painting a go, but the relatively cheap cost and abundance) of the bootlegs is making it more appealing. What kind of paint are you using? As for Banshee, I'm not sure if you've thought of it but you might be able to pattern something off of the cape on the Storm I see in the background. If you made it a bit wider and yellow/black it might be acceptable.

I'm going to add to the call to see these... Angel and Nightcrawler in particular are two I've always wanted in my collection as well.

I end up buying the majority of the genuine sets (two of quite a few of them since my son's also a big Lego and super hero fan.) I also have managed to aquire a few genuine SDCC figures, a handful of customs and my own MOCs (both purist and not) that live in harmony alongside the bootlegs in my displays like this one. I will say I am far less likely to buy bootlegs of figures I already have or can easily acquire (not due to any moral standing... just lack of patience mostly), but all they have to do is stick in a pearlized silver hammer or a cartoon style Ultron helmet and all of the sudden they're taking my money. Honestly, I get just as excited about the bootleg figures as I do the Lego ones and thanks to the rapid and abundant releases I stay glued to this thread. I may not end up buying certain genuine sets (like the Helicarrier) but I wouldn't have done that even if the bootlegs were not available... I would have just nabbed the figures I want from ebay or bricklink (like I did the Joker from the tumbler.) At the end of the day I don't think anyone needs to really shed any tears for Lego... I do my fair share to contribute to their license to print money (as I'm betting many in this thread do.) Mara is one of my favorite Star Wars characters... I was more than a bit miffed when they nixed the Thrawn trilogy from canon. I wanted a Mara (and a Thrawn... there's one I eye quite often that only my wife's wrath has stopped me from buying) for the longest time and I ended up snagging this one off ebay for a couple bucks a while back. Looking at it critically now I think I'm going to make some tweaks... I'd be very interested in seeing the pictures as well (for inspiration!) I'm really torn on that one. I keep going back and forth... I think the SY has more accurate (and ever so slightly better quality) printing on the torso and head and I like the darker grey legs but they REALLY dropped the ball on the torso. I have no idea why they chose to use dark grey over black for the torso (and especially the arms.) Right now I'm leaning towards swapping some black arms on the SY one and rolling with it.

There's a pair from the Lone Ranger theme that might work... That is really impressive!
-
I blew the picture up and while I can't make out who it is, I don't think it's Doom. The costume is mainly black with either white or light grey accents and has a design in the lighter color on the Torso. I'm not familiar with a costume of Doom's that would fit that.

Hah! My thoughts exactly! I was super impressed with his work but I have big hands that are not particularly steady so I figured I would mess it up royally if I tried to replicate it. I don't blame you a bit... having something unique like that is a great feeling, and I imagine knowing you are the one that pulled it off increases that feeling exponentially. Just judging from the (limited) amount I can see from the screenshot, I have a feeling yours may still end up being more impressive.

Batzarro is the character and it is a clone of an exclusive that came with a recent DVD release. I'd like to see the characters you mentioned as well a Coulson and maybe some X-men (Angel/Archangel, Gambit, Nightcrawler and Blink are a few I would personally enjoy) Maybe some other Avengers who are not in the MCU as well (She hulk and a comic rendition of Scarlet Witch come to mind) On the other side of the aisle, I really can't believe they haven't made a Deathstroke yet and I'd like to see a more modern Harley Quinn (since it looks like Lego's going to drop the ball on that one.)
-
After a good amount of scouring AE I've come up empty so far. Anyone know where they're hiding them?
-
The coloring on the minifig on A made me think of Gambit at first glance, but the helmet wouldn't make sense. Probably a days of future past movie version of Magneto. Loving Strange... and the Thor helmet!
-
Are you saying those are still available now in some manner? I checked yesterday and again today and all the pieces for Green Arrow, Cyborg (except for the helmet) and Hawkman were showing "Out of Stock"
-
Very cool... thanks for the inspiration!
-
Looking forward to seeing better pictures of these... I was really pleased with the quality of the Elephant Iron Man minifigs, *Looks like there is a listing from AE with better pics*
-
Thanks! The gun was kind of an afterthought after I made Coulson with pieces that I had laying around (a bunch of them from the Agents set) but I grew pretty attached to it. Hmmm... that's a good question. I don't have one of the new Batman cowls in black yet (ironically it's in transit currently - should be here Friday.) I do have a silver one so I tried it out. Unfortunately, the foot soldier head does not fit quite right. I know it's hard to see (sorry for my crappy phone cam) but the foot soldier headband only comes about halfway down the eye slots and the foot soldier eyes are too low (you can see them poking out the bottom.) The only thing I could find that came close was the Venom head. If you're willing to put in a little elbow grease and Brasso off the mouth I think it would work decently. Really like the cowl for him - think it's gonna work well and looking forward to seeing it complete!

I know stranger things have happened but I just can't believe the right hand wouldn't know what the left is doing at Lego HQ (having the perfect piece in production and choosing not to use it.) It really does look official though so I'll likely just have to get an extra zombie cheerleader and correct their mistake. On a side note, I am pleased they went with black over blue. I'm not a fan of the blue/red look she's sporting in LB3.

I'd dare to hope for Coulson but I think it's pretty much a lost cause at this point. :) We'll likely end up with some variant like a Sam Wilson cap or something but I'll hold out hope for getting some other fan favorite Avenger (She-Hulk perhaps?)
