  1. Are these the ones you're looking for? http://mybrickstore.blogspot.com/2014/08/lego-swat.html http://mybrickstore.blogspot.com/2014/12/lego-swat-2nd-series-by-lele.html
  2. Here's one I did a while back if you're looking for suggestions... as a bonus the head is pretty easy to get hold of (I got it out of a cheapie SW set if I remember correctly.)
  3. To be honest, I've had a pretty good record so far. Out of a lot of different figures from different brands I've only had a few that had serious defects, and almost all of those were in the first sets I bought so I think the quality has improved substantially. That's not to say you won't get a dud (I got a Red Robin recently that the helmet wouldn't fit on. I was upset til I saw the picture here of someone who got the same figure with the head printed upside down!) That being said, I've not had any issues getting a replacement sent by the sellers on AliExpress when I have had issues with a particular figure. As far as what brands to start with, I would definitely suggest Decool and Sheng Yuan. And if you need another resource (with tons of picture comparisons) I find this guy's blog an invaluable resource: http://mybrickstore.blogspot.com/
  4. I used to feel that Decool's quality was superior but lately I've been very impressed with SY's newest releases. Galactus is simply awesome and I was also quite impressed with comic Hawkeye and Antman. Decool will still be getting plenty of business from me though, at least until someone else starts making some decent big figs!
  5. I've started doing that myself. It makes my wife far less angry than when we used to buy my son sets and the minifigs would either be lost or creatively destroyed in no time flat. I can't wait... a few of my orders on AliExpress have been on hold until after Chinese New Year (waiting on suppliers.) I want my Decool Groot and Daredevil already!
  6. Hah! I am quite fond of her, but if you can't enjoy it why have it? It's not like I'd be doing irreparable damage... arm swaps are quick and painless. I bricklinked the torso this morning so I'll let you know how it goes. In the meantime, I took a picture of all 3 so you can see (Decool on left, Lego in the middle, SY on the right and Lois, since someone else mentioned possibly using her hair.) Decool is much closer color wise... it's just a hair off of the Lego one. The SY version is a noticeably darker/duller shade so you might be able to tell the difference with the arms. That being said, SY did a really good print on the legs. My biggest gripe though is that their head is only single sided (and not the cool side!) Then again, the pronounced dot in the center of the Decool head has always driven me crazy too! I've had my eye on that Ariel hair as well. Seems like it should be useful somewhere but I just can't put my finger on it. On another note - they had Lois parts in the bin? I was under the impression they weren't allowed to put licenced parts in there. I've certainly never seen any flesh colored ones at the Lego store here!
  7. I just picked up one in the Austin area for $35. Told a friend in Virginia and he checked Walmart to find they are on clearance there as well, but for $54... so YMMV.
  8. That is absolutely fantastic. I have a few different bootleg versions of that figure I could do this with but I am so impressed with it that I'm seriously considering applying it to my authentic one. I'm extremely interested to see what else you come up with during this endeavor!
  9. Neat ideas! Both really well done... kudos!
  10. This would seem to change that? Unless I'm misreading it... http://marvel.com/news/movies/24062/sony_pictures_entertainment_brings_marvel_studios_into_the_amazing_world_of_spider-man
  11. Havok and Polaris were on/off members of the X-men along with the first five during the '70s. X-Factor didn't come around till the mid 80s and the roster that included Havok came out in the early 90s.
  12. I love the bow... that is a fantastic idea!
  13. Hey all, this forum has been an endless supply of inspiration to me and I wanted to share my latest creation. I've been wanting to do Coulson for a while now and the new Ultra Agents line finally gave me a torso I'm satisfied with. The hair still bothers me a bit... there's one I like a lot better in this set I would like to get hold of: http://shop.lego.com...g-Flusher-70811 I also wanted to try and make a gun that is closer to the movie version than the game version. Still needs a bit of tweaking but I feel like I'm headed in the right direction. *After uploading the first two pictures I made improvements to the gun that I liked better (getting that second grip higher) so I'm uploading a third image of the new gun (and the proper hair.) Also, if anyone knows of a better waist I'd love to hear it. I'm not sold on the one I'm using but it's the best I could find. I considered these two as well: http://www.bricksandbloks.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/20130107-110143-e1357574574245.jpg and http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130212234350/lego/images/5/5f/Cty341.jpg
