[LDD][MOC][Micro] B-Wing - X-wing - Y-Wing - Millennium Falcon
Bbafett replied to samlr's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I like the other version of the millennium falcon on the top of it. Not crazy about the black studs on top. Everything else is good. Your other ships are amazing. -
Love this interview. I like the design of the Republic Attack Gunship for a UCS model. I would think that would be a recognizable ship to use from the prequel trilogy. I have yet to pick up the Slave 1 UCS but I plan on getting it in the next few months.

Bricklinking and Building 10030 UCS Star Destroyer
Bbafett replied to Cjd223's topic in LEGO Star Wars
What part numbers are the parts you used to replace the 2x2 magnet holders in the above picture? I am wanting to do the same thing on Anio's SSD. Any issues with attaching anything using this method on your ISD? -
I am curious if anyone tried to find an alternative from the 2x2 magnet holders that cost $10-$20/each for this MOC? I have bought those before for Anio's Venator and they are the most expensive part. Is there a work around for this? If so what parts would it use?

I got my parts on brickink. Including shipping it was a little over $1000. I am in usa. Magnet holders were over $200.

I'm actually not crazy out that mod. I like your idea and I have seen red bridges on the venator before but I just think it hides the bridge windows too much with all that dark. I love anio's the way it is and I am not sure it could be improved on very much.

Curious to know how much this cost to build and the dimensions of it. Can you provide?

Just picked up the 75072 Microfighter Arc-170 yesterday at Target. Surprisingly didn't rush home and build it, but I am looking forward to it.

I like that shelving unit you have them on. Where did you get that? It would make displaying Legos easier.

Wow. I'm impressed. That looks awesome.

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
Bbafett replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Curious how people display large Star Wars sets. Some of these sets can be large. I would like to know what shelving or displays they use. -
Finally completed. Took me and my wife 24 hours to complete this beast. Probably spent more looking for pieces than building. Lol. Looks great. Need to get a big display cabinet for a growing Lego collection. For right now it is on top of entertainment center. Full album https://imageshack.com/a/24Fz https://imageshack.com/i/eyo11kHJj

Yeah I got the bottoms on. A little tricky to get all the magnets aligned but it looks good so far. Only the tops are left.

Question, I am finding that I am having a slight warp when building the outside covers on the ship(bottom currently). Seems to get worse the further out I build this wing. I have checked my parts and the best I can tell there is no warp on the individual plates and I have made sure that each part is properly seated among each other. Is this something that will cause an issue when I try to attach it to the body of the ship? I have even basically rebuilt it and still had the same issue making extra sure that the parts are correct. Might try again with different bricks to see if the problem reoccurs. Is this something that occurred while others have built it? And will it still allow me to attach to the ship?

Thank you. Wish I would have thought about dropping off the b on that part. That is good to know for the next time I order.

Awesome, will look into that later on. Having a blast building this.

https://imageshack.com/a/24Fz/1 Here is a album of my pictures so far. About 11 hours into it over the last few days with the help of my wife. Looking pretty good. Well put together guide. My wife asked me where I was going to put this thing. lol. Originally I had plans to put this facing my Lego 10221 SSD on the entertainment center. Now that I have the bulk of it built I am not 100% sure I can get them both on there. Might have room, but this thing is massive. But oh so awesome. I do wish that the Bracket 2436b came in dark red. Those are towards the front and although mostly covered up I can still see a strip of bright red on both of them. Might see if I can find a solution to that if possible. Will post updated pics

I plan on buying this Slave 1 next year at some point. Might not be in January, but most likely the first quarter of the year. I think it looks awesome. I am a huge Boba Fett fan and love his ship. I have his ship as my keychain. Really like the way it is built and was pleasantly surprised as to how big the set is on the video by Lego. Really has that Wow! factor to me. I just have to find a good spot for it. lol.

In my opinion 10221 looks pretty good after putting it together twice. However it has a couple short comings. The biggest one that I see is the very flat bottom doesn't match the movies. It might make it easier to build is why Lego went that way. I still love the model on display for the sheer size of it and details of the city on the ship.

Finally placed the last order yesterday. Got to the point that I was determind to have all the parts here to work on Christmas Day at least. Looking forward to the wife and I going through this mammoth project. Been 7 months waiting for it since I started ordering parts.
-
Those do look awesome beside each other! I can't wait til I get all my parts in and can start building that Venetator.
-
I am looking at my budget being around $1,250 for this including shipping. Been ordering parts since May a little at a time(20 or so orders on bricklink) b/c I don't think my wife would appreciate me spending all that in one month. Plus the project is fun getting everything ordered and organized. My wife laughs at me but when it comes time to build she will be right there ready to help hand me the parts for the next steps. She likes that. I think the next project after I finish this one in a couple months will be to get Anio's SSD instructions and rebuild my Lego 10221 SSD to his version. I expect I will already have the bulk of the pieces, but the flat version by Lego doesn't look right to me. Still an awesome build though. Looks great on my entertainment center. Soon I will have this Venetator and the SSD facing each other. Will be awesome.
